Yes. The location of Eutaw Springs was misplaced on the map. We also made minor adjustments to the sound to make the narration more easily heard.

My 6x great grandfather served under General Nathaniel Greene at the battle of Eutaw Springs. His name was Joseph Whiteley and he was in the North Carolina militia there and was wounded three times before he had to be carried off the field

My 6x great grandfather fought apart of the 3rd Artillery Regiment in the US Militia during the siege of Savannah and Charleston. A Scottish man who left his land kicked out by the British just to be told you lose again. He wasn't losing his land again. He got injured in the seige of Charleston and either died their or somewhere up in the 96 area (96 was basically all the upstate Backcountry in the State. Not 96 as we know it today). My 5x Great Grandfather was a Field Surgeon for the CSA in Civil War too. Proud to be a descendant of America's founding and it's divide.

I know this video focused more on the American Revolution history in SC and glad of the renewed effort to tell this interesting story, given I live in SC. However, I was wondering if you guys in future would do a civil war history trail of Sherman's March Through South Carolina, maybe with the Civil War Trails organization. There are places along the Liberty Trail that also has Civil War history that should be noted. For example at Hanging Rock, Union 14th and 20th Corps camped for two days in February of 1865 while at the same time, the other part of Sherman's Army was at Health Spring.

then why display a confederate flag who tried to break up the colonial union? Southern heritage is Union not Confederate.

It would be REALLY NICE if metal detectorist such as myself were allowed in maybe by groups and were able to dig up the artifacts so everyone could see them, maybe have a building at each site to put the pictures with the artifacts in the case to show who cared about digging them up so everyone could enjoy them 😉

How can South Carolina claim they had the most battles and skirmishes when it is a known FACT that New York and New Jersey had close to 300 each? 300 is greater than 200. Wow. what a disservice to the truth. Add to that the fact that there was only 900 British Regulars here, ever.

Where American independence was won? Bit of a stretch there. A lot of a stretch there. American independence was won on fields from Boston to Savannah and in the courts of Britain's enemies in Europe. The "South Carolinians won the Revolutionary War" message is twisting history in a way unbefitting the American Battlefield Trust. For an organization supposedly dedicated to preserving history, this video is a disappointment.

Thank you. All of the MAJOR battles fighting the actual British did not happen here. And my ancestors were Over the Mountain Men...the twisting of history here is disgusting and only will further the divide. There were only ever 900 British Regulars here, most of them coming from Maryland and Deleware where there was not much military action.

@@elizabethanderson9882 You underestimate the tenacity of the loyalists in the South. They were brutal in their confrontations with Patriots. The militias in South Carolina also had to deal with native tribes the British used .The Brits did overestimate the support they would have in the South but they did win key battles There is no denying that crucial victories at Cowpens and Kings Mountain had an effect in the turning of the tide in the southern campaign and had the Brits on the run till ultimately Cornwallis was cornered at York by Americans and French. At least 7 000 Brits surrendered there
@Wadzillia
@Wadzillia 11 ай бұрын
Considering 1/3 of the war was fought in South Carolina more than any state in the colonies. The victory in Cowpens was the turning point in the war. I'd have to agree South Carolina was definitely the main battle field of the revolutionary War and where the War was won. Cornwallis southern campaign was a complete fail.

Liberty is never won nor lost on a battlefield. It is won and lost in the heats, minds and actions of the people. Don’t believe me? Google “Covid” and see how quickly and easily liberty is lost. And not a shot was fired.
