I was in tears with the majesty of the whole thing. I married him a few years later, but Covid took him from me at the beginning of this year. Watching this performance brings back so many beautiful memories. I am in tears again, thank you

Endless Night is my favorite song of the whole musical, and it’s impossible to surpass Jason Raize, but this man sounded beautiful. He did the song justice. Particularly “I know the sun will rise” part.

I've been listening to tiny desk with my son since he was 1 days old. Now he's almost 2 and no matter what song is playing he claps afterwards, which is believe he got from tiny desk concerts. I just watched Lion King with him for the first time this week, and now this comes out! He was so stoked to see it. Thank you for these concerts NPR! They have a real impact on people. Please get Raffi on here!

You can see the awe in the bands faces when she starts singing. If you never been in a room with Afrikans singing live, its a very powerful experience. Its more than talent and passion, we sing loud and expressive for our voices to be heard and for our ancestors who didnt get the chance to. Its more than art, its community and culture all packed into one
