I always loved how the magic of Hyrule was so frequently intertwined with music. It's a lovely theme that runs through so many of the games.

Yeah definitely one of my favorite parts about Zelda, love the concept of music being magic, I hope Breath of the Wild brings this back, that's one thing they shouldn't change, though it seems music won't be important.

A fun little thing I've been poking at. I feel like it might have implied a significance at one point during the game's development, but was either oversighted or tossed later--The Redeads and Gibdos moan in a tone very reminiscent to a choppy, distorted version of Zelda's lullaby--the song of the Royal family. It's slightly off key and a little faster, but it can definitely be heard. It's the 6-note sequence that you have to play in order to activate the game's acknowledgement that you're trying to play the lullaby. There's also the fact that it's used as a *lullaby*. For the *dead* to be singing a song that essentially *puts one to rest*, is it any coincidence? It's as if they're begging for rest so desperately that they are willing to sing this song to lull themselves to sleep. I know that's easily brushed off, and maybe it's just an easter egg, or something else random, but since we're on the topic of theories, I thought I'd mention it. There's also the interesting fact that the Redeads and Gibdos in temples, dungeons and and tombs can freeze you with their scream, where as the redeads of the marketplace cannot. I wonder if this ties into the fact that it's suspected that those are remnants/husks of common folk once populating the market place, in contrast to the plausible theory that Redeads and Gibdos in dungeons/tombs and temples may have been royal family members from wars of old, whether their bodies were recovered and sent to tombs or not--between the 'song' they 'sing', and the ability they have to freeze you, much like the sun song can do to them. While the Sun Song can freeze ALL Redead and Gibdos, I feel like the fact that only dungeon/temple types can seemingly take up arms in the battle of who can freeze who first ties in with the fact that the Sun Song is another song of the Royal Family, or at least would have been. I don't know. That last one's a bit of a stretch, but I thought it was worth the note. :) I love these theories.

The possibility that the redeads are singing a distorted version of Zelda's Lullaby in a desperate attempt to put themselves to sleep is both horrifying and amazing all at once. Can this be canon? It's canon now

Zelda's Lullaby is not a Lullaby, it was used by Impa as a Lullaby for Zelda so she'd remember it, but it doesn't make people sleep like the Goron's Lullaby does

That is a very interesting theory indeed. I always wondered why the redead at the marketplace dont paralyze Link the way others did, i thought it was because Link was an adult but then the Shadow Temple proved that wrong. I honestly think the developers werent thinking that far ahead and just wanted to place their scariest monster as the first enemy Adult Link encounters in the future. Toppled by the dark and destroyed town and i gotta say, they succeeded. I was ten years old when i played that game and it was a scary moment to remember. Im 31 now and that's the first thing that pops in my head when someone mentions OoT.

I love your theory that the windmill plays the song within the tombs to keep curses at bay. I always thought it was weird the music never escaped the windmill itself in OoT, and yet somehow brought rain outside the structure. It would make sense that both The Song of Storms and The Song of Healing are curse-warders as well, with The Song of Storms being the more powerful one, as well as one for a different purpose than the Song of Healing. One to protect the living (The Song of Healing), and one to protect the dead (The Song of Storms). I think this is especially shown in Majora's Mask - if you play The Song of Healing for Sharp instead of The Song of Storms, he says, "Somehow my heart is eased. This melody has serenity to it. And yet.... To one of the dead and darkness, like myself, a song like that no longer holds meaning to me. You shall end your futile existence and quickly join the ranks of the dead." -- That gives both of your theories on each song great validity to any nay-sayers out there.

I've mentioned this in the comments of a past video, but if it interests you do you think you could look at the dungeons in the original Legend of Zelda's dungeons, and how they connect to locations in other zelda games? For instance, the first dungeon is heavily implied to be the remains of The Great Deku Tree, after he was left to after ganon killed him. I was curious if other dungeons from the game (aside from, obviously, Death Mountain) had connects to areas in other zelda games.

The theory is based on a few extrapolations, but since the games don't outright disprove any of them and they are all slight, i think this sounds pretty solid overall! :D The only thing i will say is that I don't think the Song of Storms cleanses curses in Majora's Mask. I always took it that it reminded Sharp of his brother since it was a song they created together, and causing it to rain inside the cave with the spring restored the water flow which obviously activated the Gibdo House.

If you get hit by a blue bubble in Majora's Mask you get cursed and can't use your sword. Playing the song of storms removes it immediately :)

An extraordinarily well-crafted theory ! One thing which might be of interest to you... in the Shiekah History theory by CommonWealth Productions he found some small paragraph in the Nintendo Official Player's Guide for OoT which said that Impa managed to drive the Gerudos out of Kakariko after they invaded. It always confused me in the past why Ganondorf would risk his cover just to get a little bit closer to finding out the seal on the Sacred Realm and kill two well regarded men which would clearly draw attention. Since the Composer Brothers are of Kakariko Village it is possible that they were in Kakariko Village when the Gerudos invaded and therefore Ganondorf's actions towards them makes a lot more sense as they were openly declared enemies at that point and casualties do happen in war. I could see the King of Hyrule looking past their loss if it meant peace for their kingdom.

Interesting fact about the Deku mask spirit in Majoras Mask, though not exactly confirmed but the Deku mask is said to contain the soul of the Deku butler's son since two of the three masks act as a item from which part of the soul of the deceased linger. It also explains why the Elegy of Emptiness creates a Deku child, implying that maybe, just maybe, the Deku butler's son left the Deku palace after being coaxed, tricked or bullied most likely by the Skull Kid, and then murdered by him in the caverns underneath the Clock Tower. The Deku butler points out that Link looks eerie similar to his son whom he used to race and even states that he does not know why his son left. Also at the end credits, there is a scene where the Deku butler is weeping in front of the remains of the petrified Deku underneath Clock Town, further proving this theory correct. You should definitely cover this topic in one of your future videos.

Hey vortexxy, been watching all your theories and love them. Youve done a great job keep them coming. I was also wondering about the fairiers in ocarina of time and majoras mask, and if there is anything significant to their names. Like in ocarina navi is short for navigate. Also in majoras your fairy is tatl who gets split from tael, but if you put the fairies together you get tatltael or rather tattle-tail.

Please make a theory about the character Ravio in "a Link between worlds" and why he has the majoras mask! You see, since Ravio can travel between worlds like Link can, that means he have to love the sky. So since he loves the sky so much, that means he can see everything, which makes it alot easier for him to steal the majoras mask from his brother's grandma (later on becomes Ganondorf). And somehow his brotherforced Ganondorf to put the mask on Ravio. Some years pass and Ravio now IS... the moon... in... majors mask... Might not be the brightest theory out there, but it's something! Hope you can make a theory that's a little better than mine :D

most Zelda games take music really important almost like an item (bow and arrow,bombachu..) Seem interesting to me and almost all of them have strong magical abilities.
