I was a fan. We knew nothing about his personal trials until his passing. His life was short but intense-the highest highs and tragic lows. RIP Anthony.

I always thought that he was born and raised in Queens, NY, which is why I was surprised when I read here that he grew up in Miami. I was a huge fan of Mase's tough style of play with the Knicks.

I would watch him play at Springfield Gardens high school when I came in as a freshman and he graduated as a senior, at the time, he was dating my best friend’s older sister, on the side, while he was still with Monica. I would also see him play pick up games at Montibeller Park (the bello) in Springfield Gardens, Queens with Lloyd Daniels Lloyd played for our rivals, Andrew Jackson high school. People like Kenny Smith, Lamar, Odom, Mark, Jackson, and escalade would come out to these games. At least I got to date a few of his exes and I’m still cool with his right hand man, Zeus, who also played for the high school team. if any of you folks get a chance to come out to Queens, right off the corner of Hillside and Parsons Boulevard, there is a gigantic mural of him. Rest in peace. (ironically, down the street, from where his mural is , on hillside, before Queens Blvd. is the Kia dealership which is owned by his ex teammate , John Starks)

back in the late 90's I was walking from the movies one night and when I got to 110th and morningside I saw som guys fighting... I went a little closer and it was Mason fist fighting with this Hispanic looking dude... and then about five years later I was selling my books on 125th street.... and Mason was out there book shopping... I asked him to buy my book and he looked at me like I was bugged out... it's all good tho'. life goes on

@@PSICK1234ikillallracistrollsNo he's not, a lot of people don't even know who the hell Anthony Mason was. But everybody knows who Draymond Green is. Plus Draymond Green has had better success. Anthony Mason Patrick Ewing and Charles Oakley weren't good enough to get it done. Bottom line.

That’s definitely false, Mase was a great player, outstanding on defense, all, but revolutionized the point forward position, maybe his shot needed a little bit of work, but he always did all the little things. Bear in mind, this guy went, toe to toe with Hall of Fame players such as Shaq, Sir Charles, Reggie Miller, MJ, Rodman, Larry Johnson, David Robison. Alonzo mourning Manute, Bol As well as his ex Knicks teammates, such as Patrick Ewing, Xavier, McDaniels, and Charles Oakley. I think Draymond Green would need an oxygen tank after a couple of rounds with those guys. I would sure love to have seen what hospital to the 90s New York Knicks team would have sent the 2010s Golden State Warriors to
