+Oliviaaa Katherinaa I've played the trumpet for more than ten years now, but I've always been asking myself: How do you know how far you have to move the trombone's slide in or out to play certain notes..? :)
@57Easteregg9 жыл бұрын
+Matthias Köhler I'm at the start of my fourth year of playing trombone, and it really has come down to muscle memory. Once you see the music, and know what positions the notes are in, moving the slide in and out is as simple as wiggling your finger. I have never touched a trumpet in my life, but I can assume that the positions on the trumpet and how to know which fingers you put down is similar in many aspects.

Christopher Bill, words fail to describe your illustrious virtuosity; you are surrealistically phenomenal. You have a well-controlled sound-voice and excellent tone. Your engineering skills are also great. Hope the 'Smooth Jazz' channels can air your phenomenal endeavors, and that you may be given an opportunity by a reputable producer or musical scout, especially as a lead solo trombonist - not merely a section player or 'backing-up'/accompanying cast artist. Clive Davis of Arista Records is the man. He can make financially successful bread out of even the most impenetrable stone. Ask it of Kenny G! Hard work and preparedness encounter well-merited opportunity. Voila the resulting effects - fame and fortune; success in totality. Many years ago, Buddy Morrow, Kai Winding, Curtis Fuller, JJ Johnson, Bobby Brookemeyer (sp), Urbie Green ...did some Smooth Pop Jazz songs - away from their real Jazz trombone thing. We definitely need some Smooth Jazz Pop trombone works anew; you are the man. Some Smooth Jazz Trumpeters who are constantly enjoying air/radio play are Christopher Botti, Rick Braun, Adam Wilson, Tom Brown and Dominick Farrenacci - but we crave fresh lead Pop/R'n'B solo trombonists. Christopher, how about presenting: "Sealed With A Kiss" by Bryan Hyland (sp) or by Jason Donovan? This is an old love ballad we all have heard and enjoyed. You can recreate and revitalize it for the world, and me - if you so desire and time does permit. Keep it up, Mon Ami!

Hey Christopher that was amazing. My son is just learning trombone - he’s a drummer and sax player until now - and he showed me this. Glad he did. Wonder if you have a video in your channel where you discuss your looping technique. I loop synths and guitars thru a pedal, but I read you use a Push (and Ableton Live I take it). I notice you are managing to really bring in and out different phases of the loop and wondered how you are able to do that with Push/Live. It’s really cool and stops the loop from being repetitive. Awesome job
