To me it makes sense that a vlogger would call it computer work, because it feels like just categorising the different types of work by how they look, and while that probably wouldn’t work for most people, it makes sense if you film it

Hoooly crap, as someone who is starting to explore a potential ADHD diagnosis, I can't imagine seriously putting that many things on the to do list and actually expecting yourself to achieve it all PLUS anticipating that there would be time left over in which to relax. Like, if I was making a to do list like this, it would be more of a 'wishlist' off of which I could choose about one or two items (three at the /very/ maximum) and suddenly be exhausted and wondering where my entire day has gone. And if this is a /light/ day for you? Hannah, dude, you are living the *dream*. 😭 On a more on-topic note, I really don't consider you a "lifestyle influencer" (as I don't typically watch those) but more of a, like you said, behind-the-scenes glimpse into another person's life. It's scratching that primal curiosity of "oh, how do other people live their lives?", but you do a really good job of sharing the practicalities and mundanity of your situation to keep an otherwise somewhat aspirational lifestyle from looking too glamorous. (Like, not the kind of 'aspirational' I usually associate with lifestyle influencers, but more like an, "oh wow, she owns an apartment and can afford a kid? you go girl 👏 " 😂😂. Like, it's inspirational without feeling unattainable, y'know? You don't seem like an out-of-touch influencer at all, just a regular person who got luckier than average but works hard and is constantly reevaluating what makes sense financially and priorities-wise, just like the rest of us.)

Omg same! I'm a 1-2 tasks a day max girlie (unless you count rest/recovery which is a mandatory daily activity). I went to three appointments last week and I've had multiple daily migraines since as my reward. I sometimes fall into the trap of beating myself up watching vlogs like this ("why am I so lazy? Why don't I have a successful creative career? Why is taking a shower a major task that I need to both plan for and recover from??") then I remember disability exists and able-bodied, neurotypical people are BLESSED. Love watching videos like these as part of my hot girl mandatory rests and enjoying the secondhand satisfaction.
@alissa6380
@alissa6380 2 ай бұрын
@@Hannah-wh3vo oh dude i *feel* you on the migraines after appointments. signed, a person who has chronic headaches and just bought three migraine caps that she is currently switching between every fifteen minutes to be moderately more functional in home that gets pretty hot in the sun (and yup, i usually have about two hours max of daily 'productivity', the rest is eaten up by maintenance tasks and the mandatory rest without which I've learned I burn out super quickly)

Also, regarding the lifestyle influencers - all they tend to do these days is film vlogs of what their life is like. Vloggers for the most part all used to have a niche (beauty, books, sex education, etc.) and did a little life vlogging on the side, but then eventually most of them slid towards primarily doing life vlogs. No wonder a lot of them feel fatigued with their content. And I definitely agree that Hannah feels very different from that! She still does the 'traditional sit-down' videos that aren't just showing her day-to-day life!

Love the vibe of this video 😂 I’m currently unemployed and it’s the first time that day lifestyle influencer days are relatable - waking up late, cooking breakfast, meeting friends at cafes in the middle of the day, running errands not on the weekend and some light “computer work” 😅 I enjoy a bit of lifestyle content, but I only watch people who do talk about their lives being a bit unusual and sometimes fabricated.

Oh I loved Tiffanys video and yours, too 😊 I have watched a lot of fashion/style lifestyle influencer vids in the past but have kinda lost interest recently. I guess it felt too odd when they always have insanely busy days that consist of waking up, get fancy matcha, go to pilates, mani/pedi, facial etc etc. But I also get that this is the content, too. But the real work part that comes with it, they never show. Would find that interesting. Do they plan those fashion shoots they do in the street? When it‘s a partnership, how does it work with the brand, how is the management involved. That‘s also smth I really appreciate about your work

I do end up following creators I don't relate to, but I also think that's what makes them interesting and different from just talking to friends who do the same things I do. I like watching travel vlogs of places I'll never afford to go from informative people like Safiya Nygaard; I like watching you even though I don't have a child and don't relate to any of the mum content; and I like watching pretty much anyone clean out their closet or reorganise a room--to motivate me to do mine! I don't tend to follow a lot of 'beauty errand' girlies, but to each their own. I do think most people watch 'productivity' and to-do list vlogs either to get in the mood to do their own lists, or as background while they do them.

