I don't know. The way Gowry says "Queen Marika and King Consort Radagon were blessed with Twin Demigods and Malenia was one of them" sounds to me like their birth was a public affair of the Golden Order. Which means it dates within Radagons official reign as King Consort. But we can pretty safely date that after Godfreys reign, which makes Miquella and Malenia younger that the offsprings of the Golden Lineage. Also the statue of Godwyn and the twins in Lorettas bossroom very much suggests older brother-vibes to me. And especially after the trailer today, Miquella seems to me to be this young prodigy that is being groomed to be the successor to Marika, but bit by bit finds out about the horrible acts on which the Golden Order is built and abandons that path.

Miquella was trying to grow his own Erdtree as description in Haligtree soldier coat tells us. I doubt he would try such a thing if he did not want to succeed Marika. I think Miquella was actively trying to succeed Marika and that she was threatened by him.

I don't think Miquella was chosen to be the true successor to Marika.He was a prodigy but Miquella was also afflicted by a "curse". I think Ranni was going to be the next successor and Godwyn was going to be her consort but she rebels as she finds out about this, causing the night of the black knives. Maybe she found out something so horrible about the greater will that she goes as far as to even dispose of her body to get rid of her ties with the greater will. Everyone who digs more into the greater will , either tries to destroy it (Marika's case) or get so appalled by it that they try to sever their connections with it ( Ranni and Miquella's case)

what are your thoughts on Milicent's questline in comparison to what happens to Melania? I was under the impression that maybe there was more to the process after the bloom, but in both cases they die? It is weird that he asks us to help her sisters at the end
@prafulltiwari8929
@prafulltiwari8929 Ай бұрын
@@eldenringpvpenthusiast1710 Garry asks us to side with her sister so that she dies with the needle still in her body allowing her to bloom again into a Valkyrie(needle helps her to retain her body and mind, which would otherwise just rot away). If you revisit both Melania and Millicent(after siding with her sisters) you find that they are not truly dead, a new flower blooms from their bodies which will transform them into something more. In Melania's case she will become a true God and in Millicent's case she will become a Valkyrie of Melania. They have left both the story lines there. Maybe in the future we might get an answer to what actually happens after the bloom. Maybe in the DLC we will get to know more about Melania. In the cut voice lines of Melania she called us her companion, maybe there was supposed to be more to her story. It does feel like things are way too linear and they have cut the complexity before release.

Now the story aside, here are my speculations. There was One Great at the beginning and greater will is a fragment of this One great. When the Greater Will separated ,One Great got broken into different fragments and all these fragments have their own will and powers. Greater will being the biggest fragment. These other smaller fragments will later be called as "outer gods" by the people following the Greater will. These entities were once together and even now they have no problem in sharing the same world, the co-exist in some form. Some of these entities took control of different reals. Greater will descended upon the lands between via an avatar ,that avatar gets attached/sealed inside the most compatible candidate (empyrions) who is capable of carrying out the objectives of the greater will and that being establishing a single Order over the lands between. Marika was chosen as a vessel for the greater will after she unified the land of shadows, elden beast was sealed within her making her a god. Like how you get both your parent's genetic material but still you turn out to be a different being, a new being created out of the old, with different potentials, just like that Marika's offspring not only demi-gods but they had thier own potentials. They are not just golden they are also a different being, different potentials , different gods (but they were called as curses by others ). Also like how elden beast can be sealed into an empyrion, outer gods could also seal themselves within them. So, just like Marika, Malenia had some avatar of rot god sealed within her. Also Every demi-god's potential/power changes according to the state they are in like how Miqella also had different potentials,what I like about miquella is how he takes different forms, he took the spirit form of st.tirina when he was in the cocoon, he was in state of sleep and hence the form he took had powers related to calm and sleep and when mogh took that cocoon and his slumber was interrupted st.tirina vanishes. I have a lot of theories about golden order and other gods I'm just tired of typing 😅

also I forgot to mention one thing, Gary must have already tried to get Millicent bloom into a Valkyrie before, maybe he himself tried to kill her (that's why he hides himself when Millicent visits his shack, he doesn't want Millicent to remember everything),maybe he convinced her sisters to follow him to reach his goals of resurrecting the goddess of rot and made them hunt her down, Millicent barely survives that encounter and not wanting to be transformed again she takes the needle out and breaks it, she disposed of the needle herself, during Gary's quest when go to find the needle guess who invades our world and try to stop us ? Millicent. She tries to stop us from finding the needle. She does not desire a fate where she is not herself. Also Gary kept her guarded in the church of pilgrimage, so she does not run away, until he finds the needle. He knew Millicent would try to find Melania and he sent her sisters to hunt Millicent down once again and asks us to join them so as to overwhelm her and ensure she blooms with the needle still inside her this time. Gary might have carried out multiple attempts to transform her each ending in Millicent taking out the needle or breaking it, that is why he knows how to fix it. He fails several times until he meets us. And if we decide to help Millicent she gets to subvert her fate.

