This video so far has 209 thumbs up and one thumbs down, so Don Henley must have dropped by. 😃 Unlike Michael, I've never been a fan of The Eagles, although I respect their songwritinand talent 100%, except for the recent live shows, that is. Front row to watch the Eagles lip-sync, woo hoo!! The Las Vegas sphere is cool but to Las Vegas for real rock and roll. As I stated in the previous comment of the first video on this Eagles question. I'm a fan too, to me the original Eagles were the best band line -up, The 'Desperado' Album is their masterpiece in my estimation(sorry Joe, Timmy and Don F.)But! Henley and the late Frey forgot where they came from, and let it go to their heads. This caused the problems that lead Meisner and Leadon exits from the band and eventually Felder as well. And now the final humiliation on the bands legacy through Don Henley's leadership or should I say lack of leadership and more of his own personal Egotist thinking. It would be one thing carrying on the Eagles Legacy with family members, friends and hired guns, BUT!!! LIP SYNCING!?! IN CONCERT!?! AND AT THOSE PRICES??? If it was up to me, and it's not unfortunately, if it was I'd partition the RRHOF to first have an ASTRIX * put next to Henley's name explaining why this ASTRIX was put there for Lip Syncing in concert, a very 'cardinal sin in music'(anyone remember 'Millie Vanillie'?, But that's a different story) Plus Henley should be barred from any RRHOF activities and attendance, Period. Gone are the days of seeing banda for 10 dollars. I remember my first concert in January of 1977 . Queen and Thin Lizzy double bill . I paid 7 dollars to see both these bands on the same night. As far as meeting a certain artist, I met B.B. King while I worked stage security for his show. As I walked with him to his tour bus he shook my hand and signed an 8x10 black and white picture for me. Random rock star encounter. I went to a close by town grabbed a hotel room when I went to see Paul Rogers. After I checked in I got on the elevator the next couple of guys stepped on and it was Paul Rogers and his band mate. I said hi im really looking forward to your show tonight. The next morning I'm checking out the elevator opens up and Paul Rogers was on it. I told him I really enjoyed his show last night. He acknowledged me and said thanks your the bloke I was talking to yesterday.. Personal note. I would never pay that much money for a cover band.

At the VERY LEAST they, (and any other act), should be forced disclose that they use backing tracks and lip synching while performing "live." Who knew that Milli Vanilli would be such trend setters? I fully admit I got spoiled by seeing tons of great bands, many for less that $10 a ticket. (Yes, I'm that old.) But one ameliorating factor I can grant on high ticket prices is that bands just cannot make a living off record sales any more. That doesn't necessarily justify tickets in four figures, but it's sad what has happened with album sales now that people think music should just be free.

Not sure I have ever heard more HONEST and CANDID comments regarding not only The Eagles (and Don Henley) but also the "classic rock" bands that I still listen to but haven't desired to see live in over 40 years now. It seems that most are just after the $ and are making fools of themselves (i.e., balding, weight-gain, vocal deterioration, etc.) by continuing to tour/have residency in Vegas/concerts. Of course, I'm probably guilty myself of trying to recapture "my youth" in some ways because I still enjoy listening to their stuff, playing air guitar/drums, and drinking Scotch/Bourbon while imagining those days. But it's different, is it not, to still enjoy the music and realizing that you're just too old and irrelevant to get up in front of an audience and try to grab the mist of the past? Difficult for me to understand the continuing efforts of Robert Plant, Paul McCartney, Don Henley, David Gilmour, Roger Waters, etc., than to just think that they are applause/adoration junkies and this is coming from someone who absolutely idolized their music/talent. Perhaps they have a counter argument but it is difficult for me to understand. Sometimes it just may be best to realize you did your best and take comfort/pride that you provided so much pleasure/joy and, at times, pure ecstasy. There may be need for an adult in the room to just say, "STOP."

I was lucky enough to get tickets on the day of a solo tour 21st anniversary. I typed a letter to Henley. It was our anniversary and provided the seating chart. I gave it to one of the stagehand to give to Henley. I was literally 5 feet from him. 45 minutes later, the show started he comes out members of the band seem to be on eggshells around him. He seemed to have a grimace on his face as if he just punched the time clock. at any point when the song started playing there were really good we got up and we started dancing. Henley initially told us to stay in our seats. we thought he was kidding the song all she wants to do is dance dance. We got up and started dancing after the song he scolded us and told us if we didn’t stay in our seats we were gonna have to leave. so we didn’t give him the privilege we on our own and before we found somebody that was in the nosebleeds and gave them our tickets front row center stage. The original Eagles, very good starting in the beginning with Randy,Glenn,Bernie and later Don Felder,Joe Walsh, Henley destroyed a super band because his behavior. All the members, once have said persomally, he wasn't a nice man. He made problems all over. He has a bad name.

I prefer the Glen Frey-led songs, and those by the other musicians on lead vocals. Among my favorites are: "Outlaw Man", their version of "Old 55", "Tequila Sunrise", "New Kid In Town", and "In The City", starring Joe Walsh.
