The Gibson Motorsport R32 GT-R's by the end of 1992 were the fastest R32 Group A racecars in the world. They were beating the Dick Johnson SIerras (which were the fastest Sierras in the world at that time), despite having weight and turbo boost penalties slapped on them to attempt to bring them back to the field. With the turbo restriction lifted, the Gibson GTR's would have had close to 740HP in qualifying trim. They were so fast that Nismo Japan asked Gibson Motorsport not to bring them to the Fuji 500 because they would have humiliated the local factory-backed teams.

The R34 GT-R in Gran Turismo 2 sounds a lot like this R32 GT-R. I remember the 1st time I saw 2 Fast 2 Furious I was anticipating that the R34 GT-R would sound just like this R32 GT-R. Although the sound we got from 2 Fast 2 Furious was still a great sound in its own right. The sound we hear here is would've fit the 2 Fast 2 Furious R34 GT-R better IMO.
