Radagon held a torch to light the way, a sword to stay the path, and a book to find the truth, and so have you! Happy we came to the same conclusion about the necessity of blood needed for trees! As well as your connection to the missing eyes and your Grace is a Lie video, one of the best theory videos out there. Really enjoyed your chapter on Messmer, the connection to his flame to the candletree roots. Excellent video as always. I wanted to add that I have theorized that Messmer's Flame may be the other half of Destined Death, where Maliketh's flame can kill the Demigods and Gods, Messmer's Flame can kill those without Grace, the Tarnished and so forth. I only base it on the transcript from the first trailer. Also, for Raddy, at the Minor Erdtree Church, the first time you get the dialogue in "Marika's Own Words" you get the Outer Order gesture. And beneath the Minor Erdtree Church is the Sealed Tunnel. Go take a trip to the Sealed Tunnel's boss room and tell me what you notice :P

ALIENS! 😱👀😂 Thanks for watching Jack! We’ll have to talk soon about the ramblings in our minds!
@ravendelacour19176 ай бұрын
Something I mentioned on the comments of one of Jack's videos was that the Crucible is a real life symbol in spiritual alchemy that represents the purification of a soul through suffering and discipline. What I didn't remember until later was that the Black Flame is the symbol of this purification within the Left Hand Path of enlightenment and represents this stage in alchemy refered to as nigredo. The Left Hand Path is the infernal path of enlightenment that takes place in the Underworld, of which the Land of Shadow is a title for. In spiritual alchemy Red is associated with life force purified by this ordeal called rubedo where the impurities of the soul are burned away to reveal the primal essence within it given by the divine. This primal Red Flame of the Crucible in-game could be a symbol of this primal flame at the center of all life.

Aaaahhh! (giddy excitement, not outrage) Before I continue watching I had to comment because @7:45 you mention the statue that I've been obsessed with since well before discovering it my first playthrough in the Church of Vows. You won't find it anywhere in the Lands Between. You will find it in Lothric and the Painted World of Ariandel in Dark Souls 3! Not a similar statue, it's identical. It's a reused asset. An easter egg of some sort. I've been obsessed with it because I believe it is a significant piece of evidence indicating the fluid identity and motives of a prominent yet mysterious goddess in Dark Souls. That they put this particular statue here in the Lands Between in a building of layered and changing identities where characters of changing identities performed world-shaping ceremonies... Well, I think it's an easter egg that indicates changing identities. And I also take it as a wink from Miyazaki that I'm totes right that Velka is Caitha. Ok! Now to continue watching! I'm so psyched you pointed this statue out!

Doesnt her posture remind you of finger maiden Therolina at the Radahn festival? Also Milicent posture, altho she doesn't have an extended hand, only holds her missing arm. If its a Darks Souls connection it might has nothing to do with our time in Elden Ring.... if I'm not mistaken there are other statues that are Bloodborne assets... fascinating

I have a couple of thoughts after watching this video. 1. Before the arrival of the Erdtree, the Shadow lands and the Lands Between were still conjoined together. Meaning that Marika, Godfrey and his Crucible knights, Messmer and the Omen and the Numen and everyone were all living together and interacting with each other upon a single giant landmass. This means that Messmer's purging war against the Crucible and Godfrey's assault on the Fire Giants could very well have been happening at the same time. 2. After fighting Mogh again yesterday I came away with the distinct vibe that he is doing Miquella's bidding. St. Trina is said to visit people in their dreams and give them compelling visions. I think what happened is that Miquella realized the Haligtree was failing and that while slumbering in his Haligtree cocoon, he paid a visit to Mogh in his dreams in the form of St. Trina and bewitched him.
@falgalhutkinsmarzcal39626 ай бұрын
I always thought the same thing about Mohg being summoned by Miquella/St Trina. None of the Haligtree knights or Loretta seem concerned about rescuing Miquella, despite the rot and ruin of the Haligtree. In fact, a few soldiers seem to be looking seaward for Miquella's return. They are all so calm...until they see us. Then they go kamikaze with ardor for Miquella. Their behavior speaks volumes about Mohg and Miquella.
@AHumanJusticar6 ай бұрын
Excellent points! I agree, the history of the Lands Between isn’t as linear as people want to make it. A lot of these things were probably happening around the same time. And remember, history is written by the victors! We’re told over and over that The Fire Giants were horrifying and monstrous but then we find an entire group of people MASSACRED by the Champions of the Erdtree. The same goes for the Nox. They committed treason and so were punished. But when I saw the petrified people with their arms held out wide, crying in horror, I knew; this is what happens when history is told by the winning side.
@jeffpritchard15926 ай бұрын
@@AHumanJusticar Honestly at this point it seems almost obvious that Marika committed multiple genocides in order to produce the root nutrients required (in the form of blood, flesh and soul energy) to produce the Erdtree. I mean, this was a civilization that was mass producing hundreds of clay fertilizer pots full of blood and dismembered bodies.

