The air missiles on the Deredeo with the mega-las has done work for me. One of the missiles sent a vindi up in flames, Las 6'd out a LR and on the next turn shot down a lightning. I'm liking them.

You forgott something very important about the AA missiles: It is not one weapon but four seperate. And walkers can shoot all their weapons at once without negatives. So if you really want to make sure to shoot down that flyer with interceptor, then there is no kill like overkill. And you can get all the missiles out at once making it a little less hurtfull, if the enemy destroys the Deredeo turn 2. In addition, many vehicles of Space Marines have sides of 11 or 12. 14s are definitvely out there but rarely more then one per game. Four shots S8 against 11 will ruin that pesky Scorpius or Laser-Vindi in no time (and those you do face often).

I do mention in the video how you could in theory use them to pop side armour on tanks, but I also ask is it a wise investment to do so. there are so many tanks of av12 and higher out there and so many with invul saves of some description that is makes it a worrying option.

@@TheOuterCircle You do, no question about that. I just think it can be well worth the points considering the alpha strike of up to 4 missiles at once, even when that is all you get in the entire game. Most vehicles do not have invuls or cover against them and points wise even popping a Rhino gets you back the investment (granted it would not the best use for the missiles). And as often as there is only AV12 and invulvs of 4+ around, there is a Rinho chassis, a flyer or a Cortus waiting to be annihilated with a good chance in one volley.

It has a definite Destroid Defender look to it. Feels more like a vehicle than a Dreadnought. I'm tempted to get one.

Another situational use of the air defence missiles is jet bikes... AP2 and ignores jink saves... 2s to hit, 2s to kill. Much better odds than most other options in the game. Sure it caps out at 4 kills there but if your meta has a lot of jetbikes, or white scars players... Might be worth it. 35pts a bike means it will at least pay for itself. Can't really argue how useful the other missiles are though. Like you said, picking off the stragglers of a tactical squad 60" away is a potentially game winner. My main gripe with the deredeo is that it's default loadout is pretty decent, but the upgrades seem to forget this. The lascannons for example at 50pts would be totally bearable if you hadn't already paid the baked in points cost of a perfectly good set of autocannons. Not to say they aren't viable, but when your dreadnought starts to cost as much as land raider I always get suspicious.

In 40K, the Atomantic Pavaise has a 6” bubble of defense, but provides a flat, unstackable 5++. It’s worth it if you’re running Havocs/Devastators or Rapiers next to it, but other than that, you want to take the aioli missile launcher.

In my gaming group the Deredeo was known as the 'deredere' dreadnought because it's cute and overpowered as hell in local meta. Also because of funny wordplay.

The Pavaise really is situational and you take it for the fluff. I could see stacking your Siege Tyrants around one for a nice little fire support node.

In 40k the pavese gives a 5+ inv within 6" to all models, and it costs 25pts if I'm correct. I don't understand why they didn't make the same thing in 30k

Looking at running a deredeo with iron warriors. Would the automatic pavise give tyrant terminators a 3 plus invulnerable? Would it only be models within or a unit with a model within? Thanks!

Now i know this is not the video for this, but i gotta comment as i did on one of your older videos (idk if you read comments on those) Check out the chaos range on Gdubbs website. And compare the newer releases with multipart sets Now don't quote me on this, but i believe the Venomcrawler doesn't exist as a full set. And i know for a fact the new oblits don't. You can only get them in a big chaos bundle with more or less shadowspear content plus a codex. And yes, only 2 oblits. So if you want 6, thats 3 of those, aka 3 characters, 6 greater possessed and 30 chaos SM as well as 3 venomcrawlers. I know for a fact you don't need more than (say) 2 characters, or more than 2 possessed (as they look the same) Also thats 3 times the same 2 models for obliterators. Gege gw Anyway, sorry for the rant, i would like to hear your thaughts on this some time as it really makes me angry and i don't even play chaos. But as an army i would like to have one day, it makes me angry how more than half a year went by, and the only release oblits saw was as a part of a bundle of other shit you don't necessarely need

Are you shooting with it, or standing still? DO you have buffs for your walkers or not? Does your opponent? Can you get the dreadnought there if you have to walk?

behind the times on this one. but man the miss comments on the air defense missiles against crap like javlins and jet bikes. no jinks? all day every day baby. for only 24 the ability to give a big f u to javliens and jet bikes and basically shut down flyers(sure a xhiphon might have chaff, but in my experience almost always player forget and or skip the point upgrade for them since its rarely used) is pure win all day ever day over the heavy 3 garlic shooter.
