I liked this network my only bugbear was it wasn't intergrated with the Giro card. Finally got a Rio card and travelled round on the VLT, SuperVia Trem Urbano, BRT, Barcas and the Rio bus network. I had better weather when I was there I'm January.

Truly a amazing system! Sadly I never had the chance to ride it, only the Santos light rail

These trains are very similar to the Citadis 302s used on the Jerusalem light rail. They sound exactly identical!

Pretty standard Citadis trams. Several systems in France use them and the Nottingham system has some too.

Build this tramway was a Challenge to Alstom, because it's enterelly wireless. The mayor didn't want to scrap the historic downtown district, specially beteween São Bento and Santos Dumont Airport stops. At final, it's prove to be a big success for Alstom

Nice light rail system in Rio. The rolling stock seems similar to the Tramway Ile-de-France.

Probably are the same, these light trains are French.

I can see that pooling of rain water on parts of the Ground Level Power Supply rail might be a problem -- that thing better be really waterproof. Good thing Rio de Janeiro doesn't get snow and the accompanying road salt.

Thanks for the video. Are there all light rail tracks 3rd railed?

The bell button get some really heavy use here. Never heard a tram having to use the bell this much before. Are the pedestrians that oblivious to the tram?

Our tram will expand from Rodoviária to the newly build Terminal Gentileza. Then there are plans to São Cristóvão and South Zone.