I doubt Malenia and Miquella are older than other demigods. Demigods warred because there was no clear successor after Marika/Radagon's disappearence. Morgott and Mohg are oldest children by Godfrey/Marika, but as shameful Omens cannot enforce their claim to the throne. Morgott notably only takes over as monarch in Leyndell when otherwise capital would have been left leaderless. Godwyn was second oldest by the First Elden Lord, loved by all and massively popular due to his feats and looks. But after his "death" there is a power vacuum as he was supposed to be "go-to-successor" . It was no coincidence that Ranni merked Godwyn in particular. It was to trigger maximum amount of chaos. Golden Lineage (Godefroy and Godrick) base their claim to Godwyn's status as 'firstborn'. Radahn, Rykard and Ranni are the next oldest, but as they are not born of Marika, but are mere steep-children in eyes of many, they have tenuous claim in the eyes of the masses. Malenia and Miquella are youngest, but what they lack in seniority is backed by their claim as Marika's only surviving non-omen biological children. Plus Miquella apparently was insanely well liked and known. If Malenia and Miquella were the oldest demigods around, their claim to the throne would supersede all others easily. And there would be no argument against their rule.

@JackisaMimic I think this is a simple coincidence. If I remember correctly the model for Mohg is titled in the game files as Evil Demon (or something similar) and it was supposed to be a regular miniboss, but was repurposed for the Lord of Blood. Not saying that Mohg as a character wasn’t planned from the beginning by Martin, but rather that he didn’t have a specific look until the game was in its later stages of development
@JackisaMimic
@JackisaMimic Ай бұрын
@@trollingstones6257 I've seen the Zullie video where that information is shown, but I don't think we can gleam from that he wasn't intended. We can think of a whole batch of reasons why he was named EvilDemon.BossMonster or whatever. Such as: this character looks like an evil demon and him not having a name set in stone when the model was created. Hell, he could have been one of the first bosses they developed and used him to test multiple levels. Though, that could be just me coping haha The resemblance is too on the nose to be a coincidence, especially in a Miyazaki and GRRM story. GRRM is very deliberate in his writing choices and Miyazaki uses a style called "Total Direction", he gets final say and oversees almost everything of a project.

I'm not convinced by your theories about Miquella and Malenia being as old as you think, especially in regards in Malenia being partly responsible for the Lake of Rot, but there's no doubt that Miquella has a lot of potential hidden influence over the Lands Between and seems to have had his hand in many pots. I recently noticed how there seems to be many Miquella's Lilies and St. Trina's Lilies located all over the lands, perhaps that parallels their connections to all these places? Along with the Aeonian and Nascent Butterflies, it also gives a feeling that these twins have been around for so long that they have become a part of the very nature of the world.

The Story trailer for the DLC expansion released on the same day of this video might help to support this theory, funnily enough. If Miquella can tell a story the about the birth of the Golden Order to his followers, then perhaps it's because he was there to see it happen? Which means that he had to be present and self-aware before Radagon become Elden Lord. I do want this theory to be true since it's a cool plot element and twist!

Yes, I believe Miquella and Trina lilies are meant to indicate that Miquella went to a place or has a strong connection to it. He leaves seeds behind that act like living footprints. Although the nascent butterflies are thematically tied to him, their placement isn't always tied to him specifically. They drop from ancestor spirit followers in any area, they represent rebirth or reincarnation. Which is connected to Miquella, just not necessarily an indication of his presence.