It's so funny to see this because my KZbin channel is mainly just me vlogging my life as it happens - but definitely not doing anything actively to make it more 'interesting'! I actually find it quite frustrating when I'm watching a vlog and the KZbinr is clearly doing things that to me are certainly not a priority nor a necessity (eg. getting nails done, or going clothes shopping every week, etc.) 😅

I don't think it's weird to say "computer work" as a content creator. Sure my job now is 100% on the computer, but when I was a store manager I would say things like "I'm having an office day" or "I'll be on the shop floor this afternoon" because my role had multiple areas of work. A content creator can't be 100% on a computer, so it's not weird to describe the set computer time as such, is it?

Lifestyle vloggers don't annoy me when they appreciate their privilege like yourself. It winds me up when they insist their life is SO tough and they're exhausted when their to do list includes tasks such as "brush teeth" and "take out the bins". Plus those who keep whinging when their income is dropping yet think getting a minimum wage entry level job to plug the gap is beneath them. It's called being self employed and it comes with lots of benefits but lots of risk 😂 A fitness influencer is currently winding people up because she fails to see how essentially being PAID to go to the gym means she can devote more time to fitness than people with say, an office job. No joke, her stories genuinely say this today: *QUOTE* "Fitness is easier for people whose job is fitness". Let's reframe this - hard is hard and hard is relative. So wild, my dishes didn't put themselves away, trash didn't take itself out, dog didn't walk itself or feed itself while I lifted this morning. I actually am on your guy's side but this kind of dismissing is so shortsighted. *END QUOTE* Seriously, people with full time jobs trying to stay fit have their jobs, all this life admin AND then need to find the time to work out. She has 45 hrs a week more than me simply by not having a traditional job!

In regards to the final question, i watch a couple of lifestyle influencers or vlogers. Sometimes it makes me wanna quit my 9 to 5 and do that thing or have that slow life of running arrends. The feeling goes quickly since i dont like sharing as much, cant tolerate others random opinions and i'm very bad with numbers and self organisation. I get the impression you're all really interested in metrics, numbers, video editing and I don't wish to learn new skills anymore. I would like to get more money out of the set of professional skills I have already acquired (specialist in violence against women).

Because I am not part of my your book club & have not read the book. But my bone of contention is that back in the mid nineties when we went from L&G to LGBT there was the word Transsexual. We used Transgender because it represented everyone who challenged 'traditional' gender assumptions! Then along a bunch of insecure autocratic & religious rightwingers & the medical community and claim that Transgender = Transexual. Just as they did on the past when they claimed that rather than GAY equalling not straight (And STRAIGHT did NOT mean heterosexual for example you might be Heteosexual but in my opinion you are definitly not straight) that GAY now only meant Closeted Straight Acting Gay Men I.e. Straight on the streets Gay only in the BED, BAR and SHEETS. It's has happened before the universeal suffrage movement became the womens suffrage movement and became the "suffragettes". Just like feminism became supposedly about burning bras not seeking equality and empowerment. Just as the current Terfs are mostly gay men and straight women kicking down and hurting and excluding women. Transgender was about inclusion of the diversity of humanity not about saying that if your transxual woman your whole existance is about being transfeminine and transexual men it's all about being transmasculine. Which is a tiny selection of what Transgender used to be but also excludes me because I am a butch lesbian with long hair who 40+ years ago stopped lying to people in school and started to be me, wearing clothes appropriate to my gender and I now wear combat trousers & five fingers buy racer back bras to care for my breasts which are physiologically bigger than yours as they are about a K cup but I wear 52" GGG bra on a 46" frame and they grew that large because proportionally mum, sisters, nieces, grandmothers and aunts are about the same. I an a woman, I was born a little girl and I was tortured till I would pretend to be a boy and by 5 I was repeatedly trying to take my own life. Imagine Rowan when they are 5 making their first suicide attempt because you wont allow them to be themselves. I hope KZbin will aow this to be published
