One of the things I initially didn't like but came to love about the Percy Jackson series is that instead of encouraging running away into a fantasy world it encourages going to school, Percy doesn't want to be a half blood he rejected immortality to live a normal life with Annabeth and wants to go to college with her in New Rome. But I still love this musical

That's a good thought. I think that before he went to camp half blood, he hated school and thought his life generally sucked. Afterwards, he still felt that way, but it improved. (Remember how he looks at Annabeth's picture in Sea of Monsters, saying he really misses her and Camp Half Blood). Over time he appreciated being able to go to school as opposed to being dead. I don't think this line is inaccurate to Percy in the first book. It would have been inaccurate in the 3rd book and on.

a lot of people really hate on the pjo series because its not as "good" as others like harry potter. but as a kid growing up with severe ADHD and zero friends, it really helped me feel normal. So many things about these books just helped me deal with my ADHD and see it in a healthy way, it made me feel special and cool instead of weird and the main source of my insecurities. I was able to talk about my ADHD and have my peers see it as something that makes me a demigod instead of the weird kid who talks too much. When I have kids I aspire to be like Sally, she is the best mother in fiction. She is so kind, and caring, she would do anything to keep her son safe even giving up her happiness to work hard and some how always keeps her calm even with her stupid abusive husband pushing her buttons.

And not only is she an amazing mother she’s also a great person just to everyone her house really ends up becoming a place for people involved with the gods to show up when things are tough and she’s so incredibly nice to them

Everyone has issues, they're dealing with. [Percy] Mom, if you're weird, you're weak. [Sally] That's where you're wrong. The things that make you different, are the very things that make you strong! So be strong! You'll see, you're destined for great things! [Percy speaking] The only thing I seemed destined for is detention!