This may be true, and truer symbollically as well. I have long thought of Miquella as a changeling, as an old fairy pretending to be an infant in a cradle. His alter ego is dubbed the Cradlesong, and she operates in dreams, not unlike fairies in old folktales. Siofra means "changeling". Often, a changeling, when dead, becomes a lump of wood, not unlike how Miquella's Haligtree resembles him in Malenia's boss room. I always wondered if the statues of an old man with trees growing out of him (Elden John) was Miquella's true form, or the true form of the changeling that supplanted him. After all, there are Will o' the Wisps (fairy lights) along the Siofra River, and Miquella has fairy wings, indicating a fairy. Ainsel River is a reference to an old Irish story about a fairy that burns himself and, when asked who burned him, he says "Myself" or AINSEL. I always thought the Blue Dancer/Fairy was a reference to Miquella who visited his sister in a dream near the rivers, showing her how she might "flow" to cleanse herself of her Scarlet Rot (flushing her own rot with the blood of others, such as her brother and her foes, her healing mechanic). Needles are also associated with fairies, from cobbler elves to Leprechauns to Peter Pan and his use of a needle to stitch his SHADOW to himself. What is Peter Pan known for? Not growing up and using fairy dust to fly. Tinkerbell's name means a tinkerer who makes bells. What else does Miquella use? Bells. The new story trailer today uses bells in its music when all of Miquella's followers are gathering together.

@@JackisaMimic also wanted to add that Peter Pan takes children who fall out of their crib to Neverland, and Wendy flies with him by "taking his hand". How will we access the Shadowlands? "Touch the withered arm..." There is also a deep rabbit hole about Miquella, JM Berrie, William Sharp/Fiona Macleod, Yeats, and the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn that I would make a video about if I knew how (and had the inclination). Miyazaki has read the poetry of Sharp/Macleod (Deracine), and likely the poetry anthology Lyra Celtica. William Sharp wrote poems with a female persona (Fiona Macleod) who, he claimed, was his fairy muse. People fell in love with Fiona Macleod, and many people wished to meet "her" at that time (including Yeats and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle). But she was a fictional persona, the Jungian anima of William Sharp. Sharp was friends with Berrie, writer of Peter Pan, and Berrie based Pan off of his dead brother who would never grow up. Berrie himself suffered from trying to play the role of his older brother for the sake of his grieving mother. He was pubescently stunted as a consequence, trying to live as a forever boy.

It seems unlikely that Malenia and Miquella are that old. The easiest place in the timeline to place their birth is after Radagon became Elden Lord and before the Shattering when Marika and Radagon got stuck inside the Erdtree, they're officially husband and wife so it'd be easiest moment for them to have children. Let's say we wanted to argue that Malenia and Miquella were born during the time of the Ancient Dynasty. First of all this forces us to establish that both Marika and Radagon were present at this time, a time that predates the Nox themselves who built their underground cities on top of the Dynastic ruins, much before Godfrey and the age of Marika's rise to power. While Marika, and with her Radagon as well, could be older than we assume, we still don't really have any evidence of the Malenia and Miquella's existence this early in the timeline. Their earliest records that we can place chronologically are related to Godwyn's death (who I, by the way, believe because if we start assuming that descriptions are lying we basically give up on any kind of serious lore discussion that isn't just a bunch of personal speculation mixed with fanfiction), Miquella's joining of Golden Order Fundamentalism in an attempt at healing her sister from Rot (Fundamentalism being a creation of Radagon during his reign as Elden Lord, likely inspired by his time spent in Raya Lucaria), and Malenia and Miquella's presence as major actors in the very early days of the Shattering when they were part of the Sovereign Alliance as the "twin prodigies". This only further supports their birth after Radagon became Elden Lord but still long before the Shattering, because no record of them exist before these dates and it makes more sense that Miquella joins Fundamentalism to try to heal her sister when he's still young, only to later abandon it as it fails to heal his sister. If Miquella was really that much older it'd be strange for him to wait that long to join such a later development of the Golden Order that still can't achieve anything, but it's from that failure that he got inspired to create the Haligtree. There are a few other things, like the Marais connections. The last in line of House Marais is described by the ghost in the manor as being uniquely obsessed by Malenia, an obsession the ghost decries as he blames it on the fall of house Marais that was left unattended by the current house leader and allowed the Bell Hunter to kick them out of their manor. Also, the clothing of Marais is indeed just a generic uniform of a high official, I think Kenneth Haight has a similar one as well, and while his mask might resemble Miquella somewhat it's not something that's particularly hinted at by the description, so it's heavily speculative. With this the connection to Arganthy seems pretty weak, and I think he's legitimately just the leader of the Fire Monks who's guarding ancient and forbidden Fire Monk lore.

