In the next video, I will show you the prototyping process of the actual UI being projected onto the pool table. Fun stuff!

Only thing I would add to that each change you make should be a copy paste into a new logo. That way the iterative process becomes clear and you can branch into new choices wherever you like. "Vectors are free" as Aaron Draplin says.

You didn't make the "A" into a triangle containing colored circles? Missed opportunity.

I just wanted to see it as an empty rack! I also thought having the long rectangle “stick” behind the “RACKE” would have been pretty cool, especially if you left the vertical of D black and only made the curved part blue. I’m torn on filling in the curved area or not. What do you guys think?
@TheCosmicTeapot10 ай бұрын
@@TAHppled Leaving it empty would work too if you wanted to avoid color but 3 balls that fill the space without touching each other or the outer triangle, in the same blue used on the "D" would keep the design clean, identifiable at smaller sizes and on-brand. I would probably round the outer corners of the triangle in either case.

@@TheCosmicTeapot oooOOOooo and if you made the rack taller than it is wide (not equal triangle) you could arrange the balls so that the white space they create makes the A. Kind of a negative affect thing. Maybe that’s overkill, but would also then make for a good stand alone emblem as well. I guess I know what I’m doing tonight!

Like it. Swapping the A for a set of balls could also be an idea

Gary, this was insightful. I learned a lot about the kind of thought process that goes into designing a logo. Also, my earphones switched from stereo to mono in the middle of the video. It’s not an issue, but I thought I should let you know.

Instead of immediately converting it to curves, I would have just used letter kerning of the individual letters.

on the AR Trainer logo, you should make one of the 3 black circles an 8-ball

Why do people prefer AI to Corel Draw for vector designs 🤔
@DesignCourse10 ай бұрын
I've used AI forever and it's basically the industry standard. I never tried Corel Draw because AI has everything I need.

It's also directly compatible with After Effects, which is a nice application for your toolkit if you do any web design

People watch videos like this and think thats how you design a logo. It isn't. This is fine if you just need something quick and you can't afford to hire a logo designer, but nothing more than that. I know you don't claim it to be, but people see this and think thats all there is to logo design :(

Great explanation of how to actually design a logo by thinking in an abstract way, however, the fact that you hiding the left side of Illustrator is not good for teaching people. I am terrible at Illustrator so following was hard because I could not see what you were doing on the tool's section of illustrator. Please next time show everything you do clearly.
