I'd like to propose another pill: the no-pill. Instead of spending hours listening to people tell you why your problems come from society rather than yourself, exercise the muscle of responsibility and agency by recognising that you're not an individual; you're a committee of sub-personalities, and it's your job to ensure the survival of the fittest among them.
This is the only way forward.
Self-help bros online can help you draw the map, but you still gotta traverse the territory, and that's never comfortable.
It's true that society is emasculating young men, but it's reactive to obsess over masculinity, and reactive is not centred; it's, ironically, not masculine.
Find your own way, don't let some twenty-somethings like myself convince you to re-prioritise whatever aspects of personal growth they are into, and the benefits they're selling will likely come as a byproduct regardless.
You know what your most immediate problems are; start there, no matter how 'beneath you' you feel they are. Maybe it's your relationship with your parents, maybe you're addicted to something, or maybe you're just lazy or don't eat enough. Whatever it is, don't hyper-fixate on the elements of self-development that KZbinrs say will get you more girls or some bullsh*t. When you're just starting out, chances are your 'self' is not a curse you'd want to place on your worst enemy, let alone a girl you care about.
So start at the beginning. Clean yourself up; only then might you make it to the finish line.
Channel overview:
A few years ago, I was stuck in bed, hating the universe for subjecting me to the 'sick and twisted game of life' without my consent. I was pathetic.
It was only after I realized something very important that things began getting better... life didn't suck; I did.
In the absence of friction, my mind was conjuring its own, so life was hard, yes, but it didn't have to be. The suffering was unnecessary. After a few years of incremental progress, I'm having the time of my life. I've never been in better shape, my mind has never been sharper, I've never experienced so much happiness, and it's all rooted in a deep sense of meaning that was once absent.
I had to shake myself of lots of old beliefs and patterns to get to where I am, and I believe there are millions of other people who feel stuck and could learn from my mistakes. So that's why I'm starting this channel: to share some of the insights that formed the foundation of the psychological habitat I now occupy.
I don't know exactly how the channel will develop but I'm going to start by posting my raw ideas as that's the only thing I can consistently do at this point in time.
I hope it helps!

I feel like I’m catching the beginning of a big KZbin channel especially the more credibility you build. I see you and I respect the grind us guys are rare. No I haven’t accomplished anything of meaning yet but all the people I admire were once here meaning they all went on similar journeys everyone only sees the ones already on top they don’t see the ones in the trench’s as they shouldn’t but they will when we’re good enough because to get good enough to be at the top it can’t be about the what others see because no one can see effort only results. Keep posting the content bro and thanks for giving me a new frame of mind said in a way I’ve never heard before.

That last point perfectly summarises everything; if you can’t do something for yourself but for others (especially in pursuit of romance), then you’re going to stumble and fall. I developed the habit of going to the gym and playing tennis because I liked it personally

The reason I did not imagine a pink elephant was not because I could not think about the thing I try not to think about (because you have to think about it first), but because I simply did not give a fuck about doing what you wanted me to do, I was so disinterested in trying to do what you were saying I started to wonder why was I able to not think about a pink elephant and then I thought about a pink elephant because I thought that I didnt even try to do what you said and then I thought about what you said and therefore I imagined a pink elephant so I guess you win this time. Btw I really liked what you talked about and I couldnt agree more.

Tbh to develop on your point of ppl not having a solid foundation despite being motivated by all the self help stuff, I agree that one reason ppls efforts fall apart is bec they're chasing the girls money etc instead of building a "solid foundation". but that longing for something else is necessary for the process of improving, I think the problem lies in them not building an image of their own desired ends, they'll just latch onto the first "socially conditioned" thing they're made to desire, instead of actually discovering what they themselves want, I mean money in itself is a means but people treat it like and ends to reach, and they'll give vague reasons for why they want it, like "status" (arguably just another means). I suppose it's safer to not have a clear goal? in a way its less scary because without a clear milestone you can shift the goalpost and convert what would be a failure into technically a success. though on second thought your subpersonalities model reaches the same conclusion of "finding what you want" 😛 -Ill append by saying surely we can engage in these ends our subpersonalities want and distill what this "I" actually wants from them, e.g. desiring MoRe WoMeN and MoRe sex can be distilled into a genuine desire for connection + status, which you can then toy with more and figure out ways to reach those ends. I just wouldn't want to discard your subpersonalities desires, because still they're part of yourself and should be integrated otherwise they wont stop yapping, seperate the superfluous desires from the genuine ones ig idk

What's wrong with wanting to get more money tho? Ever since I was a teenager I've always searched for ways to make money, starting multiple businesses. Idk why exactly, something about making money just pulls me in and it feels like the right thing to do for me, even though it sounds kinda selfish...

@@AngeloSomers All good here, just same as you trying to spread this positive message and that people should ignore the advice of other who are clearly only there to sell you scams and offer ridiculous advice especially Fresh & Fit, not sure if you know a channel called Abba & Preach they have made so many videos on them pointing out their hypocrisy. Further not to sound like a dik head but even when I used to watch people such as Fresh and Fit you can tell right from the beginning they are not speaking truthfully and for the benefit of humanity rather just themselves. broski i see a reocurring pattern of wobbly camera syndrome, try putting it on a stand on the floor so your footage is a lil more stable. I only say this because it is a little distracting, it does however, add to the vibe of being real and unfiltered. So maybe it's a good thing, or not, you decide. I always feel like a dickhead leaving comments like this, because I admire the content as well. Which wouldn't be apparent with the first comment but should be now by sharing my thoughts as of writing this paragraph. Then we come to the question of wether or not I should format my comments on the internet as if I were having a real dialogue with someone, since the internet invites disinterpretation. But yeah, great video nonetheless. Have a good day.

How do you reconcile the idea of a soul with atoms, matter and void? Did prehistoric man possess a higher self? At what point in human evolution did the soul or higher self emerge? What you're talking about is heroism, omnipotence and the causa sui project. Mumbo jumbo.
@AngeloSomers
@AngeloSomers 7 ай бұрын
lol how is this related to subpersonalities
@adamant5906
@adamant5906 7 ай бұрын
@@AngeloSomersWhat does the idea of a soul have to do with personality or subpersonalities? That's simply a way of invoking the idea of some essential self, constantly being assailed or thwarted by competing desires (subpersonalities). So I'm asking you where that essential self is located. The ideal self you mentioned that is constantly battling subpersonalities. Is it a genuine spiritual/transcendent self as the use of the world "soul" implies? I'm asking for clarification.
@AngeloSomers
@AngeloSomers 7 ай бұрын
@@adamant5906 ohhh I simply meant soul as in the you that witnesses your mind (consciousness itself) The “higher self” was meant as in your root drives (power/expansion) but some other drives can get in the way of the fulfilment of that We are full of drives, but we don’t want to submit to those at the bottom of Maslows hierarchy at the expense of those at the top (self actualisation/self overcoming)

Counterpoint to the thoughts v souls thing; essentially how I see it is that it is not the thoughts, but the thought process that is us. It is that which sets us apart. We have a "pattern" to our thought, to the connections we make, all of these things we have a realtively direct access to when it comes to change. Otherwise, great video. Eloquently put, good voice. Also, youre a handsome motherfucker.

Bro, it’s simple. Our body’s “flesh” is lazy as fuck and does not want to change at all! Homeostasis. Our mind or “soul/ego” as some call it, “aspires” to be something “better”. The war is always with us. Our biological written code vs our what we think is our “ best self” based off what society considers as “noble, good, admirable” either way, you are still not being authentic; you are till holding yourself to the standard of what society decided to make you believe you are.
