Taliesin Jaffe deserves whatever the voice acting equivalent of an Oscar is for his performance in this episode, the anger, the anguish, like, it’s unbelievably well delivered, above and beyond what you’d expect from most cartoons, most A list film actors even, seriously, hooooly moly.

The voice acting equivalent of an Oscar would be BTVA, and he got one for his anime-related VO work. However, for the most part he works as an ADR director, not a voice actor per se. Whatever works best for him, I guess.

I agree completely about Taliesin, but can we also talks about Matt as Orthax!? Like, I know there have to be some effects on his voice, but still, holy shit.

@@theanyktos Orthax with post-production effects in the animated show < Clarota in the original campaign. That mind flayer voice sent some shivers down my spine 🙂

My roommate and I watched through this series together and this entire episode was our favorite. When they all gathered at the cloud top, I was like "no! they're not gonna do what I think are they!?" and she was like "do what?" the only thing I did was just point at the screen and replied, "just keep watching". Her eyes when those dragons were shown and then cut to black at the end she looks at me and goes "FOUR!?" I laughed and screamed! She has no idea what is coming (never seen any CR) and I am so excited for her to see this arc!!! CHROMA CONCLAVE, LET'S GO!!!

I'm sure there's something more to the way Vax healed Keyleth, something untold that will come back later to take the payment. Oh boy, can't wait to see my lovely lady in black.

I could see that cliffhanger coming--everything leading up to it was way too neat and tidy to end on (of course I still freaked the hell out because the way they did it was *incredible*). But damn, the wait is gonna be PAINFUL.

SEASON 2!!!!!! CHROMA CONCLAVE!!! This is gonna be so effing exciting, AHHHH I can’t wait!! Season 2 may very well end up having more episodes than this season in order to fit more in the Chroma Conclave arc, so I’m hopeful that with the Amazon funding we will see more episodes.
@MrKChusker2 жыл бұрын
Omg i hope it’s a longer season or Chroma Conclave is two seasons otherwise I think it will rushed. That being said I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt because season 1 exceeded my already high expectations.
@TeroTheShortOne2 жыл бұрын
I firmly believe Chroma Conclave would need at least three seasons to do it full justice, and I sincerely hope that’s what we get.
@Joshb02132 жыл бұрын
I can see them breaking the CC into two seasons at least. The Umbrasyl fight for the midseason finale, Vorugal for the finale, then saving Thordak and Raishan for the next season. The do need time to fit in the hunting of the vestiges.

The art in the last episode was amazing! Your reactions are my favorite I've seen. This was such an amazing reaction series I enjoyed this so much, it really added to the excitement of TLOVM for me each week. Thank you for doing this.

The animation and choreography of the Pike/Sylas fight was incredible! Also enjoy the twist where Keyleth is the first of the team to nearly die whereas she was the last in the livestream. I really hope that if they do the Percy/Ripley story it means that a certain eccentric alchemist NPC makes an appearance (and continues to learn from his mistakes!)
@cwengel222 жыл бұрын
Ripley's return is during the Chroma Conclave arc, prior to the Thordak fight, so it's possible we'll see her next season.

Sam was one of the writers for this episode so we can thank him for that Vex'leth moment xD Damn I can't wait for season 2!

