#boltaction #battlereport #cinematic Normandy, France, 1944: On the afternoon of June 10th Colonel R. Cole and the men of the 502nd Airborne Parachute Infantry Regiment executed a spectacularly brave bayonet charge against dug-in Fällschirmjager of the 6th Parachute Regiment at Ingouf Farm.
This cinematic battle report commemorates that incredible battle on its 80th anniversary. Capture of this farm was critical to the Allied efforts to consolidate the beach heads of Utah and Omaha in the town of Carentan. Ingouf farm was the gateway to Carentan - Taking the farm would allow the Allies to assault the town. FJ6, the Lions of Carentan, would ensure that taking either would be a costly proposal. A formidable enemy indeed!

Correction: during the video the 6th Fallschirmjäger Regiment are introduced as the 6th Fallschirmjäger Division. This is incorrect as there's quite a bit of a difference between a regiment and a division, which is typically made up of 3 regiments. Derp!

Yeah that was a raw deal for the Germans. One of the reasons I rarely add an air observer to my lists.