My hypothesis actually comes from trying to figure out the stone tablets in ancestral woods, and where those blue zappy electric spirits come from. I ended up feeling like the big stone trees are like the pillars on the bottom picture, with the spirits coming from the trees that have been destroyed. But it made me realize that if a spirit can come from a tree that never finished growing, that Miquella who had an unfinished tree, could also have a spirit form while he sleep. If Miquella dreamed of helping his sister, he may have done so, in his sleep, as the blue fairy. I think the rot goddess got sealed in Melania, by having her hone her swordsmanship and never stagnate. Interestingly, I feel like you can use what Melania goes through, to see a bit of what Marika might have went through. If melania was cursed with rot and her virtue was flowing swordsmanship like a constant flowing river cleaning itself. Marika has undead graves all around her in contrast to being a goddess of life. The pests at the church of the plague seem to have no problem with the image of Marika, they actually look like they want Milicent to be like Marika. Milicent at the end does not want to blossom into something other then herself. But Marika can turn into Radagon. Marika who became a god, left her old life behind and became something else. I sometimes wonder if Marika is the rot goddess that refuses to die, rot itself trying to bloom through a new vessel. The briar set has a demon lady on the boots, unfold her head into medusa, which turns into almost serosh's head, into a manticore with a scorpion tail and insect looking wings. To be stricken down by a winged being with a sword and a knight and horse with wings, pinning it down with a spear and the horse is even stepping on its head. But it looks like it is reforming out of snakes, with the lady with wings, sheathing her sword around the reforming monster. I think this is the sealing of rot, within Melania, during a dream of Miquella, because Mohg took him from his tree while in an infant form. His dream version may have had full grown wings and been a literal blue fairy that showed Melania how to handle the rot within her. The being known as St.Trina just shows up and vanishes. The blue fairy could have been St. Trina, with people who got to witness her becoming bewitched and spreading the faith through sleep arrows and such

This is such an interesting theory and has made me really think about things. The minor erdtrees are all pretty small compared to the actual Erdtree, but Miquella’s Haligtree is huge enough to rival the Erdtree. It looks like, even if Miquella’s blood helped it along, it would have taken a very long time to get to that size. And at the Shaded Castle, there are many double trees twisted around each other. Maybe Miquella spent time practicing and perfecting his technique there before attempting the real thing with the Haligtree?

@jackisamimic the newest story trailer for the dlc pretty much confirms that the Wickerman war machines are ruled by Messmer. Why is this important? In the original dlc trailer we see the wickerman with the fire giant head hanging in its hip(?) that’s 1 of two connections between Messmer and the fire giants. The 2nd is his spear resembling the spears impaling all the giants in the mountaintops. I’d say it’s fairly safe to say by now that Messmer did have some a major part in the Giants genocide.

Wonderful. While there are conflicting point to my own theory, I definitely like your interpretations and I may modify my own by incorporating some of your thoughts into my stuff. The Marais family and Miquella’s connection… well I never saw it. We did both come to the same conclusion about the Fell God of the Flame of Ruin but through different means! I believe Marika’s plan has always been to slay the Elden Beast. To me it seems that the Erdtree’s original purpose even before the Crucible was to be sacrificed in the Forge of the Giants to make Great Runes and the Elden Beast usurped the already manufactured Great Runes by becoming the Elden Ring. This disrupted the whole process that Marika and the Numen were involved in. The Fell God of the Flame of ruin was integral to the manufacturing process as their fire was the only thing that could smelt the Erdtree. Marika’s plan was to infiltrate the Elden Beast’s forces, learn how to kill it, and get it dead. To this point, she would have to play the part and betray all that she hoped to liberate and protect. Eventually the plan came down to sacrificing her children and herself to deprive the Elden Beast of amassing more power by severing the last remaining stalk of the Greattree through the poison of deathblight, and even sacrificing herself to imprison the EB within the Erdtree. During Godwyn’s campaign against the Fire Giants, Marika was Radagon in Liurnia. Through their marriage to Rennala, the Carian Queen made or invoked a pact with the trolls who then betrayed the fire giants and sowed the defeat of the Fire Giants. Marika was “believed” to kill the Fell God except, she was still Radagon in Liurnia. The Last Fire Giant hosts the Fell God, but I think in a more walkie-talkie style. Speculative as it is, I suspect the Fell God is kin of some sort to Marika and may even be in the Land of Shadows… along with Miquella and Rennala.

I also really like the idea that Malenia had a bloom prior to her spat with Radahn. It does oppose my current thoughts but it makes perfect sense. While we get her spell that implies her bloom at our defeat is only a second bloom, I do consider the narrator to be somewhat unreliable in most cases. So the possibility of that being her third bloom is maybe more likely in my mind now.

