I think that some way it could fit into the Isaac lore is if Isaac decided to lock his evils away and never open them up. However, his separate shadow locked away manages to find keys in the basement, and the evils are free once again. This also explains the fact that his unlocked form is dark and has bloody streams coming from is eyes.

I think it's more of the idea that Isaac was locking away his evils in order to please his mother and his sense of righteousness. The keys represent Isaac's acceptance of himself. Once he learns that there's nothing wrong with himself, The Locked becomes The Unlocked. See Ending 16 for a better idea of this. Isaac smiles when he comes to terms with his perception of himself.

I thought of a really great mod for isaac. You know how when you get the key pieces, you go to fight Satan? Well what if you got dark key pieces to fight God? Bombing the devil statues should give you a fight like the angel statues do, but the should be like krampus too almost. There should also be a conflicted room you could go to. It’s basically a room that’s sort of undecided, like the void boss (sorry I forgot his name right now). You could have libra and duality in that room. But you could also make different items. How about cambion confusion, which spawns a random devil/angel follower when you get hurt enough times? Or make a crown of darkness (parallel to the crown of light) that gives you a permanent double the damage for one floor for 3 hearts (red ones first, then soul/black hearts next). Then there should be a crown of confliction, which randomly chooses which crown to be on a certain floor. There could be more. But most of all, make a Conflicted fight, where you get the keys from the conflicted statues you see in conflicted rooms. He could have devil's horns and a halo, and do random attacks from both Satan and God. I’m not patenting this idea by the way.

The Locked Backstory: Isaac's mother had a secret. Isaac.. had a brother.. A baby brother. He was a young boy, named Caleb. He was born a few weeks early, and the results, and consequences were that his brain wasn't correctly built, and Caleb slowly went delusional as time passed by. Caleb was, at an early age, sent to an insane asylum by his mother, as Caleb was doing... Crazy things. Hurting Isaac and himself. The doctors tried to treat him, and his mother visited regularly to check upon his condition, although nothing was working. No treatmens worked. Caleb was eventually put in High Security Lockdown, a special room for the most dangerous pasients. He was fitted with a metal suit on his body, with screws down the middle of it, to keep it intact. He was also forced to wear a helmet. An Iron Brass helmet that had two eyeholes and a keyhole in the center. It was so dark for Caleb, and the doctors kept distributing him medicine. He tried forcing the helmet off countless times, but to no use. One day, Caleb broke out. He broke down the door and murdered anyone in his path using his new weapon, His head. He was nicknamed the infamous "The Locked." Caleb seeked out his mother, and found her waiting in her own house. Caleb noticed something was wrong. Mother was acting weird, and Isaac was nowhere to be found. He looked away for a second, and saw Mother running upstairs and into Isaac's room. She jumped down a hatch as he slammed the door open, and followed her in. Some say Caleb seeks revenge on his mother, whilst some say he only wishes her everlasting love. No matter, He needed to find her. Some also say, that one day, Caleb will be able to find the key that fits his helmet, and that his true power will finally be revealed to the world. He decided for himself, that his name shall be "The Unlocked" shall he ever find the true key. This, is the story of how "The Locked" entered the basement. HIII! I'm sorry you had to read all that stuff, I was just bored asf, and wanted to write a little "The Locked Backstory" out of my imagination. Please don't hate on me. Baiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii PS: If you see anyone with a similar story, I want you to know this was a burst of my own imagination, and I have not read or seen any backstories to this character. Him being unlocked means either he's found his way out or it's his way of coping with being in the chest. The Unlocked is either that escape or his acceptance of the death in the chest. hutts here is a challenge for you, it's called: delirious friends install or use if you already have it the mod which allows you to use your space bar item without charge, take the item that spawns a delirium friend for a limited amount of time ( I don't remember the name) use it five times in a room with a delirium boss in it you can't shoot when the deliriums spawned despawns, use again your item 5 times, give yourself 7 hp up, if it's too hard give yourself the host or more hp ups try to kill delirium waiting for your friends to attack him and dodge his bullets. hi from Italy!

There should be a enpowered transformation. Getting 3 of these items: extension cord, jacobs ladder, a tech item (reply if you come up with more).
