Fun fact: In early production, it was supposed to be a _suicide._ Kiara tries to get Zira to take her paw so she can help her, Zira looks up at her with an insane grin and whispers "No... _never..."_ and lets go of the ledge, falling to her death. Look it up, there are pencil tests of it on youtube. It's pretty dark and frightening, but I honestly think they should've kept it in. It suited her character morbidly well.

Plot of Hamlet: A prince's father dies right before he's old enough to inherit the throne. His uncle inherits the throne and marries his mother. His father comes back as a ghost to tell him that he was poisoned by the uncle and that his son must kill him. The prince pretends to be going insane, so everyone justifies his actions. He hesitates on a plan to kill his uncle. He makes a play version of his father's murder to check his uncle for guilt to make sure that he surely was the murderer. He accidentally kills his girlfriend's father. His uncle sends him on a ship with a note for another king to execute him as a personal favor. The prince escapes with pirates. He returns home and learns that his girlfriend committed suicide. He tells everyone that his madness has been cured and morns his girlfriend's death. His girlfriend's brother arranges a fencing match with him. He and the uncle remove the cap from his sword and dip it in poison, so if the prince get scratched, he'll die and prepare a poisoned victory wine for the prince in case he wins the match without a scratch. The queen drinks the victory cup after seeing her son doing well. The prince, his girlfriend's brother, and his uncle all get scratched by the sword. Everyone dies and a prince from another kingdom takes over the entire kingdom.

And 1 and 1/2 is kind of Rosencratz and Gildenstern are Dead - two minor background characters of Hamlet running around behind the scenes oblivious to the main plot proceeding behind them while they break the fourth wall, but not dying because Disney. @@Nightman221k If Mustafa had any mistakes (and this is pushing it, I think) it was that he was too trusting. He was too trusting of Scar, who stabbed him in the back, and too trusting of Simba, who went and almost got himself killed. It'd make sense for Simba, looking back, to be a little less trusting, whether it was of the former allies of Scar, or of his own child's decision making skills.
@fightingfaerie4 жыл бұрын
Its because Zira killed his first child, Kopa, the baby you see at the end of The Lion King. The Zira part is all fan theory, but there was a cub named Kopa that was originally supposed to be Simba and Nala's first child. There were 6 books released that were about Kopa growing up and establishing backstory and lore for the Lion King. But they technically got retconned when Lion King 2 was released and they decided Kiara was supposed to be the baby at the end of LK1. Even though the scenes are different and the cubs look different, as well as Simba and Nala looking older in LK2.

Amber Leigh Well, it is still a straight to dvd sequel let’s not get ahead of our selfs, but it is pretty good. I’m so happy that they actually gave the Prince Charming, and Cinderella personalities. And the story is really creative, I mean who had the idea to put time travel into the Cinderella canon!

I remember when I was in school my friends wouldn't believe me when I told them there was a Lion King 1 1/2. No one else had seen it; it was like the film where Timon and Pumba watch what they were doing offscreen during the original and then all the other Disney character silhouettes show up at the end to rewatch the movie, was a mere figment of my imagination. And I fell into the former category, when I watched it as a kid.

Lion King 2 has a lot going on for it. Let me explain why it fits so well with TK1. Simba had an original son named Kopa and Zira killed Kopa which led to her and the outlanders banishment. He is protective over Kiara for this reason and doesn’t want to lose her as well. Zira was one of Scar’s most loyal followers and not only being more of like a mate figure but someone obsessed with him. Zira had two cubs Vitani and Nuka. After Scar saw how weak Nuka was and then a girl cub was born he found it upon himself to steal someone else’s cub who he felt like was strong enough to be his heir. Zira raised Kovu as her own because Kovu was the chosen one. This led to most of the events in TLK2 and how Nuka wanted his mom’s attention and hated Kovu throughout the whole movie. The end with the outlanders realizing they are one of them... it’s kind of like they are us... they are no different let’s give them a chance ...... Zira brainwashed so many followers similar to how Scar did.... and anyways THAT is why I’ll always love TLK2 because the actual TLK story does tie into everything quite well and it follows Romeo and Juliet when the first film followed Hamlet.
@DeerieMee4 жыл бұрын
Man, if only they spent time explaining this during the movie. Would have been longer but I would soooooo watch a longer version. TLK2 was always my favourite song wise, TLK1 has iconic amazing songs but damn the sequel ones hit different

Kopa part is fan theory not real proves it happend. Yes there is book where is Kopa, but no proves Zira killed him. Later disney just replace Kopa with Kion who is almost same age with kiara and other cubs of lion guard serie .

@zephyr36934 жыл бұрын
I love this story but this is a fan theory, not cannon. Kopa is not a cannon Disney character, he was written into a series of kids books like 20 years but the guy who wrote the stories wasn’t writing cannon for Disney. He had permission to write the stories but he wasn’t working for Disney so all the characters he made up for his story are not official Disney characters. I still enjoy the fan stories about Kopa though, they’re very creative and fun. But just in case anyone wondered why Kopa wasn’t mentioned in the movies that’s why.

to be fair, the lion king two sort of has a better basis than the first one. not better writing, but i mean the sequel was based off of romeo and juliet, arguably shakespeare's best and most quoted work, when compared to hamlet, a play that is alright but a good portion of it has not aged well
@elizatoponce93754 жыл бұрын
Romeo and Juliet may be good, but I feel like the point of the story is often missed when it’s used in modern movies. The whole idea is that their love was destructive, and only ended up causing pain. Not many movies based on Romeo and Juliet get that correct, and they focus more on ‘ooh the can’t be together how angsty, oh their so in love.’ It just doesn’t work as well as the play itself.

They're all just so interesting and I love how their relationship to Scar was left open, we don't know who zira was to scar or why the outlanders still chose to follow him and be banished, all we know is that somehow scar had chosen kovu to act as his heir. I know the story was based around Romeo and Juliet, but zira gave me lots of Morgana le fey vibes with her raising her children as instruments in her revenge against simba.

So is Simba and Nala, if you think about it, there were only two male lions, like in a real-life lion pride. She must have been born from Mufasa or from Scar. They are from the same father. Meaning they are half “SIBLINGS” because they have the same father but different mother.
@danielmorais87544 жыл бұрын
In real life all female lioness are sisters and the male are from a different pride. You see in real life, when the lions are born the males will live in the pride into they are around two years old. Then they will be kicked out of the pride by the male. When they are kicked out they will try to find another pride and kill the male lion, if he succeeds on killing the leader or making him run away. The new leader will then “KILL ALL THE CUBS” so the new cubs will have his DNA, and so on it goes. The think is they know what incest is that’s why they live the pride so they don’t mate with their cousins and sisters.
