its only 5 days before shadow of the erdtree but i have been wanting to get this theory to content creators and really just out there in the community cause i stand by it and love that i think its basis in native american mythology is not only nice in regards to seeing NEW mythology bases being drawn from but also myself am over half alaskan native with my mother being full alaskan native. also heres a quick warning that a this is by and large a copy pasta cause its A LOT and i feel this version of it makes the most sense by and large at least so if there are small things that feel like they aint making sense, its probably because i took this comment from one i made on a different video. Ok so heres gonna be a bit of a long rant but i wanna tell you some theories i have about the ancestral followers, the hornsent, and even the omen as well as the mythological basis for the divine beasts and what MAJOR implications that can have for the lore. you seem to like less orthadox but well founded theories like the tarnished being a demigod which i agree with 100% actually and think all tarnished are either the children of godfrey and marika or are descendants of godfrey and thus, still demigods. the first thing i wanna get into as it sets a basis for a lot of things is the nature of horns and their connection to the primordial crucible all life supposedly once came from. This portion starts by me pointing out a STRONG connection to spirits and spirit summoning by ALL with horns from the ancestror and regal ancestor spirit to the ancestral followers to the omen who summon wraiths which is most of the worlds mythology are angry or tormented spirits and the hornsent who in pressumably their town in the bellum tower legacy dungeon we see in the 3 hour gameplay reveal done with the content creators, they seem to ALL be getting brought back as the same sort of phatom white spirits we can find around the lands bewteen and this was interesting to me as the main thing that made marika considered a god was the fact that she had control over life and death and the rebirth into new life through erdtree burials allowing for spirit summoning and so when all others with horns like those we find in the lands of shadows where all things started even before the erdtrees birth, it implies she sought a method to take control away from the hornsent whose horns as we see in the budding horn description, 'were once seen as divine' so she could ascend to the title of god and take control of all things including prevent herself from being able to die and being able to be eternal through the elden ring having the rune of death removed. That was a long run on sentance so i already apologize but adhd and dyslexisa makes realizing that stuff hard so ill do better with these next parts. As for this next theory, the divine beast dancers are based on the thunderbird mythology that many different native american groups hold. Ill start by pasting this in and while its a wiki post, there aint much better thats as succinct and clear in regards to the relation between the divine beasts and thunderbirds en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunderbird_(mythology) Now to start digging into thisthe thunderbirds were MASSIVE birds of whom the flaps of their wings would make the storms in the skies and they were often said to be the messengers of the divine with the most intersting version states they are the messengers of the 'great sun' and to make it clear why this matters, heres a post from reddit showing the link between the land of shadows and the seat of the sun www.reddit.com/r/EldenRingLoreTalk/comments/1cuau8g/wait_is_this_the_sun_realm/ with if this post is true, it makes the link between divine beast and thunderbirds a guarantee if ya ask me nevermind how vaatividya mentioned an item description regarding the divine beast that stated its rage mirrored the tumlat of the skies and that it was the heaventsent messnger of the pinnacle of the storm. The last things i wanna mention here in this section would be that they were also created to be the judges of those mortals who commited moral wrongdoings which in vaatividyas 3 hour gameplay, supposedly the old shaman woman like the finger reader crones commands it to punish us tarnished and bring vengance for what those of the golden order did to the hornsent, to combat the 'underwater spirits' which seems pretty clearcut when godywn who likely will make an appearance in this dlc is literally a mermaid thing and pretty much everyone hates the deathblight for good reason, and most interestingly and what will lead into the next theories is that they also were made to combat the 'great horned serpents' who intended to DEVOUR ALL HUMANITY.... given we see them fighting messmer and no snake in elden ring has horns, we can invert this especially when we look at rykard to make them GOD devouring serpents as gods often are the opposite of humans in storytelling and mythology and if we consider the horns of the honrsent being divine in nature making the hornsent akin to gods, this becomes REALLY interesting... Now onto the next theory straight off the back of the last being about a story about a young boy finding 4 young thunderbirds whose mother tells the boy to protect them from the two headed serpent that would come out of the lake with the boy befriended the thunderbirds and a two headed serpent with while i dont know the end, i could assume what would likely happen given he befriends the two headed serpent and how it probably is a tale to trust the words of your elders and not the words of strangers. i would imagine this could even imply that messmer was the ally of the hornsent and divine beasts until the land of shadows was locked away with we see THREE impaled divine beast dancers who had ended up attacking messmer and we ourselves end up finding and killing the fourth with messmer also either having or even having been eatten by and become the two headed serpent with perhaps the two headed snake ate the divinity it could find and when they could find no more divinity, it could have perhaps turned on messmer and ate him and his divinity with the god devouring serpent which seeks to devour all gods and that ate rykard could be the show that marika originally was fine with the use of the serpents as their power was immense but when she realized their hunger could only be sated by devouring ALL gods AND they were connected to messmer insepreably now, she locked him in the land of shadows for the safety of her new orderand out of fear that she would be devoured as well hence why she stoaked such fear and hate of all serpents so as to prevent them from every hopefully being able to even begin to grow powerful enough to devour her. Also as a sidenote, this pairs nicely with the theory that all tarnished are demigod children of marika as it would explain why rykard wants to devour US too despite originally all of us thinking we were basically lowly normal humans even if we could gain enough power to defeat the gods as its the GOD devouring serpent and thus, us tarnished being demigods puts us on the menu. All in all i like these theories a lot and especially what they say about the omen who state in their dreams are tormented by horrid nightmares of a figure with a smirk being the key figure in those dreams inflicting the torment upon them and thats where the omenkillers got their mask from being the knowledge of this nightmare ALL omen had to deal with as perhaps the emotions of the summoner of the spirits matters when it comes to what spirits are summoned. i say this cause the hornsent summon seemingly true white spirits perhaps void of any control and free to walk in life again while the ancestral followers all summon a light turqoise blue spirit while the omen summon the sickly yellowish gold and black wraiths implying that its their tormented nature that has cause this abhorent summoing and that its their horns that allow for this when all 3 have horns and more specifically, the omen twins we see protecting morgotts divine tower seemginly have it so that only the one WITH horns can summon wraiths while the one without mus simply attack with his axe and accursed blood.

