I know I'm late to the party but I feel like this never gets noticed: Nala basically saved Simba's life. She repeatedly kick flips him when he is on top her her, in their play fights and the real fight. Then, Scar pulled the same move on him at the end, jumping on top of him; Simba then uses Nala's move, kick flipping him off and over the ledge. Rafiki's words ring true - Simba learned from his past in more ways than one.

OMGosh me too! Im 34 and I remember going to see the Lion King in theater and actually having a crush on Simba. LOL! I thought his voice was so sexy. Plus young simba had my heart as well cause Johnathan Taylor Thomas was the voice and I had a huge crush on him since he was a kid and on up cause he's around my age. Well a couple of years older than me. Then The Lion King 2 came out and Kovu became Simba's rival in sexy lions. Lol! And I absolutely loved the song that Kiara and Kovu sang together. I used to sing it all the time even with no music. I loved that song. Im so lucky to have grown up watching all of these Disney classics when they came to theater. Beauty and the Beast was my top favorite. Then the Lion King, then the Little Mermaid, then Aladdin, then Bambie I even had a crush on the grown up Bambi deer, lol, then Pocahontas. Then Snow White, then Cinderella. I've seen Beauty and the Beast nd the Lion King on Broadway and it is so out of this world mind blowing good it will bring chills to your arms as well as make you cry. Especially the Lion King. The music is so beautiful its almost a spiritual experience hearing those browardway singers belt out the first song as well as the song He lives in you, He lives in me. That song is SO GOOD! I was not the only person crying.

I *love* Scar! Why you asked? He's such a great villain. His voice is sooo nice too which fits the role so well! I always appreciated great villains, especially ones who'd backstab their greatest threat while spreading lies. Like Starscream or Darkstripe from Warrior Cats franchise. They entertain me while on screen, and it's like cheer both for the bad guy to lose and win all at once. Scar DID win. He killed his competitor, lied and got rid of any other threat. But he also failed so I got to have both wishes achieved. Makes for a great story!

Because he reminds me a lot of Scar lol)
@PestilentAllosaurus2 жыл бұрын
@@SaraSong-mw3zm OH! When I mentioned Darkstripe and Starscream it was because I was referring to my favorite villain type. The ones who aren't the strongest physically but are backstabbing and coy. Tigerclaw is a powerhouse of a cat on top of being smart, so Scar doesn't fit him all too much because I could see Tigerclaw first trying to best Mufasa in battle for the crown before going to more sneakier stuff. He wouldn't have hyenas do his dirty work. He'd lead Simba or whoever away to the elephant graveyard and do it himself. Much more scary. Tigerstar is Megatron as Starscream is as Darkstripe. Scar is similar because he doesn't have the brute force to back things up *alone* If that helps? It's why I LOVE villains like them. They have a bigger threat of evil they also need to be careful of.
@alyssabullock64212 жыл бұрын
Darkstripe was an unfortunate let down. I felt like he was pushed to being evil because of Fireheart/Star's accusations and harsh lack of trust. Darkstripe got super fed up with him and felt like he had no choice but to go to Tigerstar's side because he couldn't handle being around Firestar anymore. The moment he poisoned Sorrelkit was his last straw. They just... Let Firestar be right about him. Darkstripe could've been so much better, or at least he could've redeemed himself, but no. He was made a Tigerstar minion who can't let go of his grudge that gets him killed

Fun facts! "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" was actually written in 1939 in Africa and was translated to English and became really popular in the 50's. Lion roars weren't loud enough for what they wanted in this film, so most of these roars are either made by tigers or by a dude named Frank Welker (he's amazing) snarling into a trashcan. Disney actually brought several adult lions into the animating studio so that the animators had live references. Also the comment about Simba being good looking isn't weird at all, watch Lion King 2 and take a look at Kovu and you'll see why a generation of furries was made.

Also your biggest fan from Brasil 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷 LOVE YAA

Its even better. Its Frank Welker screaming with a trash can. This man was the voice of Megatron and for some reason that makes it like 10× funnier to me

The Lion King is my favorite Disney movie and Mufasa was my hero growing up. He’s such a good king, parent, and role model. And tbh I still have so much respect for him.

Characters are often animated to look a bit like the actor who voices them, and Simba is voiced by the handsome Matthew Broderick. It makes sense.

Fun fact: as a child I was sick with lukeimia and was hospitalized and Jonathan Taylor Thomas (young Simba) and Matthew Broderick (grown Simba) they gave us plushies and pictures of them that were signed.... The guy who voiced mufasa was supposed to come to but schedule issues arose!

If you think Simba had a good design here, you need to see Kovu in TLK 2. It's a pretty solid sequel.

Fun fact for you, the song Be Prepared is sang by 2 different people, and it swaps after the line, you wont get a sniff without me, since Jeremy Irons strained his voice after doing it, Jim Cummings the guy who voices Winnie the Pooh finishes it

Fun fact, the Lion King and Pocahontas were made around the same time, and Disney thought Pocahontas would be the big movie, so they had what was essentially their B team working on the Lion King.

Welchy! Good old Welch’s fruit snacks lol. Haven’t even watched the whole vid but just wanted to comment beforehand!

For those who desire to be impressed, Jim Cummings - the voice of Winnie The Pooh - finished off the song “Be Prepared” from everything after the line “YOU WON’T GET A SNIFF WITHOUT ME!” as Jeremy Irons shouted it so loudly that *he tore his voice box* and couldn’t finish the song.

I saw this in the theater when I was around 10ish with my cousin and Aunt. The Circle of Life played and then Boom! Title card. "The Lion King." And my Aunt, joker that she is, went. "Well, that was a great movie." And the entire theater of parents just died laughing. Steak is rare or medium-rare otherwise it's trash. the story behind "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" Is quite sad. should look it up. Also the Lion King 2 is pretty good.

Yeah little teeny Simba probably thought his roar practice that didn't even scare that chameleon somehow started the stampede.

Scar got his scar on the eye from his own father because he was different and not the son his father wanted. Mufasa however was perfect, always in the spotlight. Scar actually should’ve been the next king, but I’m not sure how it went from that, either his father just made mufasa the king or nobody wanted a king with a scar on their face. Sure I don’t support his actions in killing mufasa and then also wanting to kill a kid, his nephew. But he did have a tragic past and I’m sure the scar wasn’t the only thing his father did to him. And while already suffering like that, now that mufasa is king, he continues to suffer. Lives alone in the shadowland, with nothing to eat, only annoying hyenas. Want a life like that? I’m sure you‘ll go crazy as well. Also, scar and serafina (the mother of samba) were in love first, but mufasa took her from him, because by then he was already king and obviously the king gets the girl. Idk what serafina did (like if she went freely and wanted to be with the king or if she like had no choice), but either way, mufasa takes and takes everything from scar. You expect him to be nice then? Killing is brutal, but after such a childhood/young adult life, I’m sure anyone starts to get cold and brutal. Also, i don’t wanted to attack you or anything with this arguments, I’m not trying to justify his actions, but I want to clarify things. Hate scar as much as you want, but he had a pretty rough childhood, so at least he had some reasonable reasons to go against his own family.

Every now and then as new Disney movies come out, I think "do any of these replace The Lion King as my all time favorite?" then we come to 23:45, and it's a hard nope. The entire soundtrack of this movie is perfect and it will forever be my favorite movie...not favorite animated/Disney movie...just favorite movie.