great video! that bit about turning the candle shield upside down 🤯 i recently realised the statutes of radigon seem to have gold hair, crown and double helix, as the marica ones are gray with gold on the crown and in patches on the veil, but not the hair, it might be just to signify its red but obviously propaga made it seem gold, just seems odd with there normal obsessive colour coding lol this unalloyed gold thing makes me think that marikas order is clearly alloyed, normally gold is alloyed with silver or nickel (silver color) its either she is silver and gold (18k gold or less) or copper and gold (tumbanga) super yellowish gold, kinda like whats on the roofs of leyndell and death lightning if you mix gold, silver and copper together you get rose gold google tells me this about mixing gold and silver :The naturally occurring alloy of gold and silver is commonly known as electrum. Its colour depends on the ratio of gold and silver in the mix: a whitish alloy appears below 50 per cent gold, turning to greenish yellow as the amount of gold increases, and bright yellow at around 85 per cent gold. greenish yellow..... kinda like the sap in miquellas swords! the white one i'm pretty sure is white gold, i think as marika has ties to the numen, who has ties to the nox, who has ties to the carians (silver) i think she is the white gold one, or possibly the gloam eyed queen as she tied to white ghost flame can't wait for this dlc, i won't spoil anything but seems is a big revelation that supports my theory 😁

I honestly had the exact same thought about Messmer’s flame being similar, if not identical to what we use to burn the Erdtree. In the reveal trailer, it emerges out of a black cloud, very much like the Rune of Death. Going back to the theory of there being a previous burning of the Erdtree, Messmer is without a doubt the primary suspect in this cardinal sin. He has both means and motive, given his likely inspiration in the ancient Sumerian deity Ningizhida. Moreover, given how strongly color coded the entire game is, this lines up. After Melina’s sacrifice, the Erdtree begins to give off light orange sparks, but after we defeat Maliketh and Destined Death enters the equation, the flames shift to a deep, blood red; the exact same color we see in the trailer showing the fight with Messmer. Also, on a tangential note, the Flame Guardians are likely descendants of the original Erdtree priests, seen carved out on the Lift of Rold. While these carvings show figures that look like a cross between the game’s perfumers and ancient Sumerian kings, they have a rather distinctive headpiece. This same headpiece can actually be seen below the hoods of the rank and file Fire Monks

I have an interesting theory: the misshapen Erdtree that we see in the DLC trailer isn't dripping gold at all: it's siphoning it up. We see other objects seeming to float upwards towards the tree. I think it's sucking up all the "gold" i.e. life force of all the people Messmer is killing and probably then funnelling it to the real Erdtree.

I’m of the opinion that the Erdtree is the second tree to exist. There was another older tree before that’s not mentioned much known as the Great Tree. At some point, probably around when Farum Azula was destroyed, the Great Tree was burned but it’s stump remained. Then Marika came along with the other Numen and grafted a shoot from an entirely different tree to the stump, and this eventually took over the whole thing and became the Erdtree. But then it had to have been burned again after that but before the Shattering because the current Erdtree is a spectral illusion that can only be seen by those guided by Grace, aside from a portion of the bottom of the trunk that remains.

Im starting to think in order to not die, e.g. taking the death rune out, time stays still within the lands between (making it the land between time) but whilst youre there it feels like like a normal day explaining the day night cycle, but nobody ages anymore but tarnished without grace can still die, just they get turned into rancors or whatever. I feel like time = death from old age for the demi gods and radamarika But the history in the whole place feels skewed, and i feel like the game lies in its descriptions )but only certain ones that are written as if someone was talking)we may learn in the dlc idk but i dont think time works normally within the lands between Also, Im starting to think how we see events in the dlc is chronological Marika rose from that bloodshed and started the war afterwards She betrayed the old and made a coup and then just kept dominating Perhaps she was born of that bloodshed who knows

Since we know that the golden rune shaped post things aren't a new grace, I have an idea as to what they actually might be. From the Helphen's Steeple item description: "Greatsword patterned after the black steeple of the Helphen, the lampwood which guides the dead of the spirit world. The lamplight is similar to grace in appearance, only it is said that it can only be seen by those who met their death in battle." We know that the Tarnished died in battle alongside Godfrey so it only makes sense that we should be able to see them, they are similar to grace in appearance, and I believe that the "Lampwood" in the item description is the name of the shadow tree given by the culture of the shadow lands before Marika's arrival. the golden "sap" dripping from the boughs appears to generate light and could be the source of these lamplights. All this only works if you believe the Shadowlands are the spirit realm mentioned in the item description however so this is a bit of a stretch.

