My dad was a big fan of Burl Ives. I remember him playing his records when I was a child in the 1950's. I remember too, him singing The Big Rock Candy Mountain on a children's wireless programme. Then "The Big Country" great film and the shoot out in Blanco Canyon. He was such a presence in that film. I loved his style of singing and a such a good actor. So talented and natural effortless style. I remember all these songs. Children loved these. Oh! And The Big Rock Candy Mountain and Therecwas an Old Lady. Omg they're all coming back. Thank you Burl and for this being posted. Wish my dad was here to see it! I've always found Burl Ives underrated. Hope more can be posted on KZbin. Happy that his children have seen this and given them joy! 👌❤️🤗⚡️🎶🙏🏻

Thanks for the MOVIE TITLE REMINDER; YES, YES ACTING TOO. HOW CUTE! Yes, we had a 288 acre farm in Illinois, and we always had to go out to PRIME THE PUMP to water the horses! Great tasting water , by the way; hope that continues! Whenever I hear artists such as Burl Ives, I think about how MOST of the contestants on those CONTESTS wherein they compare apples to oranges to find their winners...and how EACH SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO AT LEAST PLAY ONE INSTRUMENT ADEQUATELY. Yelling in microphones in sexy dresses, has never been considered to be TALENT by most of the experts! RIP MR. IVES. Didn't Mr. Ives also sing a rendition of "Little Girls?" John Prine as well as SoundCloud's CHUCK AARON come to mind, for their great expertise in LYRICS with appropriate accompaniments. Chuck has a great song about we the baby boomer age crowd..." I remember him that way also. He was the narrator voice and singer for the original Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Christmas Special. My parents also had some of his records. My mother would sing along with him.
