In my opinion, I am not a fan of when they make live-action movies and put famous peoples voice as a characters voice. Like Beyonce as Nala for example, when Nala sings you dont see it as Nala singing, you picture Beyonce, its the same with her voice aswell. You cant see the character as herself and I feel its taking away from Nala. But thats just my opinion. *Nothing against Beyonce but in my opinion, It just takes away from the character being herself*

Yeah, adult Nala just sounds so bad to me. If she kept her cub voice actress maybe it would be better.
@Altronn5 жыл бұрын
I don't think that's always the case, I think it depends on the quality of the voice acting, like how Gerard Butler was fantastic as Stoic in the How to Train Your Dragon movies. I really think it has to do with the actor's voice and their ability to separate it from themselves. Most famous singers for example don't really voice act, they just talk normally which makes their voice acting come across as weak.

wow I took the scene of Scar and Sarabi completely different. To me it had nothing to do with a "love interest", it was just Scar trying to take the last bit of control that Mufasa once had and he didn't. The lionesses weren't really following him, they followed Sarabi who used to be Mufasa's mate, so Scar trying to get Sarabi to give in to him and become his mate was because that would be the last win he needed against Mufasa and the last bit of control he was lacking. To me that scene was all about power and not at all about an actual love interesting, so that scene made a lot of sense to me.
@VivaJayne5 жыл бұрын

mocochang I think they tried to bring more of Hamlet (the inspiration for Lion King) out with Scar and Sarabi, but it didn’t pay off as they wanted. But early on in the movie, Scar tells Mufasa he did not intend to offend them “especially the Queen, I have great regard for the Queen” by not showing up to Simba’s presentation. So I think he loved her and originally challenged Mufasa, not only for her but to be King of Pride Rock. I do agree that it was a power move when Scar became queen, but it was also (at least I felt like) a bit like, “Look I am now as powerful as Mufasa was, why don’t you like me now”

My annoyances: Be Prepared. So underwhelming. Rafiki's stick didn't have that fruit thing on It (I don't think) Not only the line "Lions attack" but how underwhelming it felt to me Rafiki's face in general? Like Idk if that's how babboons actually look but it was WEIRD I didn't like Scar's voice. It didn't fit him. Also Scar's appearance in general wasn't doing it for me All the female lions look THE SAME. I could not tell who was who at points. There were small differentiating factors but they need to be more noticeable The emotions on the characters was not enough for me. Like was said in the video, it's possible to give animals emotions I was waiting for Mufasa to appear in the sky and he just didn't. I feel like there was a way to do that. The battle should've been even more dramatic. I know Scar and Simba fighting is the main event, but the rest of the fight should've had more weight

My dad would always tease me with that line since it's his favourite to quote. Sorry, don't get me wrong, I can see why it would enjoyable but overall. Just meh. The SOUNDTRACK on the other hand. Nothing will replace the original "Can you feel the love tonight?" and "Spirits" was just... doesn't fit well. Hakuna Matata was annoying me in this for some reason. The new Be Prepared SHOULD HAVE BEEN LONGER! That dark tone actually fit this narrative but the problem is that it was so short. But I can still listen to it and enjoy it. The original soundtrack, the themes (not songs), was just sooo much more ethereal. I enjoyed them, except the new drum war version of the battle between Scar and Simba. I prefer the original.

I can't stand when they hint at things without going all in with them. They hinted that Scar previously challenged Mufasa for the throne and lost. "I wouldn't dream of challenging you. Again." And, as you mentioned, a possible love triangle with Sarabi, Mufasa and Scar where Sarabi ultimately chose Mufasa. Why hint at things at all if you aren't going to go anywhere with it? Maybe Scar got his scar (and his nickname) from his losing challenge to Mufasa? Maybe Sarabi and Scar had a relationship that fell apart because he refused to accept his title of prince and instead became obsessed with becoming king? Perhaps make Sarabi suspicious of Scar's claim that Mufasa and Simba's deaths were just a freak accident so she continues to reject him?

While realism is appreciated in certain stories, the imagination and creativity of the original helped certain moments feel more epic then if the animals just acted like animals all the time. For example the emotions of the characters feel more real in the original cause the faces looked more expressive, while the remake the look dead faced half the time. Or how in songs like Be Prepared or I Just Can’t wait to be King the realism doesn’t allow for much creativity in the visuals and it feels less fun

The visuals were absolutely breathtaking. That’s basically what I thought was better. You didn’t discuss one of the most disappointing things for me. The scene where Simba is hanging from pride rock and Scar whispers that he killed Mufasa, in the animated one Simba like jumps up with rage and yells ”murderer” but in this one he just like bites Scar’s mane and pulls himself up. It was so underwhelming, and there were lots of moments like that where I was like, you have more creative liberties when something is animated and therefore not fit to be live action. So it was good, cause it’s basically a carbon copy of the original (which literally everyone loves) and they knew, I mean surely they knew that you cant make it as good or better than the original so why even try. And that’s what I felt leaving the theatre. That this was utterly unnecessary.
@matthewbennett99285 жыл бұрын
But people would be mad if they changed it so it's loose loose situation no body will be happy bo matter what because people like to be angry and the movie is not a carbon copy it's more different than people realize so when the DVD comes out I hope they prove that. To me its was more powerful because it was photo real and I was moved by the whole thing. The point is to bring it to a new generation. This all my opinion for trying to troll or hate on you. Peace
