If you have played No Man Sky anytime recently and tried their updates (or hell just look at the update trailers), it's not hard to imagine that they can deliver what they shown in the Light No Fire trailer because the same / similar mechanic shown there is ALREADY implemented in No Man Sky. Base building, under water stuff, crazy biomes, the flying mount which is basically kinda like how you pilot your ship, the animal mounting, npcs.

True, but why not show real gameplay? This is clearly a very polished fake gameplay like they did with OG NMS. It's hard for me to imagine they would fail like they did with NMS AGAIN, but it is kinda sus as far as the trailer goes. Otherwise I think it's a really good idea, a single, huge, generated planet and stuff sounds awesoem.
@norezplaysgames
@norezplaysgames 10 ай бұрын
@@NoName-ym5zj Naw, that was real gameplay. Everything we saw in the trailer is completely believable that they have a working game at this point. Why? Because it all exists in their existing game, albeit with a different twist. If this were a different company, I'd be way more apprehensive, but they have given me absolutely no reason to think otherwise. HG is a different company now than at the NMS launch, and people who think they haven't changed haven't been paying attention.

"In no man's sky one planet is red and another one is kinda blue" Have you actually played it since release? There are anomalous scaly planets, robot planets, erupting volcano planets, there are tornadoes that actually pick you up and throw you around, there are all sorts of animals, including extremely weird ones. There are corrupted planets with gravity storms and so on and so forth. When was the last time you *actually* played NMS?

9:40 i think this is kind of a bad argument to have. Because the light no fire trailer style is exactly the same style also as any other content updates for No Man Sky. it's just their style of delivering the info, which does work to give you hype. The point is, they arent trying to overhyped you just like how they did back then, it's just the style of trailer they have had all these time.

Yes, this is a “let’s wait and see” because it’s just an announcement trailer. But I wouldn’t say there are red flags yet. It’s too early to say it’ll be good, and it’s too early to say it’ll be unsuccessful. A little excitement is good but the next trailer will likely show us more about what the game is going to be about, and then we’ll see if it’s worthy of hype. It’s good to keep in mind also that they’re still releasing updates for NMS and those are enjoyable, so they have the tech side down.

I don't particularly disagree with anything here, but people seem to ommit some important differences between Hello Games now and back then. As I understand it, the main reason for the disaster launch of NMS was the publishing pressures put on it in combination with Sean's team of optimistic and rather shy dreamers. Fastforward to now, when they have bags of funding of their own and tons of experience making an incredibly similar game. I also don't think it's dumb to trust devs that go so beyond expectations to fix their mistakes as Hello Games have. I think at some point it almost becomes unreasonable to hold on to past mistakes.

“Sean’s team of optimistic and shy dreamers” is a really cute way of saying they lied to your face. They also didn’t fix any mistakes. They KNOWINGLY LIED ABOUT THEIR GAME. They should not get any credit for DOING THE BARE MINIMUM of making the game they promised. They actually have to deliver on the promises of a game AT LAUNCH in order to start getting the benefit of the doubt. This trend of people saying “you lied to my stupid face and took my money while delivering a bucket of dog poop but 4 years later you gave the thing I ordered so it’s all cool now and I’m gonna get hyped for your next game” is actually mind numbing and makes me want you people to keep getting scammed.

I don't really think there is much of a comparison between the 2 because unlike No Man's Sky, I think Light No Fire will have a much stronger launch simply because the game will most likely have base building and multiplayer on day 1 of release rather than waiting months or years for those features to be added to the game lol Also Back then, hello games still an inexperienced game studio who had never dealt with something on the scale of no man sky before and when Sean first even spoke about no man sky in 2013 the game was very early in development. Many of the controversies over that game happened during a time when hello games themselves were still trying to figure out the type of game they wanted no man sky to be In 2023 hello games are now a far more experienced game studio that has spent years releasing many successful updates for no man sky, and they even released the critically acclaimed game the last campfire in 2020. Also, unlike no man sky "Light No Fire" has been in development for more than 5 years before they finally decided to reveal it to the public...

