Biggest projects grow naturaly in deserts all the time.. i think it can work.. and i wish so, becouse use of desert is better than cut forrests and build city.. i like every better use of desert. . China also started wall of trees and fishing industry, and we can see buildings like Burg Khalifa.. in Dubai so why not.. they have no problem with oil money so they can do what ever they imagine... But yeah imagine situation sun storm take down electricity and all these places with pumps bringing watter or cooling systems will be abandoned in weeks.

it would not work no one wants to live in the desert all the time, people die and whoever operating the store or shops might also want to move out from the city - where do you find the replacement?, it’s very costly just to maintain this city in the middle of no where and it would also depend on how committee the government is

What would public opinon be? My opinion is why would anybody care what public opinion (please refer the map for international community on Twitter)? Do what is best for you your community and your environment.

Thing is this project is going to destroy the local ecology of the environment. It's going to be a massive risk for birds and it's going to separate animals and hinder animal migration. On top of that the construction process itself is going to be environmentally bad which is ironic since they're marketing it as an eco-friendly haven.
