yeah i think that's just a bass trombone with a heavy mouthpiece, to get that powerful sound. you can't really do that with a lighter mouthpiece. i had no idea till recently how much the mouthpiece affects the sound.

1:05 is it just me, or the way she plays that first verse is absolute heaven with that tone and articulation: hit me in the feels. I think I'm in love, y'all. And then the trade off at 3:03 with them ending with the harmony was pretty flawlessly matched with tone and style to/with one another.