I don't think it's a coincidence that apparently every outer god (except the scarlet rot apparently) has its own flame, I believe that they are all something derived from the crucible and have their own meanings, the frenzied flame is the one used to melt the materials in a crucible again, that of the Fell god is the one used to melt the crucible itself again and make the materials within it more malleable to work with, that of the formless mother is the one that represents the vitality of living beings that resides in the blood in abundance of heat, that of the greater will represents the flame of every living being and represents the flame of civilization and the spiritual flame that is probably linked with the outer god of death of the death birds representing the flame used to melt spirits rather than the fisic body

@@AHumanJusticar I think the gold in elden ring is used to represent life, the red gold is life with an abundance of vitality recurrently linked to the blood and therefore the formless mother, she grants power to the "cursed" blood of the omens, the omens are traces of the vitality and strength that living beings at that time presented and that is why the formless mother is interested in the vitality of Mogh's blood to make him her servant and I think the same applies to Miquella's abundance, which may also be linked with his blood and explain why he attracted the interest of Mogh and the formless mother One thing to note is that I think this is why the formless mother is called that, she is linked with fertility and Vitality, fertility is normally used in the context of a mother's fertility and her ability to bear children, and vitality is a formless concept if there is no body and being to express that vitality Meanwhile the gold of the golden order is yellow, representative of light and in turn of knowledge and enlightenment of the mind, a gold much more suitable for much more advanced civilization and living beings that have developed their minds much more rather than the bodies in an age without the need for abundant vitality

The 3 fingers is the only thing that completes the 2 fingers. One side is order one side is chaos. The frenzied flame is the only flame that can completely destroy the erd tree. It is the most powerful and fearful flame, therefore it is the flame that is removed from the golden order. As it is literally chaos to the order which is kind of like the crucibles might makes right attitude.
@WASDLeftClick6 ай бұрын
I personally don’t subscribe to this idea, because to me the Two Fingers look like a pointer finger and middle finger, while the Three Fingers look like a pinky finger, a ring finger, and a middle finger. I think there’s probably more to the Finger entities than meets the eye. Perhaps they aren’t directly connected to the Greater Will specifically, but exist independently and choose which god they want to serve.

Never noticed about the smiting stone being "vitrified", which may be yet another hint towards alchemy's V.I.T.R.I.O.L. (used to get unalloyed gold) I think all trees and plants in this game overall need blood to grow, with the great trees (crucible, erd, helphen, candle, halig) and Miquella attempted to circumvent that but found it impossible and now relies on other types of sacrifices, garnered through his bewitchments. Specifically he might be bringing certain types of blood to certain areas, as if culling herds in spirit form.

But it does occurvto me that the Black Flame is referred to as a "god-killing" power so it may be that fire is anti-Golden Order but they were tempted to use it anyway. So their demise may have been written into their foundation from the beginning, and they perhaps tried to counter this by acquiring a rebirthing ability for the Erdtree

Could it not be possible that Miquella manipulated Mohg to give him blood to grow the Halligtree in exchange for Miquella becoming Mohg's consort. And in the end, the hypnotized Mohg captured miquella and drenched him in blood to try and show a sort of appreciation? I believe that’s exactly what we’re seeing happen.

Astrologers weren't the original sorcerers they are the heirs to the glintstone sorcerers meaning, that the Astrologers are are the newer iteration. [Edit]: well there's conflicting information.

I believe they are. When it says that they were the ones who preceded them, that's a reference to the word predecessor, which means come before or ancestor. The Founding Rain of Stars is the *eldest* primeval sorcery discovered by an ancient Astrologer. *Thought to be the *founding* glintstone sorcery* I hope this helps!

It was a great video, but didn't you mean a story told in a dilapidated church by a dog? :'P

Great video except that "giant turtle" named pastor Miriel is actually just a regular size dog with a cool hat

All of that is great and all But your channel name... contains a pretty bad misspelling. Justicars don't exist. Justiciars do.

Mass Effect 2 has an Asari character who is a Justicar. It’s not a misspelling, it’s a gaming reference to my favorite franchise. Thanks for watching!

@@AHumanJusticar No, it is indeed a misspelling. It's just a super common one that is actually used in games and other fantasy media, because the people developing said media didn't realize that was a common misspelling. I am aware of the Justicar in Mass Effect, it's just that the devs were wrong. In reality, "Justicar" is supposed to be "Justiciar" in every piece of media the word appears in. From Wikitionary: _"While a justiciar was an actual historic role, justicars exist only in fiction of the sword-and-sorcery and science fiction genres. (There are occasional misspellings of the term justiciar as justicar.)"_ Just a crumb of information.
