I can never decide who I enjoy watching the most... Greg for his style...Shabba Doo for his speed and grace... Flukey Luke for his energy... Slim for his fireworks... Toni for her classical skill... Fred Berry for his character.. And of course the man himself, Don, for his unmatched high flying antics and for bringing this dance to the world.

Combining funk and fouettés, Toni you're amazing. I think you should do a Ken Burns-type documentary on folk dance history, buck dancing, clogging, cakewalk, Charleston, Lindy Hop and all the subsequent styles.

Since I was born in the late '70s, I love watching dances in this era before I was born to learn what I didn't know. It maybe considered old school but it's still pretty cool to watch. At my age though I wouldn't imitate it. Lol.

Is there a name for the move-sequence from 2:35-2:37? I'd say it starts with a bit of whacking, then kick-left while pointing right, switch feet, no feet, land right left. Is there a name for all that? How about 2:25-2:30? (hands clasped down front, one knee up out to side, other; repeat)

This is great seventies-style dancing, but it isn't hiphop and it isn't breakdancing. No matter what people say today, there was no hiphop and no breakdancing in the seventies. Those terms didn't come around until the eighties, when dance styles had also changed from what you see in this 1975 video.
@hosephotographer9630 Жыл бұрын
I know every dance group back then had their 'robot guy' but that damn Slim! He had a robot style that no one could duplicate it wasn't as jerkish or as popped out as most do it he was more fluid and smooth while still maintaining that perfect robotish form from torso to feet. Amazing
