We all know where their influences come from, but they're not copying anybody. They've created something new with old ingredients and they master their instruments. And above all, they revalorise the art of singing. Hats off to The Lemon Twigs !

I agree with Alan. Nowhere near Ramones, LOL. Also, drummer "looks" like Keith Moon but please. That being said, I do like these kids and I hope they keep making music and grow in their style, as borrowed as it may be. I'd rather see this than some other kid pushing play on his MacBook, any day.

My father would have liked them too. And he died aged 83 in 2004! I saw them live yesterday and the average audience age seemed to be maybe late 20s but with a scattering of people more my age (62) and I was chatting to a lady in her early 70s so the appeal is very wide I think. Quite remarkable.

I thought these guys were just another, off-the-shelf band, and initially dismissed them, but having listened to the album, I can confirm I am a convert. Some people are drawing parallels with other bands, Beach Boys, The Band etc. I can see what they're saying, but I think this sound is just completely different. It's a weird mix of styles with a kind of misdirection which keeps you on your toes. Class. I don't think they're going to massive, not that they're not good, but that the plebs that direct and shape musical fashions just won't get it. Shame on them.

One thing I have noticed about the Lemon Twigs that I have not seen since the 60s: growth. Massively fast growth and a desire to keep growing. Four lads from Liddypool went from Love Me Do to I Am the Walrus in five years. Brian and Michael come the closest to that phenomenal morphing.