On the topic of Jerren. He's a bloody finger, based on the fight with Sellen. He's working for Miquella alright, but not through the Marais connection, but via Mogh. And he's not the only masked Mogh-aligned character that puts us on a specific path. So is Varre.

Jerren is not a bloody finger? He is Carian loyalist and hunted Sorcerers who rebelled against the royal house of Caria. He calls Sellen a "weed" in cut content and threat to the royals. Essentially he has black ops site to torture and interrogate Ranni's enemies.

Wouldn't Marika (the oldest) and Ranni (the youngest in this theory) both having shadows mean that Malenia and Miquella, being born in between the 2, MUST have had shadows? Cool video, the part about the Blue Dancer being a Nox is brilliant. Radagons Rings of Light which presumably was made after Radagon meeting and studying sorcery under Renalla, puts Miquella begining work on Unalloyed Gold at that time, because Fundamentalism couldn't cure his sister. Strange that he only begins this campaign at such a relatively late time. My theory building on this video is perhaps Miquella is the oldest of Marikas children but Malenia is the youngest.

Yes, they must have had shadows, but knowing that Miquella and Malenia are anti-Erdtree, it looks like those pups may have been sent to a farm upstate In a future video on Radagon, I am going to suggest that Miquella “taught” this version of Radagon Golden Order Fundamentalism. The reason he gifted his father the Discuses of Light was to lead him down the path Look forward to that hopefully before the DLC!

3:09 Very interesting that Gowry only mentions Malenia as one of the twins, and chooses to leave Miquella out of the conversation. Is it just me, or does it feel like Messmer a more likely candidate to be Malenia’s twin? Maybe we are witnessing a rewriting of history by forcing the realm to accept that Malenia’s twin is Miquella, when in reality, Miquella is someone else entirely (possibly a new form that Marika has taken).

Hi Jack, You forgot the Mushroom crown :"Long ago, great lords served the scarlet rot". Also, the architecture in the lake of rot seems more in line with Uhl/Uld ruins than the other places, pointing to dynasties that predate Marika's. It is more likely that Malenia is a re-incarnation of the god sealed under the lake of rot, which appeared way before. It is also very likely that one of Malenia's blooms happenned directly inside Miquella's Haligtree, which would explain the aeonian flower we see in the piece left before Malenia's arena, and the general state of the tree (the needle was supposed to prevent Malenia from decaying, but not to spread rot - I doubt Malenia would willingly stay in the Haligtree spraying rot around and destroying her brother's tree, unless the tree is already broken beyond repair). That being said, rot cultists enemies (the ones dresssed in mushrooms) cast poison attacks, and not rot (poison armament reads "Those who dwell within poison know rot all too well. The death that begets life, that comes to all equally. That is to say: it is the cycle of rebirth put into practice."). It would be possible that house Marais were inheritors of the lords mentionned in the lake of rot, seduced by the potential return of a god their ancestors worshipped ? One last thing, Miquella is known to naturally "seduce" anyone around, and Malenia is known to corrupt by rot anyone around. Malenia's soldiers have grown some kind of pests wings under their armor. Miquella has spent more time than anyone else near Malenia, and may be going into a rot-mutation that none of his followers figured due to his natural seduction perk. As a result, the Miquella that would come out of the crysalid would be a demigod-pest gifted with eternal youth, which would never decay. Or maybe the eternal youth perk would prevent the crysalid to turn into adult pest forever... If we put this back in the grand scheme, 1) Malenia had her first bloom in the Haligtree, burst-open the tree and broke it 2) Miquella wrapped in a cocoon as a result of the bloom, with rot-mutation in progress (which would be a good reason to "abandon his flesh", and not his decision, but a consequence of events to "abandon his fate, [...] all things golden") 3) Without Miquella to guide her, Malenia tried to continue Miquella's last known plans, and took after Radhan to enable the eclipse 4) Mogh took the cocoon while Malenia was fighting Radhan, also when the 2nd bloom happenned 5) Oracle envoys in the branches of the Haligtree are welcoming a new age : the age of rot announced by the 3rd bloom

You might be onto something about Miquella using House Marais as the means to drive Rykard towards blasphemy. The battle site on Mt. Gelmir is LITTERED with items connected to Miquella. We can find Sacramental Buds and Trina’s lilies all over the place, as well as a few of Miquella’s lilies. Plus, we have the pulley crossbow and the jar cannon to consider. The description of the pulley crossbow states that it was crafted by “a certain genius” who practiced Golden Order Fundamentalism. While this description could apply to Goldmask, he was outside of the Lands Between during the Shattering, and crafting a weapon of war doesn’t really seem like his style. Plus, we know that Miquella was an expert craftsman if his needles are any indication. On top of that, in the trailer for a DLC that’s all about Miquella, we can see a knight using a roided up version of the pulley crossbow firing perfumer bolts.