I for one really hope that they take (at least) 2 seasons to do the Conclave Arc. There's just too much gold that would have to be cut for time otherwise. Here's how I'd split up season 2: The attack on, destruction of and escape from Emon (2 episodes: initial panic and destruction, search for Gilmore) Finding out about the Vestiges, finding the Deathwalkers Ward and Pyrah, though I'd switch it around for convenience (4 episodes: finding out about the vestiges and going to Pyrah w/ cliffhanger on the destruction, fight in Pyrah (+aftermath), fight in the sunken Tomb w/cliffhanger on Vex's death, Vex's resurrection and Vax's bargain) Kamaljiori, Mythcarver and Craven Edge (1 episode w/cliffhanger on Grog's death) Westruun aka Grog vs Kevdak (2 episodes: dealing with Carven Edge+setup for Westruun, big battle) Umbrasyl (3 episodes: setup+battle in Westruun, battle at Gatshadow, restoration of Westruun) You could maybe also end with the Hotis cliffhanger. And you'd have to squeeze Kaylie in there somewhere, since we've kind of skipped her now. Maybe she shows up in Westruun, instead of Emon? For season 3: Hotis (1 episode: betrayal, battle and the errecting the illusion shield over Whitestone) The Feywild (2 episodes: Syngorn and daddy issues, Saundor the dick tree) Ank'Harel & Glintshore (2 episodes: J'mon Sa'Ord, Ripley w/cliffhanger on Percy's death) Raishan reveal (1 episode: Percy's resurrection & Raishan reveal) Vorugal & Yenk (1 episode: what it says on the tin) Fire Plane (1 episode: shorten that whole trip, but keep Cenokir) Daxio, Siege of Emon (1 episode: has to have Allura's feeblemind and Kima's worry) Thordak (1 episode) Raishan (2 episodes: trip over the island of viscan including upside down falling zombies, fight with Raishan maybe cliffhanger on Scanlan's death? Or his resurrection. Or his, you know.) I'm also interested to see how they'll handle the trials of the Aramente, since we've skipped over the part where they did her trial in Pyrah, and Terra happened completely off-screen.

I know we're all excited about the arrival of the four dragons, but let us not forget the spinning orb that eats people, or the blood-sucking, talking sword Gorg adopted. So many loose ends! OTOH I wouldn't be disappointed if season 2 ignored all of the above and told the story of how Vox Machina came to be in the first place, so long as there's a season 3.

For those who would like to check out the original campaigns, here is a more or less "completionist" set of videos to binge in your spare time (when you are not busy with your other responsibilities) - you might need to bookmark those or copy somewhere into your notes: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eoqlfmajrrdsZ5Y "Exandria: An Intimate History" is a short 10-minute video that serves as the definitive chronological reference for the in-game universe of Critical Role campaigns and the works of fiction associated with it. It also provides a glimpse of the Exandrian cosmology, theology, history, geography and political structure of the world in which the characters go on their adventures. kzbin.info/aero/PLQRE5geahRYYCgnbidlk-XVIPaob7P2-x Campaign 1 (Vox Machina), with the obligatory inclusion of chronologically relevant one-shot game sessions featuring familiar characters, discussion panels from various conventions etc. (the Briarwoods arc starts at ep. 24, if you want to revisit that specific section). Be advised on the following issues: - the first episodes of the show have blurred character intros (fair use technicalities). In the first episodes they didn't have their own official illustrator, so used reference pictures off the internet. Unfortunately, the Geek & Sundry overlay covered the names of the artists, and it appeared as if CR didn't give them credit where credit was due, so those artists threatened to sue CR for copyright infringement. While the issue resolved itself later, with both the onboarding of Kit Buss and tons of fan art pouring in, in these earlier episodes the intro artwork is blurred out. A version of character intros with visuals is available at: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZOUoI2jhdejesk - audio issues in the first 4 episodes. Viewers are strongly advised against using headphones to prevent eardrum damage. Closed captions provided with the video can help alleviate the problem. - one member of the original cast left the show after ep. 26 of the campaign and is no longer involved in anything related to Critical Role. For this reason, his character never appears in the animated series (as it's his, not CR's, intellectual property). While most of the drama regarding said player happened behind the scenes, it still hurt the community. The details about the incident are googleable, however, proceed with caution. kzbin.info/aero/PLX5UqtXlg76n7cwlGrJsQNAI9oU_6g7ej Campaign 2 (The Mighty Nein) - same world, about 20 years later, new adventuring party. kzbin.info/aero/PL1tiwbzkOjQzSnYHVT8X4pyMIbSX3i4gz Exandria Unlimited - a "filler" mini-campaign between C2 and C3, featuring Aabria Iyengar as the DM and Matt Mercer as one of the players. kzbin.info/aero/PL1tiwbzkOjQydg3QOkBLG9OYqWJ0dwlxF Campaign 3 - current; ongoing; updated weekly; includes lots of spoilers for and cross-references with C1.
