When I was around 11 years old, I lived in a small town of a couple of thousand people. The largest grocery store in town had a meat supplier that had a giant that would go around to all of the grocery stores advertising the quality of the beef he raised. The whole town showed up to see him. This man was 8ft 2in tall and had a size 24 shoe. He drove a 65 Chevy Impala where the had to take out back seat, move the front seat almost as far back in the car as it would go, and extend the steering column so he could drive it. It was a sight watching him crouch down to get through the door. He was a very nice gentleman and stayed signing autographs and answering questions for I don't know how long? I do remember a woman asking him if he was married, and he said yes. And then, a woman asked how tall she was, and when he said 5ft 4in...you should have heard the gasps and giggles!? I didn't know what that truly meant at the time but... Anyway...this brought back that memory. Thought I'd share...

Sometimes you can just see innocence and a kind temperament through a person’s face - and I see so much of those things in Robert. I feel like this poor guy didn’t get the chance he deserved in life. They say ‘bad things happen to good people’ and here’s an example to that saying. It’s tragic for anyone to pass at 22 but somehow it seems crueller when it happened to a gentle and affable person. If there is an afterlife, I hope Robert has lots of friends, his own height, running and playing and climbing and feeling as free as a bird.
