I love this video so so much, the club's loved the fans back then, the fans, the working class, could afford to go at weekend, some great banter at work the following Monday..The terraces and fans actually meant something, and was the 12th man, unfortunately, due to crazy greedy owners, way beyond reality player wages, and transfers, that no player is worth, has made going to a footy match, a thing many of us cannot no longer afford. Look what's happened to my beloved Sky Blues, and many other great club's, that actually made us proud to see our teams play amongst the big boys, and proud to not only be from our cities, which I must say are culturally dying, to being proud Englishman, and women. Why is it today, we have lost what it means to be proud, and to have pride in where we are from. Peace x

peddle I'd settle for a Bolton Wanderers Goal Of The Day at the moment peddle. We've had a rough few years and it's not looking like things are going to be much better next season even though we've got a cracking good manager in Lennon. We desperately need to strengthen the squad but we're too skint to do it right.

@@MrPeterpiper1969 Blimey, been a few years since this comment eh! I'm a United fan from Bolton (don't judge - dad was a huge United fan in the 70s/80s, still is) - went to see Bolton's first game after they were saved from liquidation, the Papa John's Trophy. Went to pens! Great fun trying to put the opposition's takers off. Bolton will be back in the top flight one day. It might take 20 years but they'll be back!

Always remember this with Match of the Day, for goal of the month, with Des Lynham, Jimmy Hill, Alan Hansen and others. Great video and great memories of the best years in football. Too much money now, its too corporate and the players now are a soft bunch of fairies. Proper men, not the quality pitches, tough tackling with plenty of dirty ones thrown into the mix, but these players just got up and got on with it. No play acting rolling around or holding their faces when someone even walks past, no diving, no cheating, they go down to easy and most important of all, no Loyalty! Players used to play for the club, play for the badge with pride and honour.

this always reminds me of going to Carrow Road in the early 90s with my dad as a little boy... every player was amazing and every goal superb... whenever i hear this its 1991 and in 10 again. Gunn, Culverhouse, Bowen, Polston, Fox, Crook, Newman, Phillips, Fleck Sutton.. ☺

stegsify nice comments mate. I think every Norwich fan thinks "What if.." Mike Walker wanted some cash to spend on a striker and the board said no.... 18 months later Sutton was gone and we were a championship club. We finished 3rd in the top flight in 1993 and beat one of the most succesful sides in the world... we should have gone on to BE one of the best teams in the world... Sad thing is we'll never have that chance again...

Lost in the Milky Way, Smile at the empty sky and wait for The moment a million chances may all collide. I'll be the guiding light, Swim to me through stars that shine down, And call to the sleeping world as they fall to Earth. So here's your life, We'll find our way, We're sailing blind, But it's certain nothing's certain. I don't mind, I get the feeling You'll be fine, I still believe That in this world, We've got to find the time... For the life of Riley. From cradles and sleepless nights, You breathe in life forever, And stare at the world from deep under eiderdown. Although this world is a crazy ride, You just take your seat and hold on tight. So here's your life, We'll find our way, We're sailing blind, But it's certain nothing's certain. I don't mind, I get the feeling You'll be fine, I still believe That in this world, We've got to find the time... For the first time...

1:07 - The late Chic Brodie of Brentford. That collision with the dog finished his full-time career, as he fell awkwardly and badly injured himself. Prior to that, he'd had to be carried from the pitch at Carlisle after a fan threw a stone at him: in another match, he was swinging on the crossbar and the goal collapsed on top of him: and a grenade ended up in the back of his net at Millwall. (It turned out to be a dummy.) After the dog collision, he turned out as a part-timer for Margate while working as a taxi driver. He was in goal when Bournemouth beat Margate 11-0 in the first round of the FA Cup. (Ted McDougall got nine of the goals.)

It’s noticeable by its absence that the shirts didn’t have the player’s name emblazoned above the number - soon all this would change and players became ‘personalities’ rather than just one player in a team of 11. Sorry, just the ramblings of an old’un who misses these great days of football.
