I've always loved Vortexxy's theories on the lore. She would put so much thought into them. It really enriched the series for me and made me see the Zelda series as more of a connected series than just separate games telling their own story. VortexxyGaming, I wish you were still with us. I wonder what other truly enjoyable and entertaining theories you would have uploaded for us had you not been taken from this world far too soon. You will be remembered always VortexxyGaming. Thank you for all the amazing stories.

mind....Blown so TP Link awakened the sage of Light who in turn woke OOT Link while he was in the temple of light. Then OOT Link leaves Hyrule for Termina, then returns to find the kingdom under siege. Link helps Impa and Zelda restore peace, but not before knowing that he failed to protect his home. Impa and Link create the new military faction of the hylian guard, sets up many other devices all around hyrule, then dies sometime in battle. Then returns as a shade to help his decedent who is TP version Link learn new skills and weapons to finally destroy Ganon once and for all. WOW. Incredible.

Boy! That was a complicated theory. Hey, Vortexxy, I have an idea for editing the next one. When you had all the text on-screen from the Hyrule Historia, it was hard to know what you wanted us to read. Could you highlight the text you want to draw attention to in future videos? Also, I think circling important locations on some of the maps could help, too. It'll take some time to wrap my head around this theory. However, I really liked the idea of Twilight Princess Link going to the other timeline when entering his version of the temple. How do you come up with these theories? They're pretty cool.

If the castle town was originally in the Sacred Grove in Twilight Princess. Why the hylia Lake is to the north? Ithink after the evens of Ocarina of Time in the child time line, the royal family decided to move the temple to the lost woods because the temple of time was to vulnerable in the castle town, the can't move the sword from the pedestal but they can move the pedestal and decided to build a new temple, subsequently the forest damaged the temple with the pass of the time
@oftendreamdit8 жыл бұрын
I absolutely agree on your theory and have always believed in that theory since I first played TP. As for the ruins surrounding the Temple of Time, including the area that looks like the Town Market, I believe it used to be a fortified base that protected the temple itself, nothing more.

Well, the lake is a water body that can change with time. In a couple of centuries, a lake can dry completely and then reapear somewhere else. Instead, I like to base myself around Death Mountain because it's a volcano, and it's been the same from Skyward Sword, to Breath of the Wild, only changing slightly in appeareance. But that's because it's active. And you can't have an entire volcano just appear somewhere else without causing some catastrophe. And looking at the maps using Death Mountain as a zero point, it actually makes some sense. Sorry for my bad english

Wow . This is one of if not the best theory video I have seen for a zelda theory due to the connections of the temples in all three time lines . And I must admit the overlaying of the Windwaker chart to the OOT map was mind blowing and it answered one of the questions I had about WW and that was why the master sword was in the basement of the castle . Awesome Theory Vortex Keep up the good work and have a blessed day .
@samueleverson80889 жыл бұрын
This time theory has a name. It sounds to me a little like the Bootstrap paradox. A time traveler goes back in time to find that his ancestor, who he was trying to meet, actually was trapped and soon to be dead. The man saves his ancestor and his ancestor has a family that leads to the time traveler going back in time to save his ancestor again. But none of this makes sense because the time traveler should have never existed to begin the time line. They like to use this paradox in Doctor Who, with the Doctor being the only one who sees that everything is clearly impossible, but still happening.

DISCLAIMER: The following is a Topic Suggestion / Ramble that is vaguely related the the video What happened to the sages during the "Downfall Timeline"? Since Link makes it to the final battle against Ganon in the "Downfall Timeline" and everything that occurs in OoT still comes to pass, we know that the sages that were awoken still exist at the beginning of the new branch in the timeline. As you mention in your video. The next major event we know of in this timeline is The Imprisoning War. In this we are shown some very human looking maidens that are said to be the direct descendants of seven sages. (originally called wise men but then fixed by Nintendo) So we do have the clear issue of the races of some of these sages having changed completely. Ruto and Darunia. Plus the whole issue of whether or not Saria can even bare children. The most likely solution to this issue is that perhaps the seven sages from OoT were somehow dethroned so to speak. That Ganon perhaps "removed" them from power, and at some point seven new sages were awoken. All of which being Hylian as there were so very few other sentient beings by this point. This could explain how the seven maidens were all Hylian or at least humanoid. If that is how it happened, then exactly how much time elapsed between OoT and ALttP? And if all of this stuff happens, why is it that the villages in AoL are named after the OoT sages? (plus Mido of all people) Especially if their contributions were likely never actually realized if Ganon had killed them himself?