@@dr.loomis4221 It is always good to keep everything in mind. You are correct to say that we should temper our hype for Light no Fire (LnF) because of the scale of the team working on it and looking at the past experience. However I would argue that there are things amiss in this argument. 1st, the most obvious one is that unlike the first trailer of NMS, the launch and the "before" of each update, they know have the knowledge they have gathered until *today* (although it took 5 years to NMS to become what it is today, they have the entirety of the knowledge) : They also have proven to be much better than many other big companies for procedurally generated content 2, are you sure they were 37 ? I can see that they're 26 in the team and I doubt that they would have cut the number of employees when NMS brung so much money - at the beginning with an unfinished product - and when NMS is now highly regarded by the community. If there was a change in numbers, I would argue it would be in the upscaling size although I can't back up what I say to 100 %. 3, I would also argue that the team size working on LnF will change, shifting current full timers of NMS to LnF, (the first ones might have created a proof of concept and added the basic mechanics as of now), this paired with the knowledge of each individual will not mean that they need to have grown 5 times to deliver. 4, On the "not proven they can launch a large scale game that is "as advertised"", as NMS was a first, it is right to say that, however, as it is a first, we can't make a concluding conjecture just yet on that matter, it would be silly. Now NMS is actually more than it was advertised at first, so I can also think that they can now know how much effort should be put in a "large scale game" Lastly, they have not given us any dates, which is for the best, as they keep themselves from rushing (as of now), and looking at the effort they gave to transform NMS to that state today, while making less than minimum press, I think two things : Either the final product sold (in 3-6 years ?) lives up to the hype at the beginning (which is, I admit, not certain, but we never know (e.g. BG3) ) Or it is underwhelming (not as much as NMS when it got out) and will eventually become what it was supposed to be.

They've shown they can competently generate large masses of land procedurally, they've shown they can do base-building properly, they've shown they can do multiplayer correctly, etc. Most of the stuff is reskins. The only thing I'm a little on the fence about is it being a massively multiplayer experience. I think the big difference between the two trailers is that, as mentioned in the video, the No Mans Sky trailer had a lot of rendered footage whereas the Light No Fire gameplay, if the trailer is to be believed, is in game footage. That difference along with their continued dedication to No Mans Sky post launch makes it easier to buy into the trust and hype. Another thing to keep in mind is that while I completely agree No Mans Sky had a failed launch and should have waited to release, the studio lost a ton of their data during development when their studio flooded. I think that really hurt them being able to implement the features shown in the trailer in time for the release and they just left them out instead of pushing the release out. I say this not to dismiss how inexcusably bad No Mans Sky was at launch, but to say that it had it's valid, albeit fixable, reasons for being so. All this to say that I have a fair bit of faith in this being a decent launch that they build up into a phenomenal game, and even if it tanks at launch I think they will build it up into something amazing.

Tbh, I don't really see the relevance of comparing the first trailer for NMS and the first trailer for LNF. Yes, in form the two trailers have similarities, particularly in terms of structure, because HelloGames has kept the same trailer structure for all their trailers since the one in 2013. But in terms of content, they have nothing to do with each other. What I mean by that is that when NMS came out in 2016, with all the problems we know about, the previous games HelloGames had made were the Joe Danger series, so they had nothing to do with NMS. They had to start from scratch. But for LNF it's completely different, as they have 7 years' experience with NMS behind them (not to mention The Last Campfire). And as an NMS player, everything (almost) I saw in the LNF trailer is stuff that already exists or exists in part in NMS. For example, the mechanics of the dragon that flies away and allows you to move around are exactly the same as those of the ships in NMS. Another example : the tree that one of the players is cutting down is almost exactly the same model as one of the trees in NMS, with more detail and a few modifications. I could go on and on. Of course, that doesn't mean we can't ask questions about LNF, particularly when it comes to multiplayer, because although it exists in NMS, there are problems with stability and synchronisation. But I don't see what the problem is with getting hype by the trailer. I personally found this trailer more interesting and eye-catching than the one for GTA VI (this is just my opinion). I will finish by saying that in any case, whatever the game, you should never pre-order. It's better to wait for the game to be released, for there to be reviews, or for people on KZbin or Twitch (or whatever) to play the game so that you can make up your own mind. But that applies to all games.

I'm ready and willing for Hello Games to prove me wrong and knock all of our socks off.

