There was certain canoe-dling going on - Vex turning up naked was on the table too - hair down Vex hits different but alas this is the romantic angst episode, and boy is it angsting Vex's sense is a favored enemy ability which is specific to rangers, on table you choose one type of race or two humanoid races, Vex losing her mother to a dragon attack led to her favored enemy being dragons, so only pure dragons would trigger it

Some friends and I were discussing whose butt we were gonna see first this season (I realize typing this that we might be a little weird) and two thought Grog or Scanlan at first, but then we remembered that Scanlan had promised "no more brothels" and that Vex had opened the door all naked for Percy once in the campain. And despite him being part of that scene, Percy-butt was something we hadn't even considered. ^^; Damn, Hell in Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss seems like a freaking vacation resort compared to the Hell Vox Machina just entered.

I was literally screaming at my TV after the end of episode three because I completely forgot they gave us the first three episodes and now I have to wait a week for the next episode. It was sad and heartbreaking at the same time the fact that I became so upset at my age (57) That I was screaming at my TV because I have to wait a week for an animated show.😅 it’s great though cause I haven’t had this reaction to an animated show in quite a long time. Actually we have gotten a lot of good animated shows lately that make me feel that way and I never thought I would ever have that feeling again since the 90s.

Keyleth is a Half-Elf Druid. Vex is a Half-Elf Rouge. Elfs live to about 750 but can live upto 1000 years. Half-Elves can live about 250 years thanks to that human part. Druids can extend their lives with a 10 times multiplier. So if Vex only lives to 250 years, Keyleth will live to be about 2500 years. If Omn1media lives to 100 years and his dog lives 10 years. Not as long of a difference from Omniman and his wife from Invincible but a similar vibe none the less.

I know Dohla was in the original campaign and had a different role, but something about her new portrayal seems so familiar... A red dragonborn sorcerer who wears teal robes, has issues with Kima over her relationship with Allura, and was killed by Vorugal in Draconia. Additionally she ended up betraying Vox Machina and showing some pretty toxic personality traits. Hmmm... I just can't quite put my finger on it.

You wondered about which things happened like in the campaigns. One VERY big difference shown in these 3 episodes is that the major NPC characters like Gilmore and Alura absolutely did not go adventuring with the party. Gilmore teleported them to a small village outside Ank'horel but stayed in Whitestone. Alura and Kima did not go to Draconia with them to find a rift, in fact there was no rift to hell at all. They got there another way. The old adventuring party member/romantic ex didn't exist at all, and they were not betrayed or have to dodge Vorugal in this way. They went to Draconia for an entirely different reason which we won't discuss. Much of their adventure in Ank'horel went somewhat similarly to the show, but it was significantly compressed and lots of small side things were discarded. The Percy/Vex scene was almost exactly as it occurred, but much more vividly portrayed in the show. In the campaign it was more like "do you want to talk before or after?, and we fade to black...." They were not about roleplaying erotic encounters in the campaign. I think the reason they are choosing to have Pike's power conduit to the Everlight be blocked in hell is.... Ashley wasn't there for it. If Pike has no magic, she can't alter the plot direction in any significant way and she still gets to be there for the show. There are going to be lots of places they write Pike into scenes she just wasn't able to play during, just like last season. The good thing is they are keeping her in the action, and not sending her away for months at a time to "help rebuild the temples".

They went to Draconia mainly because thats where Vorugal already was, and Kima did go with them. I think they might actually be reworking the Hell mission to be revolve _more_ around Pike since the vestige theyre after is for her.

One thing with Pike and Scanlan is Scanlan was still recovering from getting pass out drunk to deal with his feelings. And he has a bad coping mechanic of sex and flings and to go straight from talking about family issues to burying feelings into a relationship or whatever is not the best. Basically just wrong time.

Never travel to the Outer Planes without an alternate exit strategy. Not sure about this Homebrew setting , but I believe in standard D&D clerics still have any unexpended spell slots available when in Hell, but can't regain any expended ones unless their deity is based in Hell.

Seeing the three dragons lined up like that is really the first time we get a true sense of Thordak's scale. Like, we've seen them together before, but there's always been a sort of forced perspective thing happening with "camera" angles, but here, when Thordak grabs Raishan, we really SEE that he's enormous, and we know how large SHE is next to the party from the first episode. Getting shat on by a bird is a pretty common "good luck" superstition, yeah, I suppose the reasoning is that the chances of actually getting hit are small when you're walking around. But sitting under a large tree probably brings the odds up a bit :p 3:54: Now I want to see a LoVM/Helluva Boss crossover. I mean, they ARE going to hell... Cass being Percy's wingman gives me life. It's so good to see them just being siblings, getting past some of that trauma. Grog has ale.