I'm new to your channel Vortex but I like it :) I have some theories of my own, how I believe what are called the Silent Grounds in Skyward Sword is the Sacred Real just like the Dark World in ALTTP. This means the Sacred Realm is actually kind of a parallel existence to Hyrule. Anyway, keep the good work and I think you could talk about the Seven Sages: how their lineage lives on in the different timelines, but that's just a thought ;)
@thomaspoteete411910 жыл бұрын
Vortex's sexy voice and brain are back! Awesome theorizing, but did the Interloper War really happen so soon? I thought it was directly before the events of OoT, with the Sheikah being the "Interlopers." Their escape to the Arbiter's Grounds being allowed by Ganondorf as payment for learning the location and use of the Triforce, which, in turn, gave Ganondorf a reason to swear fealty to the King and plot his takeover. The landmarks in Minish alone would take many, many years to change, whether by nature or force, as would driving off most of the monsters to make Hyrule as safe as it generally is in OoT. Perhaps there was a different war?
@VortexxyGaming10 жыл бұрын
The Interloper War being so early in the timeline is only my take on the whole thing. It could of course be different, but this is the way I see it :)
@thomaspoteete411910 жыл бұрын
True. May I suggest an explanation? Perhaps it was fought between the Hylians and demons like Girahim. I believe that, at one point, Girahim mentions other demons. I see it like a hierarchy, with Demise being the "king", a handful of princes like Girahim, and then Moblins and Bokoblins as the underlings. It's been a while since I've played, so perhaps I'm wrong, but if my memory serves me right, then that means that each Demon prince has their own army in which to utilize. The Goddesses made an entire planet and their inhabitants, so who's to say that there weren't other wars on other countries going on outside the borders of Hyrule, each being led by a different prince acting as the general for the sake of obliterating all of the inhabitants to allow Demise and his ilk to rule? Hyrule was just perhaps the preferred most desired for two reasons. One, it contained a practically omnipotent power, and two, it was the country that managed to defeat their King, twice. Hyrule would be very high on the priority list. Leading into Minish, this explains the expansive graveyard, explains the various monsters still running around unchecked, explains why the lands of Hyrule proper are very restricted to such a small area, why the Wind Tribe is still around (perhaps just being descendants of Skyloftians), and why the Royal family still associates with commoners. It's a very new country, certain traditions haven't been made yet. Though the Shiekah tribe is not present, perhaps that's simply because they are outside the boundaries of the land Hyrule has claimed so far, just like the Gerudo, who are perhaps just on the other side of the Swamp. So that's my hypothesis. The war that occurred post-Demise's Fall was with the other Demon Princes avenging their fallen King, leading to a Hylian victory, the beginning of a new government, which then began the expansion of lands and clashes with surrounding tribes. Hylians probably proudly voiced their faith, using the Triforce as the artifact of their religion, much like Christians with the Crucifix. However, the Hylians actually possessed and displayed their artifact, and with the stories that it held such great powers, it's only logical that the Sheikah, a tribe of sorcerers, shamans, and spies, would want such a power. If Kakariko was really their only land, they would, of course, want to expand. Hence, the Interloper War. Thoughts?
@Chaos89P10 жыл бұрын
Thomas Poteete I figured Ghirahim as a "lord," partially because he'd rather be called _"Lord_ Ghirahim." Of course, he had the power to back that title up.
@thomaspoteete411910 жыл бұрын
Chaos89P That's right, I'd forgotten. Still, though, he could be of among a handful of other Lords, each controlling their own faction. We only see Ghirahim's because he's the one in charge of Hyrule's conquest, and perhaps the most powerful of them and likely to find a way to resurrect their King. Hell, the guy proved that he was the man for the job by actually succeeding in resurrecting Demise. The biggest flaw in my theory at this moment is proving whether or not Ghirahim actually alludes to other Demons beyond his king. I'll go see if I can find his script and try to find out. If so, I've got some traction.
@thomaspoteete411910 жыл бұрын
I've seen most of the scenes involving Ghirahim, and so far, there's no exact mention of other "Demon Lords," but he does mention, on his and Link's first encounter, that he's searching for Zelda "for us," and that "we need her." While this could also just mean him and Demise, he tends to refer to Demise as his king and master, being very formal and respectful when mentioning him. Using "we and us" seems so informal of him, but doesn't give credit to my theory, but nor does it disprove it. Ghirahim calls himself the Lord of this land, which Link refers to as the surface, so while that could mean the entirety of the surface world, it could also be just the lands that Hylia was in charge of. Again, no proof for or against. I still believe that it if likely that there are others, or he could just be the second-in-command. A war against demons, however, is still likely. It's been shown that they can govern themselves through typical tribalistic hierarchies (such as the Moblin boss, who acts as a chieftain), so even if there are no other demon lords, the Moblins and Bokoblins could still rise up against the people who overthrew their masters, which would, of course, lead to a war for a force powerful enough to obliterate an entire side and resurrect powerful beings. So all in all, just speculation, but logical speculation due to a lack of in-game references.
@headmasterhastings48844 жыл бұрын
Makes perfect sense when you consider the child timeline cannot happen without the adult timeline, since Link was sent back from the adult timeline to the child timeline. The child timeline as we know it in MM and TP is a branch off the adult timeline, and cannot exist without OOT Link being sent back. So it makes perfect sense for TP Link to be sent back to the missing 7 years in OOT, despite being part of an alternate timeline, as it's part of the temporal causality loop. It's really timey wimey. lol.