Just repeating myself alot I think, but the TLDR version of my longwinded ramble is something like. No Man Sky already does all of the things shown in Light No Fire, we just need to see if they can make the world with the size they claim. If you don't like exploration for exploration like in NMS this will likely disappoint, but tons of people are really into that, and some want the fantasy flavor. --- Sure people are expecting too much, but expecting too little is also a thing someone can do. This is basically a reskin of NMS, but an interesting one to me. I think implying this is as big of a reach as their first attempt is disingenuous.. a little bit anyway.. They don't need to build an engine and everything from scratch... And yea, in NMS its about exploration, crafting, building and little else.. That's likely what this is and many people enjoy it and are still playing it to this day. If you don't like exploration for exploration you probably wont like this and likely dont like NMS even after all the updates. There isn't some rich involved game play loop, no in depth combat where you have to think and counter opponents.. Just exploration.. find stuff upgrade your stuff so you can find more stuff, build something cool or dumb, do basic missions to zap things and get cosmetics.. Its a vibe of its own and yea, alot of people still find NMS boring, so they likely will with this too. I don't think it will have 'challenging gameplay' beyond what we've already seen from them... Also don't downplay what they have already done. Even back with the disappointing launch, when they were smaller than their current team, they managed to make an actual universe.. even if it lacked multiplayer, had break dancing aliens, and didn't have any features other than exploration, ship flying, and resource gathering.. The major difference between NMS and this, other than the fantasy thing and not starting from square one, seems to be that instead of a shared universe with almost endless worlds, this is one shared world the size of earth, or something close, with procedurally placed environments and things. NMS procedural stuff also isn't rouge-like procedural stuff, which alot of people seem to assume.. In NMS people on the other side of the irl world aren't on another server.. well they are.. but the stuff is shared, so if you went to the planet those people built a base on in nms you can see what they did... And even if they didn't do anything, that world they were on will look exactly the same to you as it does to them. Any world anyone visits will be the same if they visit that exact world. You wont land on that planet and the terrain be completely different due to your instance or what have you. That's how things currently are in NMS... So why wouldn't it be similar in this game? Why assume they will change it? Why assume they will throw out all their work and start from scratch? In nms you got different vehicles you can find.. light no fire has mounts.. same difference.. you can tame animals in nms, even if its super basic.. so that tracks.. You can build in nms.. and light no fire.. Harvest resources.. yea.. There are even different races you can play as in NMS.. and light no fire seems to be the same. One can argue that the trailer isn't a 1 to 1 for what the game looks like.. I'm personally skeptical on the draw distance and clouds, but thats just because those aren't already in NMS.. They probably don't have the world fully made, if they did it would be released yea? So this trailer footage would likely be a carefully curated and controlled walk through some premade things.. Likely with some automated movement and what have you.. Again, if the world was made, and all this was done and fully working the game would likely be out. Though in some of those flashes the terrain looks basic, like it just has a texture slapped over it so who knows. Anyway, people should just be expecting a fantasy themed NMS style game on a single insanely large planet, not much more than that has been claimed or hinted at through the trailer.. Sure there will be fantasy flavor changes, but this isn't dark souls or skyrim or lord of the rings. The part that will be a challenge for them and has yet to be seen if they can manage, is actually making a planet that is the size of earth with biomes that are diverse and transition well. I know games like star citizen have specialized streaming things to pull off something massive like that without load screens, but does hello games have something that is similar or serves that role? If they pull that one thing off.. the size of the world will insure you dont have to see peoples builds wherever you go.. People keep underestimating the size of earth.. A planet in nms is 70 square miles.. and if you want to see how big that is just land on a planet and try walking on foot all the way around it.. Mounts in light no fire may be faster than walking, but they aren't space ships that get into orbit... A game like skyrim is like 14 square miles or something and riding a horse from one side to the other takes a little while.. The earth is over 190 million square miles.. So unless the entire population of earth starts playing Light No Fire, I think we would be good.. Again.. I don't think this game will appeal to people that don't like the vague open ended exploration of NMS.. I have no reason to think it will be different, as they haven't even claimed it would be. People who only like the scifi and space theme of NMS wont play this for long either because its not their thing. There are many who play NMS just to fly space ships.. I'm personally looking forward to Light No Fire, as a fantasy style NMS is right up my alley.. If they eventually add vr support like in NMS.. people may not see me again. I am very much content with exploration and seeing whats over the next hill.. I'm the guy who slow walks in rpgs.. So you know there is something wrong with me... Also here's a cookie.. 🍪

Looking forward to it my self, the scale is kind of hard to comprehend, I love exploration games and the fact that this planet is supposed to have multiple biomes and even rivers, on the scale they claim, which I think they can pull off, I can't wait. I really hope if one does run unto another build that we can share our explored map information via a map table or something along those lines. First objective is to circumnavigate the entire map, and I really hoe we can make roads, that would be super.

