Thanks Derek 🥰 Yes I've actually noticed that most of the 60's and 70's groups from the United Kingdom all knew each other really well and had the same song writers, managers etc which I guess makes sense ☺️👍 Must of been great times in music industry back then ❤️

After listening again, just a slight correction, if I heard correctly, says he's survived by his mother etc, but sadly, Dave's mum, Betty Joan Harman passed away less than a year after her son, she died in October 2010 aged 88yrs ❤

@HarmonyHeartsLifestyle-ul5yv. Thanks for your work on this video. You may already know this. Dave Dee’s first wife Carol Dunning used to appear in the U.K. game show programme “Sale Of The Century” in the early 1980’s. Carol used the working name “Canasta” whilst on the show. Also I can remember Dave doing some radio DJ work for Capital Radio in London during the 1970’s and 80’s. He usually sat in for the regular jocks’ who were on holiday. Just recently, there has been an advert on U.K. tv with “Hold Tight” sung in Spanish (?) as the backing track! Thanks again. Stay safe and well.

This was good, as always. So, like the Beatles, they honed their chops in Hamburg before becoming famous. Would like to hear his version of Oasis and even listen to that LP. Here are some suggestions: Rick Danko and Robbie Robertson of the Band, Paul Revere, Rob Grill the lead singer of the Grass Roots, Scott Walker, Cory Wells and Floyd Sneed of Three Dog Night, and Tami Terrell
@HarmonyHeartsLifestyle-ul5yv15 күн бұрын
Thanks very much Chris 😁💗 Have taken note of your suggestions 😃👍 Been enjoying British Invasion artists lately but will definitely be mixing it up in the near future. Grass Roots' Temptation Eyes and Midnight Confession are amazing songs! Could listen to those 2 songs on loop all day without tiring of them 💯😂❤

One of the few 60s bands whose B sides were every bit as strong as the songs that made them famous, Still Life and Please are particularly good. Perhaps their most underpraised claim to fame is the beat of Hold Tight, which was appropriated by England supporters during the 1966 World Cup and remained a staple of terrace chanting for decades afterwards.

Shame the band almost fell out with Dave over the song Legend of Xanadu. They said he liked to crack the whip too much.
@HarmonyHeartsLifestyle-ul5yv15 күн бұрын
In the video clip he went a bit crazy with that whip 🤣
@marilynjaynemiller924114 күн бұрын
@HarmonyHeartsLifestyle-ul5yv Yeah, Dave had to be properly trained to crack a bull whip, ( I too, as a fan, gotta whip & trained,kinda complicated to make the crack ,it is a small "sonic boom") At gigs, saw them loads, guitarist, Tich, would use a metal slide along guitar neck, to enhance the sound of Dave's whip.. just bit of trivia 😀

@@HarmonyHeartsLifestyle-ul5yv hi there, yep, takes some training 😀 as using a bull whip is more theatre/ circus stuff, I know Dave bought the ceiling down, a little, whilst learning, a couple of times!! Great fun 😆
