I don’t like how many times you said the word “true” and also I don’t like how you get to define what a “true martial artist” is. I think it’s pretty clear that a true martial artist are guys like GSP, DJ, Anderson Silva. Champions of there sport and arguably masters at there crafts. They all got to where they were from discipline and hard work. Why would you think a “true martial artist” would ever quit fighting because they “don’t feel like doing it anymore” that’s literally most journeymen in any profession or sport…

he's a true martial artist. He didn't do it for a championship, or fans. He did it to do it and when he didn't feel like doing it, he just left out of pure acceptance and contentment. I think people forget what a true martial artist is truly about.

He literally got a disease, which he had to get a surgery for. And this surgery has 50/50 in retire you from sports. Which is the reason he stopped. He had a lung disease to be more specific. Its not like he just quit because he didnt wanna do it anymore. The reason he wanted to become a doctor was because he was influenced by the doctors helping him out, so he wanted to help others out. But there is a chance he comes back now, because he said recently that he feels better now after the surgery. We just dont know if he will be able to perform like he did before he got the surgery. This is why, one should not talk about subjects you are uneducated in. You make it seem like he just quit out of the blue, which is not TRUE

Spot on he retired as a true martial artist. Yes it was partly due to illness however he did sau in a recent interview that UFC promised him a title fight over years and they didn't deliver so he leftunder his own free will he even said he may come back in a few years time, I hope so!

I really want to agree, but he fought at around 65kg, that is very low. I think weight makes such a big factor when fighing that he would have trouble with any 90+kg man with minimal wrestling training.

false news. If I had a penny for everytime ive heard that, id be a rich man. He looks gassed bc he gives it his all, utiliizes like 100 different moves a fight, from spinning heel kicks to suplexes takedowns and straight brawling on the feet . If he wanted to preserve the tank he could but he CHOOSES to empty it, for the art, for the fans...dudes is a legend and khabib will soon sign him hopefully

@@kamran2104 You better check yours. I literally watched his interview (its in russian). Google it. He had diaphragm spasms and on top of that an immune system disease. What promise was that you were talking about (that UFC did not follow through with)? Say and I will check up in Russian and see if you speak truth or not. You can google what I said and you'll see its true. The diaphragm spasms forced him to hold his breath while striking, this is the reason he would gas quite quickly. He might come back now also as he is feeling better after the surgery. He posted some videos of him hitting pads and saying he was feeling better so..