To me, most people seem reasonably "hyped" for this game, mainly because it looks just like a "basic" survival game, only with a larger map that has more realistically scaled environments. Technically, with what was explicitly announced, it is less ambitious than No Man's Sky in every way except the scale of the planet's procedural generation. The only way some people (a minority, tbh) are getting disturbingly hyped, is when it comes to the multiplayer aspect : we don't know how it will exactly work, so it would be reasonable to expect No Man's Sky's multiplayer and *nothing more*, and yet some people are starting to imagine some insanely ambitious tech like Star Citizen's seamless server-meshing which would let every player on Earth play in the same instance with persistence, and work together as groups of hundreds/thousands in a MMO fashion...

I don't care. Hello Games has worked on NMS for almost 8 years after launch, and all those updates are free. I'm giving them my money, if nothing else than to thank them for their work on NMS. I'm hyped for this game and I really don't care if it's not as amazing as people think it's going to be. I don't care if it's not going to be as amazing as I think it's going to be (I really don't have any expectations). Hello Games now has a reputation of working on their games far longer after their launch than most developers ever think to. I get that people who don't play NMS don't have that same belief, but it's pretty disingenuous to just throw away all the work they've done to fix their reputation the past 8 years. "Most of what they promised" No, they delivered everything they promised and more over the last 8 years. Just stop, we get it, you don't play NMS and don't understand the work they've put into it. I'm sure you're super excited for whatever CDPR comes out with next though... You're being pathetically hypocritical, Luke. "They're not magical." I'm not really "hyped" but I am optimistic. So long as they take their time with it, don't set a definitive deadline (one of the reasons NMS had problems at launch), be willing to delay as long as they can, and don't over promise what they can deliver for the initial launch, I am hopeful that it will be good. I also hope they focus on making the combat significantly better then NMS, because NMS felt quite janky combat-wise (not bad, just awkward). An example of me being hype is Monster Hunter Wilds. I am buying that game day one, pre-ordering it even, because I'm a sucker for Monster Hunter and I will play it no matter what. They'd have to make individual monsters separate DLC instead of an expansion or free update for me to drop Monster Hunter as a series.

I am an optimistic at heart that wants to believe all the hype. But ever since Chronicles of Elyria burned me big time, I have become skeptical with just about every game. Oh sure I still get hyped up for a game. It's just that I temper the hype with a "wait and see" attitude before I fully invest in a game now. So sad really. And now on a side note. Why is it become acceptable for every game to be released either broken or incomplete? When Steam started the trend to buy Beta's of games for a fraction of the cost, I thought that was a great thing. But now it seems the game companies have taken advantage of that by charging full price for games that are incomplete but advertising that they are finished.

I like the concept of having an engine with different “plugins” running to give different features to each game, and then take these and reuse it for the other game as the tech evolves. With Light No Fire, I imagine this might be the best thing going to happen for No Mans sky, they could take all the experience from making 1 planet with lots of content and variation of life and different climate depending on on where you are on the planet, and take this tech and run that “plugin” in No Mans sky, so we could have all these planets, and really see civilations on these in the future, with variation of landscape changing where you are on the planet and different tripes and maybe even different ages of tech on them :) Dreaming, but doing two so different games with one focus on endless planets, and the other one with 1:1 content, this could only benefit No Man Sky, If the team are planning to keep on evolving No Man’s Sky

Be skeptical. People mention all the free updates.. but look at what they gave us (and will give us Feb 24). New ships.. it's their default. They aren't story tellers. They couldn't tell an interesting story to save their lives. I can't imagine how they plan to have folks continue going when they couldn't even tell a story in NMS. What makes you think that a company with basically the same people, that disappointed players at first and improved the game to what it is today, could regress and disappoint in the same way again? They clearly know how to make a lot of things work now. This game can only be an improvement on the lesson they've learned. Besides this being more compressed yet being a giant open world, I don't see how you can mess that up using the same engine. I believe that the hype should be more validated now based on the successes that no man sky eventually achieved. I can't really think of one mistake they have made in all the updates they have provided to NMS over the past 7/8 years. It seems pretty clear they learned from their mistakes. A simpler game like The Last Campfire should also be considered in the equation, a recent game from the same team that has received nothing but praise. I completely agree, people need to keep expectations in check. Personally, I'm just expecting what we currently have in NMS but a bit more focused and refined, set to a different genre. If that's what we get, I think many people will be very happy. If you've recently played NMS and didn't like it, you probably aren't going to like this.

But everyone would do well to remember that even if they can do everything they're promising... they can also still mess it up with a broken, glitchy, badly optimized launch, and/or network problems etc. So I'd say, celebrate the fact that you can reasonably trust that they will indeed keep working on the game, but accept that it may NEED continued work, and don't pass out hyperventilating over a title that isn't out yet.

