This was a epic day, one that me personally was looking forward to and didn't disappoint. So many awesome people and these days are more than visiting a new railway line or new stations, it about having a awesome time with friends and people who we meet along the way. I always say that the Elizabeth Line was one of my favourite openings but Leven was so much better and can agree it was mental but it was fricking epic! Okehampton opened in 2021 and the Elizabeth Line opened in 2022, It's honestly not fun filming with toothache as when the first day of the Class 196 operations started, I did had a horrible toothache that day and was running on something as I didn't had a decent sleep. Also apologises that I didn't got a chance to say goodbye at Leven. As soon as I got back, had a few minutes but had to dash off back to my guest house to grab my stuff as I left it there and checkout. It always great to hang around with you Jen ether if it a new station, Railway Line or New Train. Great video!

what a happy day. Sorry about the dental issues but clearly you were happy to be out on a sunny day surrounded by friends. In Geoffs video he hinted at the seaside destination. I love the drone footage putting the station in to the surrounding environment. I bet the community is going to see a real uptick in weekend traffic for sunny day at the beach folks

Lovely video Jen, thanks for sharing. You are in my happy place from my childhood. My grandparents came from Methil and Leven beach was where we spent many happy hours. I wish I could have been there yesterday yesterday to celebrate the new line. I'm old enough to remember the original line and station.

Nice to see 2 brand new railway stations opened on the Levenmouth Rail Link. Both Cameron Bridge and Leven stations are very nice stations.

Looked like a great time, good to see new railway lines being opened for passenger service. The Okehampton line opened before the Elizabeth line (20th November 2021 vs 24th May 2022), but regular hourly services didn't start on the line until 15th May 2022, so they started full passenger service around the same time :)

I was platform staff at Airdrie station in the 70s and took pride in looking after the station talking to passengers. Now all you have is an electronic board and a help point.. sorry, I like leven but in no hurry to see another concrete desert!!!

Jen along with your one woman campaign against ticket office closures can you take up the mantle for ‘lifts out of order’ or ‘we can’t be bothered’?! It is all well and good having a new station with lifts or adding step free access, but many are broken or repair takes weeks or months. *you’re our only hope*

I love this extended feature film on this long-awaited extension. This line should never Have closed anyway.....It hugged the sea all along to St Andrews!!! Home of Golf........I remember the 60S When my grandma worked in the Rio Cafe in Largo! Stations all looking the same was something that has happened for about 50 years - like all the stations that were built/rebuilt in 1978 for the Cross City South line in Birmingham.

Totally agree! I was platform staff at Airdrie in Scotland in the 70s, then British rail. Now all they are building is dystopian concrete bus shelters with help points! Couldn't agree with you more!!! Bring back British rail, staff all stations, and bring some character back to the railway!!! Ex railwayman!!

Further, when I worked with the railway in the 70s it was then British rail then it was privatised with abbellio. Disastrous. Every station was staffed and had its own character. Leven and Cameron bridge are just another 2 examples of dystopian concrete bus shelters with no appeal! In no hurry to visit, sorry!
