Garage this. Think the woke BBC are on an overcorrection trip here to correct the situations where very average and sometimes very old male actors were paired up with beautiful younger women. In this case it's a very average looking women paired with a man who clearly wouldn't entertain her as he'd be pulling attention from more beautiful women. Guess that makes this fantasy tv for women, rather than it always being fantasy tv for men as it was in the past. Only reservation on that is the faithfulness to the original novel as intended by the author. But perhaps that's not important in an 'adaptation'. Certainly has Killing Eve vibes which i also thought a lot of old tosh. I understand overcorrections but feel those in TV should be aware of the pitfalls.