An observation that I haven't seen discussed is the brooch on the Mask of Confidence. It is in the form of two snakes, both two headed, intertwined with one another. They look like Messmer's snakes but are gold. Also these gold snakes appear on the top of Selivus's hat. A more appropriate symbol for the wedding would be a gold moon, so why the snakes? You can see this brooch in detail on Zlofsky's flikr, page 4.

The proposed alternate path also explains the sequence of accomplishments in Godfrey's armor description. Beat the giants, headed down the east side of the Lands Between, which was likely once Farum Azula. Here he fights the Storm Lord. During the march through Farum Azula down to Caelid seems like the most likely time for Gransax to attack the capital and has a lot of logic to it and a more direct reason for the attack on Leyndell. It would explain why Godfrey wasn't mentioned in the defense, he was away. (I think Fortisaxx killed Gransax and that is why there is no mention of Gransax being slain. It wasn't done by one of the Erdtree faithful's heroes so the kill isn't celebrated. Instead the act that leads to the kill is, Godwyn befriending/turning Fortisaxx. Outside of Godfrey's influence Leyndell has a supremacist bent to its culture.) I was passing through Caelid and I realized that if we separate the DragonBarrow, Caelid has some fairly sprawling stone towns/cities (I can't help but wonder if Forsaken Ruins and Caelid Waypoint Ruins might have been part of Caelum as one sprawling city in East Caelid but the connecting structures have fallen). If you follow the Lord's Highway (Elden Road, whatever folks wanna call it) from Limgrave to Sellia and just glance to your left and right you can usually see ruins on one side or the other until you get to the southern bend in the road. Aeonia had two towns on it, Sellia on the east bank and what is now called the Street of Sages ruins on the west. Which would jive with the implication of Godfrey traveling down the East of the Lands Between. If Caelid was taken before Limgrave it makes sense it would have had more development prior to the Shattering. This would also likely be the last region Godfrey was properly celebrated as Lord, since the Church where we get the echoes of him being tarnished are in the church right outside Caelid. So in that sense it would track the Radahn would want to be there since he is a Godfrey fanboy, Caelid is where Godfrey last stood as uncontested Elden Lord.

