I completely agree. However she finally beat Nikki. I felt Nikki's routine was too much and I saw clear signs the dog kept messing up but she didn't get docked anything.

@@heidihofkamp666 The only deductions they get in HTM are for barking, if a dog and handler messes up the routine, it just lowers the score in the content portion of the total score

Trip should have won, I was there.. Trip had a standing ovation from many people and when the judges give their scores we all booed nearly half the stadium.

I don't know what the judges look for in heelwork to music. All I know is this little guy brought tears of joy to my eyes; the only other dog who's done that is Rookie. What a charmer!!

This little guy is unbearably cute. I have a dog that makes the same begging gesture with his front paws and I love to see the reaction it gets. I hope Trip remains in good health and able to perform for years to come. Too bad about the deductions!

BARKING SHOULD BE ALLOWED. WE Need to make this happen. Every other competition other than he work you can bark all you want because barking is a happy dog. Flyball-----barking all the way Agility ---- barking Every competition other than heelwork allows barking so ... FREE THE BARK FOR FREESTYLE.

Exactly. Apparently barking is deducted because it's seen as the dog being distracted - with that logic, why isn't barking deducted for flyball or agility? Apparently the dog's distracted if it barks (even though agility's small/medium champion 2024 was barking up a storm in the finals) so it's only fair that all 3 sports deduct for barking. Ridiculous rules honestly

@@Aimee0206 I think it's mainly bc the tricks they are doing in Heelwork are more complex than what they are doing in agility and flyball, so therefore, a barking dog may miss a signal or a queue and thus would have to be re-queued (which means they would lose points in both the content & flow and accuracy portions of their score). There's no barking in obedience either, and HTM is kind've based on obedience at its core bc it's called Heelwork To Music

I thought this I don't know anything specifically about HTM but all others that barked were like 0.5 or lower deductions, 2.0 was awful (only guess is the performance was better than 1st place and the judge didn't like her?)

I WAS SCREAMING WHEN these 2 lost. They need to change that rule about barking because they always make comments throughout the entire craft show about it's a happy dog when it barks as it's bargain through agility It's barking through flyball It's barking through everything. I can understand if for heel work to music, but come on, freestyle should be whatever you want. Was it last year that somebody's actually made their dog bark and it was part of the show and they still got docked on it I mean that's it's ridiculous however I am so impressed I feel so sorry I don't remember her name she stopped it and took her dog that was awesome I was disappointed with the guy during the international agility or you screamed at his dog and the dog froze me and you guys Make sure that you get push push push positive reinforcement and that was unacceptable that guy should have been kicked out or something someone should have happened to that guy on TV so you need to show that's not okay to do that I mean not the dogs fault.
