Solomon has been associated with both exoteric and esoteric wisdom - especially magic and control of demons - for millennia. This Episode of Esoterica explores the history of Solomonic magic and the it's most famous expression in the Lemegeton or The Lesser Key of Solomon. We will deep dive into the history of Solomon as a sorcerer, the development of Solomonic Magic, and the composition and structure of the major parts of the Lesser Key, especially the infamous book of demonic conjuring the Goetia.
Check out the updated video here - • The Lesser Key of Solo...
Check out Angela's episode: • GOETIA & THEURGY. Key ...
Recommended Reading:
Elizabeth M. Butler - Ritual Magic - 978-0271018461 - Best academic study of Solomonic magic, though getting a bit dated
Joseph H. Peterson - The Lesser Key of Solomon - 978-1578632206 - Best edition of the text though Skinner and Rankine's Goetia of Dr. Rudd - 978-0738723556 - has an excellent introduction, well-worth close study

This is the most fascinating, eloquent, and intellectually stimulating pieces of content on this subject I've ever come across. I watched both videos, and walked away with a deeper understanding of the material than I ever have before; I sincerely appreciate the contribution to the academic community. I also equally appreciate the objective and purely educational approach to the material. It is difficult for people like myself (who have no personal investment in "magic" or "demonology") to find sources of information that aren't presented by individuals who have strong viewpoints and personal beliefs that either align with, or are diametrically opposed to, these ideas. At the end of the day, I don't care to watch a video narrated by a person who is obsessed with magic and demons; I prefer to watch a video from someone who is obsessed with proper research and dissemination of information with the intention of educating and enriching the community. Thank you so much for falling into the latter category.

Bruh, if you are real seeking look for things that are not religious. I mean people have been in communion with god since people existed right? There's been methods tried and tested for thousands of years. Such as yoga, kabbalah, shamanism, and alchemy. That's just a few to get you started. Though there's a lot more out there. Also if you just want the cliff notes version of stuff, there's a god/goddess combo and the goddess is able to be contacted through your heart center with a deep longing love to commune. But also you need to work on yourself and your imagination to make a stronger connection. To be put simply and briefly.

It's great to have a more comprehensive take on the various texts from a wider, scholarly, perspective (though Blish was a scholar of much of the material, but he tended to be a little close-mouthed on them, almost in the spirit of "Please, for your own safety, don't try this at home").

One of The things that kept me on the path of studying esoteric things was a poster from The Mars Volta I got at a show which was covered with seals. Somehow I figured out they were Solomonic seals and found a copy of the lesser key online. I remember struggling with what was written there, with no concept of demon names or astrology of my own, and i honestly recoiled at the notion of sacrificing birds. The Mars Volta's music isn't for everyone, but the concept of "The Bedlam in Goliath" is full of black magic and intrigue.

@@talanorth8388 It is fiction. There is no such thing as spirits, demons, astrology, spells etc. I mean, sure they exist in the sense that humans have invented the mythology, but it’s not real. It’s all theatre. Maybe the scientific method was invented by people who believed in such things, but thankfully it has replaced all the nonsense. Also, things like physics, biology, chemistry and mathematics aren’t invented, they are discovered. They have always existed. We have always been made up of cells. Our bodies have always been the same, and as science progresses we will discover even more fascinating things. Neuroscience is particularly fascinating. The fact that our brains run on a binary system, just like a computer, is amazing. Unfortunately there is no room for spirits or incantations. I will say people in the past had a hell of an imagination.

Super interested where video gaming and pop culture derives their references which led me to looking into the Goetia (Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and Final Fantasy XIV).. also having purchased Lo Scarabeo's Goetia: Tarot in the Darkness (which ironically I received today). Came across this video which I found super informative. Subscribed! Will likely be picking up Lo Scarabeo's Notoria Tarot.. Will be watching for any future video on the Ars Notoria.

Still finding my way through your lectures. Since I have a significant amount of Celtic family connections, I always think of the Shamir as a Wyrm.. or limbless dragon anyway.. and then my mind jumps to Shakespeare and the “ king going a’ progress through the guts of a beggar”, having eaten of the fish that ate of the worm that eat of the king. At which point my odd conjecture of implied eschatology comes Full Circle back to Yeshua. Thanks for sharing your considerable knowledge and insights, dear Dr. Having grown up in my own share of old Southern homes and travailing through thunderstorms in these similar settings, it makes me wonder if our individual imaginations are not secretly being led by candlelight to Explore the darker corners in order to reassure ourselves that the Light.. Ultimately Triumphs. Blessings! Much Love. Thanks 🙏 again!

Melek Sulaymaaaaaaaan! He received the Ring of Naqshbandiya. And from there, every single thing he wanted - if he even just THOUGHT IT - it manifested into reality. The power he wielded was from the KNOWLEDGE that God had given to Adam, but Adam failed to fully use properly - God installed the knowledge of ALL THINGS into the heart of Man, but Man has his vision diverted through the seductions of the Shayateens. Sulaymaan then submitted to the Goddess Wisdom, and she taught him how to think properly, after which he tossed out all the stupid nonsense about Islam and all the lies of the hadiths and everything Arabic (those with a 'Rab' - lord; aka those who are lawless), and broke all of the Laws of Moses (which Moses stole from Hammurabi anyway), and from then on he respected all the true gods in the High Council (Elohim), and never ever again said Shahada. His Kingdom lives forever and only the wise may enter there.

@@interqward1 truly some bullshit. That's why there's 2 billion Muslims and a few of these demon worshipping wise men who have the next life awaiting for them full of punishment. And they followed what recite(d) the devils over (the) kingdom (of) Sulaiman. And not disbelieved Sulaiman [and] but the devils disbelieved, they teach the people [the] magic and what was sent down to the two angels in Babylon, Harut and Marut. And not they both teach any one unless they [both] say, "Only we (are) a trial, so (do) not disbelieve." But they learn from those what [they] causes separation with it between the man and his spouse. And not they (could) at all [be those who] harm with it any one except by permission (of) Allah. And they learn what harms them and not profits them. And indeed they knew that whoever buys it, not for him in the Hereafter any share. And surely evil (is) what they sold with it themselves, if they were (to) know.

Greetings! I am a Jamaican Philosophy graduate and a law school dropout but more fundamentally I consider myself a spiritual anthropologist and archaeologist. A Pan African and Afro futurologist who has recently realized my Sephardi Jewish descent. Hence as a philosopher, a Rastafari, a fan of Matisyahu. I find your work edifying and educational. I appreciate your calm and grounded approach. I find lots of blogs on these matters tend to be rather tangential and meandering and hysterical and all about the sensationalism. I appreciate the sober approach. I appreciate as well introducing me to religion for breakfast and the Islam vlog as I am always interested in other religions treatment of various aspects of our existential condition, especially religions of Abrahamic descent, which Rastafari happens to be apart and maybe enters at the juncture of Sheba and Solomon though you seemed to dismiss it. But in general I appreciate this type of discourse and hope you platform grows!

Demons on the left and demons on the right. Perhaps right and left don’t really relate to good and evil. Biblical and occult signs of ‘on the right’ means what is under control but the one ‘ on the left’ determines what we are controlled by it. You can easily recognize this theory in biblical painting. In fact the spirits concealed on rings, tattoos.. that are in the left arm per-determine our actions. Exemple having a watch on the left wrist signify that the person is under control of time (schedules). Solomonic discipline is to transfer demons from the left to the right side of the Magus.