To add to this, I also think Melania might actually be younger, but Miquella brainwashed her into thinking they were twins. Between his eternal youth and ability to bewitch people, it would be very hard to Melania to see through the illusion, and it would only make her more loyal to him through a deep sense of familial bond.

Everyone getting inspired by the DLC, it's hilarious. I don't think Miquella is that old though. Just that the Scarlet Rot has existed before it found Malenia, it probably had another Empyrean vessel. The blue fairy is the river that runs through that area. Miquella does seem to restrain Malenia quite a lot since the Haligtree region is much better off that Caelid. The Haligtree was fed with Miquella blood, which is why I guess it hasn't lost all power. While I do think Miquella is playing 5D chess, I think he's just reversing what Marika did, since her reign ended in disaster really. I don't think he'll be evil, because Martin doesn't write characters like that.

I feel lime the assertion that the iron great sword statue is Radagon is very tenuous and the theory hinges on it way too much. Its possible, i guess, but there are also indicators agaist it. For example, Radagon statues tend to display his signature lattice symbol. The iron great sword statues do not display it
@JackisaMimic
@JackisaMimic Ай бұрын
Radagon statues after he becomes a Golden Order Fundamentalist show the lattice. This indicates there is a change in Radagon's understanding of the world, and possibly himself, after that point. For example, the Red Braid item says Radagon despised his red hair, yet his Lattice Statues show his red hair plainly while the hooded statues hide any hair at all.

I always took "the age of the Elden Ring" to mean the era of the Golden Order. During the time of the Golden Order the Erdtree is relegated to a symbolic figure. The Golden Order Principia depicts the Elden Ring rather than the Erdtree, likewise the Golden Order Seal. The Two Fingers' prayerbook and the Dragon cult's prayerbook, both approved extensions of the Golden Order, do not depict the Erdtree. Looks like they are taking it off their branding. The time of Erdtree faith ended with the start of the Golden Order and the Order as a faith is more focused on the ring itself rather than the tree. The tree is just a demonstration of the Order's perfection. That's why I tend to lean the age of the Golden Order is the age of the Elden Ring. As a ridiculous related tangent: I tend to imagine the long term goal for whoever was driving the Golden Order faith (be it Radagon or Marika) was to eventually remove the branches from the Erdtree and have it look like one of the ones in the Elden Beast arena/Siofra, and then project an Elden Ring made of grace over it like the Seal and Principia cover. No longer regarded as the Erdtree it would just simply be considered the Elden Ring. I tend to think Miquella and Malenia are the youngest. I assume their "curses" are a result of the Erdtree and Marika's connection to it. The illusion traps the Erdtree in stasis, Miquella is trapped as a child. The actual Erdtree is rotting. If you go to Deeproot Depths, below the stasis inducing illusion, its trunk is white that's a sign of tree rot. To further push the point across the finish line it is surrounded by ants (ant's stingers inflict scarlet rot, they are agents of rot). This is my logic on why Malenia has her curse. If these things are to be considered palatable logic then the twins would have to be born later in the time line.

Do you just disagree with the "always" part? In game, it's clear they've been one being for a while. Goldmask's quest states it pretty plainly that radagon is merika. So, it's possible it's always been like that, or they fused at some point. Since merika is a numen (who are likely proto-nox), then radagon may be a mimic or puppet or veil or something like that. So radagon always being merika is more likely right now

