This is the one number (if any ) that decided me on playing the bass guitar as my primary instrument. Rock cannot function properly without it.

I can’t recall any other LZ tune where JPJ is playing with such abandon. Most everything he did was excellent, but straight forward. This was such a departure. Almost like he was just noodling around effortlessly and found the wormhole to the undisputed best blues bass line ever.

THE TOUGHEST BASS LINE IN ROCK LEARNING IT NOTE FOR NOTE IS A TALL CHALLENGE FOR THE MOST ACCOMPLISSED AND EXPERIENCED BASSISTS. I'M ONE OF THEM. THIS IS MY BUCKETLIST BASS LINE TO MASTER.
@gutbucket2604 жыл бұрын
Word. JPJ was laying down some technically tough grooves back in the day. Never thought he got enough credit for the stuff he did in Zep. Great keyboard player too. Met him at Merlefest in North Carolina and he was jamming on mandolin in the parking lot with some local bluegrass pickers. Head and shoulders above Jimmy Page's generic mandolin playing. Very down to earth guy, too.

Hours and hours of transcribing, as well as months of practising to get it to sound decent. Have fun with this one, I know I did, and it kept me out of trouble for quite a bit of time lol. Enjoy!