Great theory. I would propose one change. It was not Fortisax who killed Gransax but Placidusax. I figure they may have had had beef considering their size difference and we know Placidusax has time-control powers. I am thinking he 'killed' Gransax by freezing him in time or something like that.

Some Red Lion General conspiracy theories: About the mechanism of how the stars stopped, for me it'd be Radahn's fate, let me explain: the fate of the Carian Royals is guided by the stars, and we know thanks to both Ranni and Miquella that the only way to get rid of ones own fate is the death of the body, from this we can infer that Radahn's destiny is to arrest the stars themselves until the time of his death. Furthermore, Radahn knows it, he likely swore an oath of honorable death with his guest commander, his men organize the festival of combat that celebrates his death, and lastly he's the only demigod who doesn't gain the title of Lord or God, he won't inherit anything. The reason I think this way is because of the Elden Lord endings, we know the Greater Will is against the burning of the Erdtree and it obviously doesn't want it's god to get killed, but it has us do both of these things for the normal endings, it seems even the God of Order can accept contradictory actions if they conclude with it taking the W in the end. The second after Radahn's defeat we see the falling star hit the earth. We know the time of Radahn's conquest of the stars was when he was quite young (Starscourge Greatsword), this was likely during the height of Golden Order rule. Who's to say that if a literal plot contrivance just opened a direct path to Nokron the Golden ones wouldn't form a band of executioners and send them underground to light up the place. The Sword Monument close to the Impassable Greatbridge tells us Radahn alone held Sellia secure, his swords are the single most effective weapon against gravity beasts, Remembrance of the Naturalborn states this Fallingstar was sent to destroy an Eternal City, probably one of the Greater Will's machinations. Sellia itself is home to sorcerers who have a connection with the Eternal, and it's a place for the study of invisibility magic, which reminds me of the Black Knives and the plot against the gods.

Another amazing lore video! There is something interesting to note though, and it's Melina's recalling of Marika's words at the Grand Lift of Dectus. "The Erdtree governs all. The choice is thine. Become one with the Order. Or divest thyself of it. To wallow at the fringes; a powerless upstart." If the Lift is the start of the trail and the Bellum church and monument are specifically about the First Liurnian Wars, Marika is probably talking to the Nox here. What is really curious though is that "Order" is capitalized, something that if I'm not mistaken we only see when the Golden Order is in reference, even when it comes to the various Elden Lord endings. When Ranni talks about the Age of Stars, "order" is not capitalized, as it is not one of gold, so no Golden Order there. This means the Golden Order could be traced back to as early as before the Liurnian Wars if it's not a mistake. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

I know you have your reasons, but Miriel's dialogue very clearly points to Radagon only ever being an aspect of Marika. He wasn't just a random reserve commander that invaded Liurnia while Godfrey was busy with the main army. Radagon led a "great golden host" as his _very first appearance_ in the historical record, immediately married the Queen of the lands he just invaded, then became one of the most powerful characters in the lore by marrying a woman he should have no connection to. 🤔 That makes no sense. The context clues of Miriel's dialogue very obviously point to Radagon being an aspect of Marika that popped into existence sometime before the Liurnian Wars, probably as a direct result of the defeat of the Fire Giants. Radagon came into existence as another soul inside Marika's body (most likely in a similar vein to the relationship between Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde), led Marika's army, used seduction to conquer their last enemy as well as gain personal power, then kicked out the only one who could possibly beat him at the time (Godfrey). Marika had contingencies though and bid the Tarnished to return with the power to kill a God because she wanted them to kill Radagon once he took over completely. The Shattering was Marika's last ditch effort to deny Radagon of godhood by breaking Elden Ring and therefore also their body that housed it.