I'm sorry but Malenia and Miquella being the firstborns doesn't make much sense. The things that we know for a fact are: 1) Marika being Radagon was a well kept secret 2) Everybody in the Lands Between knows that Malenia and Miquella were Marika and Radagon's children 3) Marika officially married Radagon only after Godfrey's exile, crowning him as King Consort and second Elden Lord, and this decision was seen as controversial, because Radagon was "just a champion" at the time. Your theory doesn't take into account the public's perception of the whole ordeal. You're suggesting that the already controversial marriage would've also had the baggage of two children, born out of wedlock thousands of years before any of the other demigods were born, and that not a single soul in the whole kingdom would bat an eye at that? If Miriel had to comment about how strange it was that Queen Marika would marry a "lowly champion", he would've also certainly said something about the strange timeline of events surrounding the new Elden Lord's bastard children. Also, Gowry explicitly says that "Marika and King Consort Radagon were blessed with twin demigods..."; implying that Radagon was already King Consort (and thus Elden Lord) when they had Malenia and Miquella. Messmer, on the other hand, could very well be the true firstborn of Marika (and Radagon), because no one in the lands between knows jack shit about the lands of shadow, so her (being eternal and immortal) having an unkown child in a secret land thousands of years before the creation of the Erdtree is not implausible. But Miquella and Malenia are somewhat of public figures: they have lands and control armies, and none of their enemies ever addresses them as "bastards" or is concerned about their lineage, so the same reasoning cannot be applied. Another thing that bothers me is that you suggest that the lake of rot is where Malenia's Aeonia first blossomed, while ignoring the fact that there's a fully grown Aeonia flower literally in the room before Malenia's fight, which is the reason why Miquella's Halig Tree is rotting. The Marais/Miquella connection was very cool though
@JackisaMimic
@JackisaMimic Ай бұрын
Since you bring up many points of pushback I ask these question earnestly and not to be combative, but to understand the critique, because I think the evidence in the video stands up on its own. What is the public perception on the underground Ancient Dynasty, or the underground Eternal Cities, or the hidden Land of Shadow, or the hidden Mohg and Morgott? There is a history in the Lands Between that is unknown and hidden, literally underground. There is an unknown history and when you can't know the origins of either parent or the age of either child, how can you know when they are born? Especially when one is eternally a child, they can just pop up and say "I am eternally a child but trust me I am only 40 years old and not 4000 years old" How could you know if they were lying or not? Lastly, since you bring up Gowry's dialogue: do you think the current Age the game takes place in is the Age of the Elden Ring or the Age of the Erdtree? If you think it is the Age of the Elden Ring, can you provide a reasoning?
@riccardobanti9203
@riccardobanti9203 Ай бұрын
@@JackisaMimic I understand that Elden Ring is full to the brim with unknown history, and that on a purely technical level the twin demigods "could" have been born first. What I'm focusing on is the fact that the events have concrete consequences on the world, his occupants and their opinion. We can presume that the average Joe in the Lands Between doesn't know much (if anything) about the Eternal Cities and stuff simply because almost nobody talks about them, but we do see multiple characters and historic records mentioning "current" politics: They talk about Godrick, his cowardice, his defeat to Malenia, and how so far removed he is from divine blood; They talk about battles, conquests and campaigns both before and during the Shattering; They talk about Radagon, his military exploits, both of his controversial marriages and his ascension to the throne, and the children he had with Marika. The matters of Radagon's controversial marriage with Marika and the fact that he had a huge secret were public domain; and Miriel specifically talks about "Radagon's secret", singular, meaning that any other big irregularities in his character were not really known. Once again, if the Queen-Goddess and a random champion had twins hundreds of years before her first marriage, that would be extremely controversial and suspicious. And we know for a fact that Marika cared about appearances and customs, because otherwise she wouldn't have gone through such trouble to keep the secret that she was Radagon, and she wouldn't have hidden away Morgott and Mogh. The only way for Malenia and Miquella to be the firstborns, would be if Marika had kept them completely hidden from the whole world for thousands of years, and nothing suggests that. Also, Gowry specifically says "Radagon and Marika were blessed with twin demigods", in a feudal society in which marriage is so important, a royal couple is "blessed" with child exclusively after marriage. A child born out of wedlock would not be seen as a blessing. Speaking of Gowry; for what we know the "Age of the Elden Ring" and the "Age of the Erdtree" may not be mutually exclusive and may actually overlap. The Elden Ring was supposedly born before the Erdtree, but the Shattering happens before the Burning of the Erdtree; so the timeline of events would look like: • the Elden Ring is created (Age of the Elden Ring starts) --> Erdtree is born, Marika + Godfrey "defeat" the Giants (Age of the Erdtree starts) --> The Shattering happens (Age of the Elden Ring ends) --> the events of the game begins, the Age of the Erdtree hasn't ended yet. Gowry, in that dialogue, may have used the term "Age of the Elden Ring" to emphasize that the twin gods were born during the period in which the Elden Ring was at its most powerful, which was 100% during Radagon's rule (a.k.a. the birth of the Golden Order), well before the Shattering.