Even if I don't always agree 100% with your speculation everything you post is based on evidence from the games themselves and Hyrule Historia which is so refreshing to see. It seems that most of the extremely popular videogame theories don't do this and jump to really big conclusions that don't make sense. Although in saying that for the most part I agree with your ideas. You have a lot of interesting insight and connections between games and it makes a very interesting watch. I can't wait until Zelda Wii U comes out to see the connections to old games, and now that you're doing these videos you'll probably pick up on a lot more than most people. Also these videos inspired me to pay attention to the small details in Majora's Mask 3D. Even if most don't contribute to big theories it's amazing how much of an eye for detail the game had and how much more it has now with the graphical updates. For example I noticed a Gerudo symbol in the throne for the pirate fortress, but I'm not sure if it was there in the original. I hope you do the other Majora's Mask temples and other locations soon, especially the Moon!! I'd love ot see your opinions and ideas on that. After watching your videos and learning about spectacle wrong, I also I think the pathway to the goron village is supposed to be spectacle rock. It also is shown in Pokemon Black2/White2 which I don't hear many people mention. (Sorry if this is long this is what I had to say about ALL your videos combined, and I didn't comment much until now.)

Someone else, & many others, had timeline theories as well. But I really enjoyed yours a lot! I like your voice too! It makes listening a lot better. There is a video with the official timeline fact from the historia, but it was mundane so a lot of facts I toned out. TBH the first Zelda game I played was a Link To The PAst when it first came out! I was only 3/4. The last I played was OoT, which is my favorite! Couldn't get into MM, but now I want to play it to just complete. The TWP I played for a bit but didn't care for it. Awesome video as always! You have the most mind-blowing theories I know of :) I especially liked the one with the Temple of Time actually being the Temple of Light from the past adult timeline, but I don't think the theory about the Armogohma quite fits. Armogohma is a Twilit Arachnid, and also holds a Mirror Shard which was hidden away by Zant, suggesting Armogohma was either put there by him, or it was transformed into a twilit creature by him. If the latter is the case, your theory about adult timeline Ganondorf creating her holds up though. In any case, the problem is that a past temple in another timeline is a really obscure place to get to, unless you have knowledge about it. Zant most likely heard about it from Ganondorf, but this timeline's Ganondorf couldn't possibly know that his other timeline's self had seized the temple, making it ripe for the taking. All of this, plus the fact that Ganondorf possessed the Triforce of Power during his execution, leads me this theory: What if Ganondorf, during the Gerudo-Hylian war, actually was somehow able to break into the Temple of Light and the Sacred Realm without Link's presence and obtaining the Triforce before he was subdued? Perhaps he had many small Gohmas with him, and after he was taken by the Hylians, one Gohma (Armogohma) came to be the queen and laid dormant inside the Temple until Zant came by and transformed it. Most likely, the Hylians decided it was best to seal all the monsters now occupying it inside, that is until TP Link came and opened it again. This way, Ganondorf knew of the location, and had no reason to go back to it (which he probably would have intended to do, if he didn't already have the Triforce) other than placing the shard there, which he instructed Zant to do. Not too far from your own theory, but taking place in the current timeline instead of the adult timeline. I might have missed some crucial details, and if that's the case, I'm sorry. Sorry for the long post, also :P Keep making amazing content :D Cheers!

