Sleep Token is a band truly not bound by genre. Metal, ambient, jazz, pop, r&b, d&b, rock, they mix and match not only from song to song but as you hear in The Summoning, within songs. They build on each other through the course of an album, as well as each album building in succession. I’d say start at the beginning of this album as see how it goes after a few songs.

The figure you see in the video is simply a 3d version of the art covers for the songs in the "Take me back to Eden" Album Some say it has meanings though, I'd like to believe it. Vessel also indirectly talks to the audience with the interludes in his live shows. How he wouldn't be really known without his mask, And that his identity serves as a projection for people to be able to relate to him

Glad you like it. It's trully an experience. Every song of theirs. Go down the rabbit hole and see for yourself :) As a 37 year old man, multi-genre enthusiast, I can say that nothing resonated with me this strong as Sleep Token. They are above unique, the style, the lyrics, the musitianship, the lore, check that out if you can, it deepens the understanding of their lyrics but also draws conclusions to certain musical elements being the way they are. Most exciting thing is they have their own reasioning behind the lyrics, but they "let" the listener to interpret their own way, so everybody can find some resonance with their own intepretations. Next up - Alkaline, Take me back to Eden, Rain, High Water, Ascencionism, The Apparition... Or just go one by one from the albums, they don't have a "bad song" trust me. Stay good 🤙

Greetings from the UK. I enjoyed your reaction. Subscribed. How to explain the character in the video? Firstly, this song is from their 3rd album which is the conclusion of a trilogy of albums. For their first album, Sundowning, each song had its own sigil (a combination of runes). For their second album, This Place Will Become Your Tomb, each song had an oceanic depth measurement that got deeper with each subsequent song and a corresponding sea creature that lives at each depth. Finally, for the third album, Take Me Back To Eden, each song has a unique character depicting various guardians of Eden. Hope this info is useful. As for other songs, try Chokehold or Take Me Back To Eden next, and then if you are still liking what you're hearing, go back to the very beginning and do their whole discography in order, as they are telling a story throughout. I would suggest reacting to Take Me Back to Eden, Alkaline, Chokehold and perhaps Vore. (Vore is one of their heaviest on the new album). I’m over 50 years old and I started listening to ST almost 2 years ago and it’s been very difficult to listen to any other band. Their music never gets old for me. I’m always finding new notes or underlying harmonies I didn’t hear before when I go back and listen to song I haven’t heard in awhile. There definitely is a lot of depth in their music.

I would say the closest thing to sleep token in the past would have been Pink Floyd in the fact that every song is a new experience. Truly a wonderful band and if you get the chance to react to take me back to Eden you will see a broad spectrum of their talent

I would say start from at the least The Night Does Not Belong to God on the first album Sundowning, as they play as a trilogy telling the story about a toxic relationship between Vessel (the lead singer) and the deity Sleep. Whatever you do please do not listen to Euclid until the very end as to hear that song without the context of what came before really takes away from the song. Don't get me wrong Euclid is still an amazing song just as a one off but the emotion you will feel if you leave it until the end will truly blow you away. The EP's are a great listen but could be considered more of a bonus listen once you have finished the core trilogy. If you only wanted to react to a few songs I'd say Take me Back to Eden, Ascenionism, Chokehold, Rain, Atlantic, The Love you Want, Higher, Alkaline, Dark Signs, Hypnosis, Blood Sport (from the room below version) and the Offering are all great choices. Here for the ride whichever route you choose. Worship!

Vessel- was visited in a dream by an ancient deity" that he refers to as Sleep" due to its actual name being impossible to pronounce by modern humans. Sleep" has always existed and is responsible for giving humans dreams and nightmares. Sleep" promised Vessel- glory and magnificence if he followed him/her. Sleep" gives Vessel- dreams and visions, both beautiful and glorious as well as horrific nightmares. All of the songs deal with Vessel's- struggle with this toxic relationship with this deity" that he can only access in his dreams. The songs can also be interpreted as a toxic relationship that Vessel- had with a past partner and all of the fallout from this traumatic experience. Its entirely your discretion how you interpret the songs.