I want to a specific interaction later on (if that could happen): between Vax and Pike (I frankly cannot remember if these two had any significant interaction, beyond jokes and messing with each other as a group), because if there is one person Vax should turn to after his (less than ideal) exchange with Kiki it should be Pike. 1. The whole ,,There's a balance" thing. I mean its great that you understand your responsibilities, but that also applies to life in general. (Pike literally went throuth a re-discoviry in Season 1, so I think she has a few ,,tips of wisdom" to share about that) 2. Vax could open up to someone about this whole thing with the Matron, who accualy understands (to a certain degree) the weight of it. P.S.: It could be similar to the conversation Vax had with Scanlan in Season 2, before he met the Matron for the first time. (Btw that whole scene is so gordeus from the Vax, Vex and Keyleth part all the way to him officially takeing on his Champion ,,duties")

So in the actual show, the Plate of the Dawn Martyr is not in the Hells. It’s in the Elemental Plane of Fire, in the City of Brass. But they do got to the Hells later. I’m not entirely certain why they changed it. Maybe The City of Brass has too much D&D copyright while Dis doesn’t? Maybe they wanted to do something different from the Plane of Fire because they went there a little last season? I don’t know

By the way, I’m sure your viewers will remind me, but I believe that one store. I think it was called the taste of Taldoreh I think was the title of one of the streaming episodes of the game. I’m not sure. I definitely remember the store so that’s where I think I might be confused. but it’s the little things that I pick up here and there that I go I know that from the game😅

OK, this is just a general comment for all your viewers from my end. I am an old timer. I remember back in the day when Batman the animated series it was on that another syndicated show was out and it was called phantom 2040 based on the old Lee Falk comic strips. It is the oldest still running comic strip in history. It is still being written and printed as of today and it is one of the most circulated comics worldwide. I know they made the movie the Phantom and they tried to do a live action series, not too long ago in the 2000s but the one that stuck with me, the most was the animated version phantom 2040 because of the animation style and the overarching storyline throughout it was a limited series whether was intentional or not, but it was a limited series so it had a beginning a middle, and it ended to it, which I think made it even more special. I would love for Omni to take a look at it and if any of you old fans, remember it please please I beg you guys to let him know that it would be worth the watch if anything at least for him to see it maybe he could put it on Patreon if he thinks, it may not work for the channel but it’s an old flashback to a time when animation took a chance to break from the normal standard cookie cutter storylines on TV. I don’t know why sometimes I confuse myself at times I’m thinking it’s a big group because there’s obviously six of them and then trinket and then there’s moments like this where I’m thinking the group seems a lot smaller. But then I realized it’s just a point of reference in my head. The group has always been a small group. It’s always been six of them, but now I’ve never remembered the group splitting up so once you split up the group, even if it’s only two members not involved it even gets smaller still.

I also feel vexed by this episode, they definetly upped the drama in relation to the campain in the way that( in my opinion) does not serve the characters and their story. One reason i fell in love with actual plays is that there’s little to no drama for the sake of drama, everything is character driven cause each player is focused on their character’s motivation. This ep felt like the oposite of that 🤷‍♀️

@@tesssc1409 Yeah, I think that's what they are doing. Interjecting Vex's cold feet to give their relationship an added bit of drama. I don't think it's necessary, but I'm not mad at it. I might have been mad at Kiki and Vax's drama, but that feels very true to the campaign, even if all the details are a bit different. With the major difference being that Vax was never afraid of having a relationship with Keyleth. The fear was all on her side.

I don’t interpret Vax’s vision as Keyleth outliving the rest of the group due to her slow aging. It was one grave for all the members of Vox Machina. Wouldn’t really make sense for them to be buried together if they died one by one. I suspect it’s more along the lines of Keyleth leaving the group to pursue her Aramente, and they meet their ends without her there. Also, her display did not look like the outpouring of grief for people long gone, but sadness and perhaps guilt for the recently departed. That being said, I’m trying to dig deep into a three second sequence, so there’s not much to go on.

Just how the party wasn't split up when they went into the Feywild last season, I think it's to save time, because like this we can have the trip to hell and the (beginning of the?) fight against Vorugal at the same time. Okay, so I don't know this is how it works, but I have a semi head-canon/ semi I want something like this to happen in the show. (I have not watched the actual game so if I accidentally call it don't comment under this😅). So my theory is about our group in Hell, more accurately Vax. So since now he himself accepted his role as the Champion of the Matron of Ravens, I have a sneaking suspension that said connection can help them down there. Maybe to get out of there (if Vex, Percy, Allura and hopefully Kima won't be there to reopen the portal) or find something important (be it a phisical object - besides the Plate of the Dawnmartyr - or be a metaforical something. Like a vision or something connected to memories (maybe a semi reconciliation with Kiki/ better understanding of each other)

The Hells are a different domain of a different deity (may see or hear of them next week), but there's a chance that the Matron may be able to help. Not exactly here domain, but she may have some sway (there is history and connections with all the deities to each other that may get revealed slowly in this and Mighty Nein series)

The Dohla stuff is completely new. In the campaign, Dohla actually died while fighting Thordak alongside Kima and Allura. Because of certain campaign events and IRL stuff, they more or less had to nake changes from the campaign so I guess the decision was to revive Dohla.