There is a scarlet bloom in the Haligtree right before you fight Melania, plus the Haligtree is covered in rot so her second bloom was prolly there, not in the lake of rot.

That is where you get the Traveler’s Set, the same set Millicent and her sisters wear, indicating that that bloom was most likely someone more like Millicent than Malenia.

I don't think Malenia bloomed third time. We only can get scarlet aeonia incantation after we defeat Malenia. And item description says she bloomed *twice* already. And sentence used wıth future tense. *With the third bloom, she will become a true goddess.* Plus, why we get demi-god felled title after we defeat her? Shouldn't we get god felled title? We only get god felled title after we defeat Marika/Radagon.

You get God Slain from killing the Elden Beast, not Radagon. Malenia is not killed, she is felled. Like all of the Demigods, you don't actually kill any of them. More on that in an upcoming video about Great Runes

@@JackisaMimic that assumes 'kill' is not the definition being used. Kill is one of the definitions of 'fell.' The only reason 'God Slain' wouldn't use it is to add weight to the message popping up because it's a god. It's a bit exhausting seeing people go 'oh it didn't say kill it used this word that includes kill in the definition so maybe it wasn't killed.' It's called a synonym. The wording and context of their usage implies death.

If you fell a tree it is not dead. As long as the roots survive the tree yet lives. The wording and usage implies death but it’s only an implication, without the Rune of Destined Death being released, Demigods can’t die. How do you explain Demigods dying before the Rune of Death is released, then?

@@JackisaMimic But still I am not convinced about the God Slain was from killing Elden Beast. Because Elden Beast is just a vassal belong to Greater Will. A vassal can't be a god. And we can't kill a god through its vassal. Even the blind swordsman could only sealed away Rot. Moreover, we saw Elden Beast get out of Radagon's body because Elden Beast is Elden Ring itself. And Elden Beast just used Radagon as a tool and made him sacred relic sword. And the item description says: Sword *wrought* from the remains of a *god* who should have lived a life eternal. This god is Marika the eternal. And she couldn't lived an eternal life because we slained Radagon. Radagon is Marika, but Elden Beast split Radagon from Marika and used him as a sword and Marika just became a husk after the battle. Radagon turned into a sword while Marika remains as husk. We slained Radagon, not Marika or Elden Beast. At least it is my theory. 🥰 Additionally when we use special skill of sacred relic sword, Radagon's rune occurs on the ground.

I would argue that GOD SLAIN is incorrect for a different reason: the Elden Beast is the Elden Ring, and we don’t destroy the Elden Ring. Instead, we hit it with a time travel stick. The Ancient Dragon Smithing Stones are polished scales of the Dragon Lord Placidusax and they “lightly twist time”. Based on that, I think can deduce that Hewg’s God slaying weapon doesn’t kill a god, but turns back its clock so it say

4:00 Surely the age of the Elden Ring ended when the Elden Ring was shattered by Marika. So the age of the Elden Ring just means before the shattering which is a no brainer.

The new trailer that just released seems to really be painting Miquella as a morally good character. Seems he might have separated himself from everything including Saint Trina. But fromsoft rarely has people so black and white in intentions so we will see if he is playing 4d chess.

I am not convinced, but I love the theory. If you addressed this I may have missed it, but question: Are we saying that the bit about the first of the demigods being Godfrey and his children, the golden lineage, is just wrong? Typically in Miyazaki storytelling, it is standard to take stuff at face value unless there is ambiguity inserted into it directly via phrases like "it is said" or "it is believed by many" or something like that.

Demigod has two meanings in Elden Ring: one is members of the royal godly family The other is children of Marika This is present in my Godwyn video but briefly: Godfrey is considered a demigod just for being married to Marika. The Carians kids are considered Demigod step children after Radagon marries Marika But Godfrey is not a child of Marika (he gets Legend Felled in his boss fight) and the Carian kids were always demigods, since Radagon is Marika. To the Lands Between a demigod is a title meaning royal family, but we know the truth From Enia: "Ahh, Great Runes are the stuff of demigods: the children of the goddess, Queen Marika.” Hope that makes sense. The game isn’t wrong or lying, it just gives words double meanings and we have to deduce how the word is actually being used. Words having dual meanings is very in line with the themes of duality in Elden Ring. From the dual authorship to just about everything !
