Coming out of a Roadtrek RS Adventurous that we owned for 14 years. One of the first things I did was order a valet key from MB. That key can only be used to manually unlock a door and doesn't have any electronics. I used it when we went swimming and simply for walks and so on. Easy to have in your pocket and would have been helpful here. Your videos are terrific with the exception of the fact that we're 14 months into waiting for our new Unity. Thank you so much for all the great information.

Great idea. I think the new key has a hidden manual key inside the fob, so gonna check that out.

I'm a previous Class A motorcoach owner (42 ft) and I always got reservations all along my trips. Today I understand that perhaps due to Covid everybody and their brother bought RV's. The only time many of them can travel is on weekends and holidays. We don't have children at home and we always found that there's no such thing as a quiet and peaceful weekend rv-ing due to the full family weekenders. Therefore, we traveled mostly at times everyone else was working and in school. That worked great for us and reservations were much easier to get.

We just bought a 2018 FX and the contacts for the house door one was stuck and rusted. The dealer fixed it and door lock now works with the fob.:)

Most key fobs have a key in them to open the doors when the battery goes dead. I'm sure that the Sprinter does also.

They do, but I locked the fob in the coach, so not good.

We thought we locked ourselves out while boondocking in a national park in November on a Saturday night at 11pm. Luckily we found the keys in a back pocket. As soon as we got home I had duplicates of all keys made for hiding. But we also installed a keypad lock on the house access door wired into the 12v system so no batteries to die on us.

@@Pagosa it was a RVLock.com lock (RVLock 4.0 full metal right hand w/integrated keypad for RVs) and we also purchased the backplate decal. Our 2021 LTV Wonder RL is with the RV mechanic who is installing two additional Battleborn batteries along with other mods so I will take a pic when we get it back. There is also a remote which I haven’t set up yet. But having a keypad is so handy, love it. Converting it to 12v was something I saw in a KZbin video. My concern was that the batteries would die and it would leave us in the lurch. 12v is so much better.

Great tips! We are also going to get a spare key for our Unity RL. This weekend in Granby, Colorado we almost locked ourselves out with our 3 year old inside. The front doors automatically lock if you press unlock but don’t open a door. I was also wondering what does happen if you over fill tue fresh water. Glad to know if just dumps out on the ground.

I don’t have any fancy key fobs for my 2015 Leisure travel van lol just good old keys...and I keep spare keys wrapped up in a piece of foil in a Ziploc bag in the wet bay...I always fill my freshwater tank fill it overfills....lol...Good advice about black tanks I’ve seen people do that I’ve never done it yet...just finished 3000 Carefree maintenance free miles around the country now back to Chico Ca.where it’s 109 today....😎

Oasis in Amarillo. Super clean and concrete pads with a Loves next door for morning fuel up. Sometimes full, so make reservations

our LTV's have a low voltage cutoff in the surge protector....so that parks power was just low voltage......

Check the contacts on the bottom inside of the door Put a tester on the 2 contacts on the frame side and push your lock unlock on the keys it should flash if not it needs reprogrammed If it does flash clean the contacts or you have a bad actuator on the lock

At highway speeds. If you stick to 65, you will see 17-19 and 70+ it is still about 15-16. So much lighter on the wallet on every angle with this over a class A. Let me know what you decide to do!

That is a makeshift thing my wife came up with, as Roxie has to ride on her lap and up high. It's actually using the arm cushion from the couch of the LTV

Just discovered your channel. We purchased our fx last year as the pandemic hit and just now getting to use it. Thanks for sharing your experience, we will definitely be buying a spare key to put in an outside compartment! I noticed your wife had the dog on her lap when traveling, how does that work out? We have a small 15 lb Boston Terrier that I crated behind the driver seat on 6 hour trips but she is so stressed when we arrive she hardly eats for 10 days. I’m thinking about trying a short trip to try out having her secured to my waist sitting on my lap or beside me in the passenger seat too. It never occurred to me the dog wouldn’t like traveling.😳

Many people talk about securing their dog while traveling, but I think that's easier said than done. We have one dog that sleeps the entire drive time between us on a dog bed and then the one you see in the video is either on her lap or lays in a dog bed in the house section. They love the RV and your dog may do a bit better if you switch things up a bit.

No, the surge protector is in a really difficult place to get to and I knew it was the power pole and nothing in my coach.

Hi, we're interested in a B plus rv. The floor plan we like has one slide out like this one, right behind driver. My husband is 6'3" and we're wondering if you have enough leg room when slide is in and you're driving. You look tall, so we were wondering.

Absolutely. I'm 6'2", so very similar. The slide is at least 10" away from the seat when fully back. Which model are you looking at?