Zant knowing about a time portal which can only be activated by the master sword, and still having access to it, is already a weird plothole. Ganondorf would know about the master sword seal, but he would not be able to breach it. And neither would Zant. He would have had to find out about some way to circumvent the seal entirely. Armogohma is a Twilit creature, meaning it is 'lighted by Twilight'. It implies it got corrupted by Twilight and was a different creature before. I know this part of the theory is a bit more speculative ^^

***** Yeah you're absolutely right, it is mind-boggling. Oh well, it's a good thing the Zelda series doesn't rely on story to be fun :)

Wow Vortex that was enlightening. That would make so much sense if Twilight Link entered the Temple of Light when The Hero of Time was sleeping for seven years. Mind has been blown. Though it is a kind of paradox if this action was necessary to awaken Rauru, Because Twilight link was probably around a hundred years after the Hero of Time. Kinda hurting my brain thinking about it.

+Darth Shaydo but if Ocarina link is the hero of _time_, and he traveled through time, and Twilight link is the reincarnation of Ocarina link, then... *explodes*
@nworder4life8 жыл бұрын
+Tol Beepies He's not the reincarnation of OOT Link, he is his blood descendant.
@AarturoSc8 жыл бұрын
Darth Shaydo It actually makes no sense since this Link is a descendant of OoT Link, when he was sent back in time before he ever could pulled the Master Sword and open the path to the Sacred Realm.

Dr. Miles Manners Yea, kinda like the Raaru paradox.

I like the theory about the Temple of light, yet of course, occam's razor would suggest, and from what I understand is confirmed, that they wanted to have a temple of light temple originally in OoT, but didn't due to a lack of time. So they just gave you the medallion.

Another great theory! It was very well made and put together! :D But I have a question. At the end of Ocarina of time when Zelda teleports Link back to the past and the Master Sword was put back in the pedestal, how is the Master sword in the Adult Timeline in Wind Waker? Wasn't it sent back in the past with OOT Link?

Man. It still boggles my mind at how complicated the history of Hyrule is, and all because one stupid princess wanted to get the Triforce before Ganondorf (if you think about it, Ganon never would have succeeded in getting into the Sacred Realm,he never would have been able to lift the sword out of the pedestal and so therefore the Triforce would have remained protected, all the time-split stuff would never have happened. So really, it was all Zelda's fault!). Heh heh, but all ranting aside, great vid. :D

I put the entire list of songs used in the description. The song playing at that point is Twilight Princess Orchestra Piece #1.

can u do one about how the maps of the different time lines relate to each other? when i compare the maps of Oot and TP the locations of things seam to be mixed up
@antoinest-jean95726 жыл бұрын
the interlopers are basically link from alternate universes, he goes dark side after Midna destroys the mirror. Link madly in love wants to get her back. Link becomes the villain. thats why early in twilight princess you get to see the interlopers looking for the fused shadow peaces.

Another great video, well worth the wait! I've been playing through Majora's Mask 3D, and I came to wonder about heart pieces and containers. What exactly are they, and how is it random people have them?
@PaxIesus9 жыл бұрын
Another great video, Vortex, well done. Question for you - one which I'm sure you've gotten quite a lot - have you seen "The Game Theorist's" video on Link being dead in Majora's Mask? If not, I'd recommend it for viewing pleasure, and the possibility of doing either a rebuttal or an "in addition to" video. If you HAVE seen it and are tired of people asking that question, then my apologies. You do great work, and for that, I am now a subscriber.

PaxIesus I have seen it, and yes I get many questions about it, but I do not believe it is possible. Check out The One's videos for all the arguments that I subscribe to as well :)