Ive been racking my brain trying to figure out a timeline for Godfrey's banishment and the liurnian wars. And this makes it make so much sense. With the starting class tarnished including astrologers it must mean that while under godfreys reign there were sorcerers who were allied with the erdtree. Looking forward to finding out more about rellana and her involvement with messmer. I'm of the mind that Melina and messmer were born of radagon and Marika perhaps before miquella and malenia. However they could also be bastard children born before the age of Godfrey if the events in the land of shadow took place before the war of the giants.
@codipedersen23745 ай бұрын
My other theory is if it is the gloam eyed queens corpse having the strands of the elden ring being plucked from her in the story trailer that maybe Marika seduced the gloam eyed queen as radagon and Melina and messmer are twins born of that seduction and affair. Which would explain messmers red hair and snake association and Melina's association with destined death.

Personally, I've long believed that while many Tarnished are associates of Godfrey, some may have been stripped of grace separately on different occasions. And some may have never even been to the Lands Between until irresistibly beckoned by the call of grace. Nephali, I am convinced, is one such example.

I’m at 9:52… not the direction I was hoping you’d go. Not that I argue with it. I just think Godfrey was fighting the Fire Giants while Radagon/Marika was getting jiggy with Rennala. It would be fitting that Rennala’s Troll Pact was enacted to have the Trolls betray the Fire Giants at Radagon’s behest. And would lead more credence to Marika not killing the Fell God as she is believed to have done because she was Radagon in Liurnia at the time.
@Hawkshaw5 ай бұрын
An interesting idea! It's definitely a compelling direction... would take some time to work through the knock on implications but I'd be curious to see the full picture. We didn't go that way because of the quote of Marika to Godfrey at the First Church, which felt to us like it meant she was there at the Mountaintops as they reached the summit
@kreadapelu88135 ай бұрын
@@Hawkshaw oh I’m sure Marika was present at the start of the battle. Mostly, I just think the given premise for Radagon going to Liurnia is false. Rennala is, if we take everything at face value, just as powerful as Radagon/Marika with the Elden Ring. She and her daughter have extraordinary connections to Miquella. So much that I think Ranni grew up with Miquella as a role model. Yes, I believe Miquella and Malenia are older than Radagon’s marriage to Rennala. Likely, they were among Marika’s first born. I suspect that Rennala knew all about Radagon being Marika and the three were, at the very least, on friendly terms for a long time before Marika’s conquest. Radagon gifted Rennala Miquella’s discarded Great Rune so that she may use it to complete the Albinaurics by giving them the ability to reproduce with the Birthing Drop. And also to make backup bodies for anyone traveling to the Land of Shadows in case their current body is lost or decays in their absence. Why not? Ranni tells us Rennala is in “rich slumber” which I add to her ability to charm the entire academy and some other stuff to say that if nothing else, Rennala is currently aiding Miquella. She’s not being victimized or anything. It really seems as though Miquella may want Ranni to be the one to take the Elden Ring away. … so that he can bring a new ring into the Lands Between uncontested.

I think the war with the Liurnia and the Giant was about the same time. So Marika army didn't went all out vs Liurnia because the Giant was the bigger threat and most armies were sent there. I feel like it is naive to say that radagon was being genuine in his marriage to rennala. The video goes through how minor the gifts from his side were, and the repurposing of the moonlight sword is pretty disdainful. What secrets are the preceptors supposed to keep? The Carians don’t have any secrets. One of the few real secrets in this whole world is that marika is radagon. 2 of the children end up contributing to Marikas goals in overthrowing the golden order. Apart from that, we’ve seen marika use any means necessary to defeat opponents, especially when direct force doesn’t work. “The seduction and the betrayal…” Marika had done this before.

That's our current thinking! Marika's history is definitely a tough one to pin down currently though, so the second is more soft at this stage. It doesn't seem to us as though Marika would be kind to her previous people

Clicked on that dragons video right when this one ended but "Members Only". Really wish it would only be recommended to members then, it just resulted in me clicking 'not interested', so i wont watch it when it leaves members only either cuz its already hidden. Just mentioning it as thats an oversight im not sure youre aware of. Either way though the result is the same, ive hidden it from my recommendations, doubt im the only one.

I appreciate the soundtrack list as credits. But why didn't u list cult of the lamb. U literally start the video with it playing during ur ad? If it's copyright free my bad but for a small team all the attention helps imo

What is this ancient titan dynasty?

Something we speculated on in the first episode that we've inferred from the environmental story telling in the Lands Between. The naming is just what we've gone with
