I'm currently playing DA:I and am romancing Cullen. I can't believe I've never stumbled across this song before. It's perfect. It fits Cullen to a T. I am deeply touched by this song and the mediaeval feel it gives. Cullen is one of my favourite fictional characters and the romance with him is one of my favourite fictional romances I know. He and his arc are very touching and it means so much to me to be able to finally give him the happy end he deserves.

I like to imagine that my Lavellan made this song for his Birthday and sing it to him in her bedroom and Cullen got the flashbacks and started crying showing her his true face with painful past and lost.. I wonder how the Hero would react seeing Cullen now, considering he used to be her Templar (and love interest at the circle) and that the last time she saw him the demons had him captive and were torturing him with visions of her death. He didn’t even want to talk to her then afterwards. She probably thought he was broken forever. He’s sooo much healthier now. I bet she’d be proud of him.

This is an absolutely amazing song, I almost cried the first time I heard it, and that's saying something since I don't cry over anything. It makes you really feel and fall for Cullen so much harder, he was my first romance and ever since he has been the only one in my Inquisitor's heart. The meaning behind the lyrics also suit Cullen so well with everything he has been through and shows that all we can do is push on and continue to have hope that the dawn will come. Cullen is such an amazing and lovable character, with his willingness to fight his lyrium addiction, wrestle with all the trauma from the 5th Blight and Kirkwall, and even what the Chantry itself did to him. He never gave up hope and he has been strong through it all, he never gave up on the Maker and still shows his love for Him and how everything has made him a stronger and more caring man. Cullen is and will always be the man of my Inquisitor's dreams, to have a man like Cullen who is caring and accepting even though she is so radically different and seen as an outcast wherever she goes.

His writers did such a good job on his story and character (as with most of the characters in the DA universe, but I digress...) that he comes across as so incredibly “real”. Beautiful song, Not only does it remind me of my favourite character in DAI (and cough the DA Cullen mods - Mage tower romance and party addition on Nexus), but also deals well with his PTSD. I love Cullen. He did things not everyone has the will to do. I always believed that if Cullen could still command an army while dealing with withdrawal because he had to, he wanted to. I hoped my dad would've at least tried to have that will and save my family, but he didn't. Cullen holds a place in my heart because he tried. Trying matters more than anything because it'll get someone away from where they were. I only wish more people would try.