After watching trailers of no man's sky, thinking it looks cool, great idea but ughh.... Then after their recent update, and starting a playthrough. No man's sky is so big and so diverse that it's beyond comprehension. It would mathematically take u over some 70 million years in real time to explore every planet. It's endless what u can actual create, from base building on a random planet to fleets of spaceships exploring the galaxies looking for loot and materials while u do your own thing. It takes over 60 hours of game play to actually understand how to do things in the tutorial, you're still in the ”welcome to star field" at almost 100 hours in game play and learning how things work. I don't think most people realize and appreciate what's going on with this game, its far more than people realize.

No mans sky fans expect nothing more than the same formula, applied in a more concentrated way, on a single planet. It is the same engine, which they had 7 years to refine and perfect. If light no fire manages to give me half of the 600 hours of exploration that NMS gave me, I'm satisfied, so I don't think my hype is unjustified.

But the Creation engine 2 actually WAS a revamp of the engine. Revamped rendering system, revamped lighting system, revamped materials system, revamped weather system, revamped procedural generation system, on a technical level, it IS a revamp. You can’t say that Unreal engine 3 is the same as Unreal engine 5 and that nothings changed and it’s all “tech Words”, there ARE quantifiable differences in the tech. Still bugs, because Bethesda, but overall a much more advanced iteration of the engine than Fallout 4. Btw starfield is an amazing game stay mad about it lol

This is technically absolutely true. And the fact is, contrary to what many believe, BGS has never used a single engine twice. I'm quoting my modder friends that "each game the engine has gotten significantly more capable and more stable". However people expected something more. What they assumed "Creation Engine 2" implied was an attempt at solving the age old problem. An engine that can be interacted with the same as before at the level of syntax/code, but at the same time it's written from the ground up to circumvent all the problems and limitations of the previous engines. It was a challenging task, but a multi-billion dollar company had the resources to do that. But they didn't. And to be honest, why would they when the previous strategy still sells?

The NMS gameplay loop we have today is not that different from what it was in the beginning, there was just so much that got in the way for it which made it bad. In my case I couldn't play the game properly in the beginning because I kept encountering bugged or poorly optimized planets that would crash you so frequently there was a challenge to escape them. I'm expecting a similar gameplay loop in LNF, and I won't be surprised if it comes off a bit barebones to start, but that's fine if I can actually play the game, lol. And considering they don't have Sony forcing them to release early I'm not too worried about that. But that's just me. x3

NMS is STILL over hyped to this day! I just recently went and played through the entire game again, about 100 hours, and it's still just OKAY. It's no man's sky. Nothing more. People are giving them a pass because of the free updates over the years but I don't want a good game that takes 10 years, no one should want that. We ought to demand as gamers a great game at launch. Nothing less is acceptable. If a dev gets away with it once they will cut corners again, even if it's not intintionally deceptive this time around, we shouldn't hold our breath this time around. Good video as usual.

It's definitely not impossible, but I find it HIGHLY unlikely that Hello Games would EVER repeat the same mistakes they made with No Man's Sky! Especially because now, they are unburdened by corporate money and forced release dates. They're developing Light No Fire on their OWN terms, and I think their game is gonna launch the way they want it to!

This is going to be epic based on including and expanding upon everything they 've created for NMS till now...but on a fantasy setting taking place on a single planet with much more details and verticality from what it seems. Good enough for me! DO NOT disappoint us, Hello Games!

It looks interesting, but I caution people to temper their expectations. Its amazing how people are like "NO YOU ARE CRAZY HAVE YOU SEEN NMS??!" and I'm just sitting there thinking this could be amazing, but it could also be boring. I must admit though this looks a lot more appealing to me than the original NMS trailer did, and certainly more achievable.

I expect the game to play essentially exactly how no man’s sky plays only instead of flying to a different planet for a new biome instead of a dragon to another part of the same planet. That said NMS offers so much so I don’t expect it to be any less anticipating

I agree that hype can be a bad thing and ultimately lead to disappointment and loss of money... Hell, it's happened to me more than I can count. That being said, every now and then, there is a developer that I feel has earned my hype, and Hello Games is one of them. Even if Light No Fire doesn't hit everything that I hope it does at launch, I have absolutely 100000% confidence they will NMS it and keep updating it until it's a masterpiece. I have zero issues with giving them my money for this game.

