Great actor, one of my favorites. I will watch something simply because he's in it. Talented person. RIP, sir. Oh, and Paulette Goddard? Wow! She was so beautiful, and talented. I never knew they were married. Thanks so much!

I just came across this clip and remembered his performance as Karen Black's salesman father in "Day Of The Locust " with the great, recently passed Donald Sutherland. The scenes of him going up all those Hollywood hills, with his suitcase full of his wares, only to be met with rejection during the Depression, was truly heartbreaking.

Wow. I has no idea he was from Cleveland. Thats near me! I love his Twilight Zone eps. I didn't realize that was him in Grumpy Old Men. Now im in the mood to watch an old B&W tv show lol This channel is great. Im only 41 but I love Old Hollywood. Everything looked so classy.

Burgess Meredith was cast with John Wayne in Otto Preminger's modern WW II saga In Harm's Way. Wayne was good, but Meredith still stole every scene with him. Superb actor, and funny.
