As a Brit I have always adored these cars . As a kid I used to write to all the big US manufacturers and ask for brochures, the Lincon ones were always my favourite

I love the look of this Lincoln in such a handsome color. The Lincoln Sports Car was an ingenious way to get my interest in a car segment that I normally ignored. The next generation of the LSC was even better. I wouldn't mind owning one of these classic beauties.

I owned one of these, 91 Bill blass. Back in 2003 I started the Lincoln Mark VII Club with none other than Mr. John Dancy (RIP friend). he had 13 mark VIIs, he tried to collect every different type there was, including the bmw turbo diesel '84

I owned a 1985 LSC in white with tan interior. That year still had the electronic speedo and fuel gauge, no air bags or CHMSL. Different wheels, too. I was 29 when I bought it. Pre-owned with 14k miles in 1986. Loved that car!

My Pop had an 88' LSC and Mom has an 87' Versace Edition. Both very comfortable highway cruisers. I'd detail the cars (both!) on nice Saturdays just for the chance to drive them around the block or put gas in them. You could toss the LSC around and break the rear end loose in style and comfort... lol

I loved these cars as a gearhead teenager in the 80's. I remember buying some magazine (maybe called Automobile?) that had an article on them. It had a great photoshoot with some pictures of it doing a burnout on a deserted Wall Street, which I assume were taken very early on a summer morning.
@lancemannion41134 сағат бұрын
I'm old enough to remember when these came out in my teens. I was a hardcore 5.0 Mustang groupie having had an 88 LX 5.0 notchback. I remember Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords (or Cars Illustrated? - I can't remember which magazine) got one of these to test. And I believe with some free hot rod tweaks, such as a timing bump and an air box housing removal, they were able to dip into the 14s. Which was pretty cool considering how heavy that car was (with a slushbox!) but it basically was a fox body Mustang in a tuxedo. Cool cars then and still to this day, although obviously the power is nothing to write home about now!

For my '76 Plymouth Valiant I scoured the junkyards and procured a set of 5 LSC wheels. While I like the lace wheels on this car, I know this style would not look good on an old Mopar sedan. However, the turbine style? Fits really well. Only had to open the center register about 1/8" of an inch and they bolt right on

I can never understand why the blinkers of so many US cars are the inner closest lights to each other next to the grill and not on the outside - like the corners that actually can be seen from other people and would indicate way better the change of the direction
@piggy3104 сағат бұрын
This car in particular has the little headlights that turn on for corner visibility, they would bleed each other out

In Europe they were very rare. I owned one back then. When 9-11 happened I worked for a US company near Amsterdam and they sort of panicked. There was a little parking deck for guests just in front of the entrance and security was scared of carbombs or other attacks the next day. So I used my Lincoln to block access to the parking deck.....

In 1989, it came down to a Mark VII LSC and the new Thunderbird SC. I went with the thunderbird as it was the better handling car and was a bit quicker off the line. In retrospect, I would’ve loved one of these and still love it.