Creation Engine 2 is not the exact same thing as CE1. Yes it might have some of the same problems and stuff but its still a significant upgrade over the first one. If we go by your logic than Unreal Engine 5 is just the same engine as Unreal Engine from 1999, Valve's Source 2 is the same engine as Quake engine from 1996 etc.

I have ambivalent feelings. I was disappointed with NMS myself (although now I think they managed to fix it). So common sense tells us that "since they sold us a piece of crap once, which they had to repair for years, they will do it again." But on the other hand... when Hello games made NMS they had nothing. They had a concept, but it was so loose that they didn't even know what they wanted to do in this game. They had no skills, no technology, no specific vision, no grasp on the reality of how many players spend absurd amounts of time on such games, so they did not predict how identical their "procedurally generated worlds" would look. And they had no idea how much time was needed for such a large project. But now they have all these things. If, for example, Microsoft announced Minecraft 2 and it was exactly the same game, but instead of a procedurally generated infinite world, we had a procedurally generated universe with planets, moons and asteroids (a bit like Astroneer), wouldn't you believe them? Because Minecraft has been in development for 20 years, so surely they won't be able to do it? Exactly. And Hello Games is in the same situation. They already have their Minecraft, all they need is a handful of lines of code for a few new elements and new textures for old mobs. This trailer didn't show anything that they didn't already have in the NMS futures closet.

I need to see more about the game. Like i dont understand what the point of the game is. You see like the bunny people kneeling to you. Are you some type of hero? You see them holding different weapons so how much are you fighting stuff. Is that big robot looking guy a boss? Are the different creatures aggro to you and if you kill them do you get different things you can craft stuff with? Like if its just about exploring what are you exploring. Are there like dungeons with traps and stuff? Like minecraft is more about the building but they have atleast added bosses here and there. Is this the same and minecraft has mobs that attack you often do the creatures attack you often? Was there leveling? Like nothing was explained in this at all. I get the hype when you get an idea of what its supposed to be but i just have no clue. No man sky is so much different now and i expect they learned from it so i assume it will be solid but wtf are you doing in it?

For some reason I'm getting major Dream World vibes from the trailer. I don't doubt their talent, but the trailer lacks any cohesion. It's this you can do anything, do everything, every genre, last game you'll ever play. I want them to succeed but I'm not sold yet.

I personally would be interested in this just from the point of scenic exploration, but most people probably would not... Let's not forget AAA Studios have problems populating a huge game maps, game surface bigger than Earth will be that much more difficult to make gameplay interesting... so let's expect less and get surprised more

I agree with the skeptical take and honestly personally I’m a little confused what the point of the game is supposed to be as well, we just have to wait and see. With that said, I can also understand those saying they’re going to support the game regardless because of the good will shown over time with No man’s sky despite the epic disaster it was at launch, and there’s something to be said for that level of dedication. In a world where games that don’t succeed are immediately abandoned I can empathize with wanting to support a studio that has proven they’re not like that, but at the same time I still think it’s a bad idea to blindly trust, hype over, and preorder any game especially based off of a 2 min trailer 😭😭😭

Im really surprised they havent hired some kind of PR or spokesperson to speak for Sean. The man is incredibly awkward. It's cute, but the media took advantage of him in a big way. That being said, as others have pointed out, I dont think it's wrong to be hyped about this game because the framework is already there. The biggest challenge will be scoping out having every player exist on one planet. It would only take like 100 players to colonize the entirety of a No Man's Sky planet if they wanted to turn it into Coruscant from Star Wars. So Im interested to see just how massive this planet will be. It will be larger than any No Man's Sky planet for sure. At the end of the day. In Starfield we cant walk around planets. In No Mans Sky, around a 9 year old game now, we can. Bethesda set Hello Games up for all this hype (which also makes me wonder if Hello Games might've released a trailer too soon because they wanted to capitalize on all the bad press.)

To tell you the truth I'm not sure open world with size of Earth is a good idea. Most of us have no idea how big the Earth is, we know the numbers but we've never experience it. Back then traveling between one place to another takes days if not weeks or even months. What if I want to revisit places I had been, should I travel there and how long would that take? real life days?

It is a new game, but not an entirely new engine I would guess it's the same engine they've been working on since no man's sky came out somewhat modified. Personally I feel they will deliver something better than no man's sky on launch in terms of an interesting world. The bit I'd find more of a question is how it will work as an RPG and will it be fun to play as well as interesting to explore. But what gives me faith it will be of great interest is all the experience they have gained and technology they created for procedural generation while working for so long to make noan sky a great game. I agree it's too early to get to hyped but it's very interesting none the less.
