I have so many memories of LHOTP and it was my favorite show. Melissa Gilbert has always been a favorite actress of mine. I didn’t realize all she went through as a child actress. Thank you to everyone on LHOTP. Its a classic show with great actors. I love u Melissa Gilbert. So happy for you and your husband TB, another fine actor.

Omgosh, I can relate! I was 13, and 2 months before turning 14. My first kiss was also embarrassing. I had a big crush on my brothers best friend. It was his birthday, I don't remember if he was 15 or 16,.but right in front of my older brother, and my best friend, he asked me if I was going to give him a birthday kiss. Well, I did,. with my brother standing about a foot away. After that passionate kiss I lost my balance and stumbled, and almost fell over. I smile now when I look back on it. I'm happy it was an unforgettable moment, like Melissa's was. That was October of 1964.

I was sixteen when I had my first kiss. I know exactly how Melissa felt. Of course I didn't do it on screen but I was scared to death none the less. My boyfriend was also five years older than me and he also became my husband. I remind him from time to time that he was the only one l ever kissed. He also knows that I saved "everything else" for the man I married. We've been married for 35 years. I thank the Lord for him all the time.

What a beautiful, touching comment! I was 18....I admit. I was introverted & heck. I didn't get "romantic" until years, years later. Now everyone has different lives & experiences; but I'm so grateful to have the great, loving childhood I had. I was blessed-no abuse of any type. That's why it tears my soul up when I hear of innocent children and babies being hurt for no good reason. I'm sorry to go off in a negative light, but it's the truth. Someone mentioned it before....as far as t.v., books, movies out there recently, it's simply trash. Create your own GOOD reality.

I love Little house on The Prairie. I love Laura and Charles, especially. Melissa, Michael and other spectacular actors of the series, have been blessed ones to create the series. They made visible something that is so precious and God given Grace. Melissa as Laura, played herself, obviously. One cannot give what one has not got. Melissa has like Michael, such beauty and Grace in their hearts. And that sensitivity and spectrum of acting! I love you, for ever. You are blessed. I am watching the series again and again. I am Melissa´s age. Watching an episode a day is like a prayer to me. I get cleansed, purified and empowered in my chosen way to live my life. What a blessed human being Michael Landon was to create something like this which lives for ever in peoples´hearts. Of course, Karen Grassle and other crew members are all equally blessed and wonderful. Karen set an example to many, her compassion and wisdom playing mother Ingalls.

It's funny that I'm reading the books right now and Big Brother must be watching me because this pops up in my suggested videos when this is the place in the books I happen to be reading. The Golden Years where Almanzo is pursuing Laura, but she's unaware of his affections. The kiss...

Her first kiss was with an actor on Little House years prior to the kiss with Butler. It was a tame kiss but still a kiss. I don't know his name but the episode was about her crushing over him and her desire to be a grown woman. She ends up placing apples in the bodice of her dress which hilariously fall to the floor when she lifts her arm to write on the chalk board. This must have been her second kiss, ? so her mom missed out over crying about the 1st.

@Mr.EmeraldTheGreen4 жыл бұрын
Star Anna No,,,,he called her BETH. In the first episode of the sixth season, “ Back To School” Laura is on foot when Almanzo comes by and offers her a lift, she apologizes for calling him Manly, and he says it’s totally fine then offers to give her a nickname. He asks her what her full given name is, she answers Laura Elizabeth Ingalls.....and he says “How about BETH?” And she loves it! Later in part 2 Of Back To School at the dinner table she asks Pa to call her Laura or BETH when in the company of others.
@ravenel24 жыл бұрын
He called her Bess in real life. But Bess was too old-fashioned and stodgy for television in the 1970s and 1980s, so on TV, they changed it to Beth, which was trendier. There were still plenty of teenage Beths and Lauras in the 80s. Not as trendy as Jennifer or Nicole, but still common enough to be totally normal, without sounding like someone’s Victorian grandmother. You just didn’t know anyone named Bess who was under 80 (or not a horse.) It was like Ethel or Mabel. Sorry if anyone named Bess reads this!
