I've got the older version of the 3-in-1, had it for well over a year now. I absolutely love mine!!!! It goes to every job with me (actually stays in the truck so I always have it). There is also enough room in the storage bag that I can fold up my chaps and store them in there too. I use it for splitting wood also, like you figured, the lift is great for putting wood up on the splitter!! I know you will absolutely love yours.

Hey there Big Guy… grab it more towards your center and then you can keep knocking your ends off for the balance and you’re no where near the dirt!!! Yeah man… guy’s who don’t use or have never used a pickeroon just don’t have a clue what they are missing!!! The log tote is super awesome!!! As you ain’t bending that back over and over!!! I highly recommend that if a guy has several cord a year to bring in to get two of those lift hook setup’s so you have one in each hand and you can walk balanced!!! On your pickeroon the trick is the little flip or frick at the end of your tossing of the chuck… it’s a little (twist out) not a straight yank back … because it’s got the little curve on it’s tip so it’ll not drop the pieces… so it’ll hold onto them it’s hooked… so you want to have your hook curved down then you swing it underhand and as your piece is flying towards your truck or pile … and it’s a little pop down motion to release that hook from your hunk…. God Bless you and mama and the whole family, brother! Hopefully this last storm didn’t tear up too many of your trees!!! Man O man!!! That’s a big old beautiful lightert stump!!! I love having a little box of those chunks!!! Dang great starter!!! I built a little wooden box like a little foot locker out of untreated 5/4 deck boards!!! I ran them threw the planer until I had 3/4” thick boards… a little lid with an old hatch and stained 1/2 walnut and 1/2 dark cherry mixed stain!!! Turned out looking like an old wooden trunk!!! You need a two piece bazooka slingshot… so you can shoot your pull line into your canopy then pull up your bull rope then you hitch your bull rope onto the block and tackle system or your 5 to 1 with a brake is real great because everything that you can get on your pull is held until you want to release it!!! You can just grab a double and a triple pulley that has a good eye on them so you can snap them onto a steel carabiner!!! Then grab 150’ of 1/2” 16 strand rope! Even two double wheel pulleys and then you bring your rope back and terminate it around your carabiner above the double… that’s like 4 to 1… a 200lb man pulling with his body weight in the snatch is like an 800lb. Yank on the crown of the top of the canopy… when you bend them over into the right direction… it’s just fantastic! We pull them back over themselves and opposite their leans all the time… a decent size little 4 wheeler or UTE is fantastic for the pulley rig!!! You add a couple wedges to help too and you can make a big 3’ thick son of a gun go back over itself… the important thing is to make a deep open face wedge cut… a good 1/3 of the tree then come across 2”’s above your center line… I’ll usually pull it back… and make some of the back cut… up to 1/2 the thickness of the tree !!! So it’s bending over where you want it to go… then pop in a little face cut and wack!!! Another one bites the dust!!!

@@TKCL right on… yeah man… my buddy actually showed me the underhand toss… if you look at the hook as the wood is flying forward… it’s actually digging in even harder because of the way that hook end is curved!!! If you yank back or jerk back the handle you are actually biting in even deeper… you want a casual swing and then you want to try and smack the chuck of wood with the bottom of the handle… as it’s rolling through you bang the handle with your open palm… I’m all about a little leather piece of cordage that’s wrapped around my wrist!!! Swing it up through then bang! The handle forward!!!! 😁👍

Looks like a Neat tool Andrew, one question I never saw that paint marker that you used I must have missed it in an older video. Next time you do a firewood video can you talk about that as well. can you set the log length and it puts a mark on the logs? looks easier then a tape ruler and manual marking.

Find that funny I have a tool that's over 50 years old just like your new 1 it's called a pivi this 1 has the leg on it instead sted of the point on the end like most there for turning over big logs but this 1 was made for getting the log up off the ground to buck it up they have a big wood handle and last forever we have over 3 ft round trees some over 12ft
@TKCL
@TKCL 2 жыл бұрын
This definitely wouldn't work on trees that size.
@LogOXUSA
@LogOXUSA 2 жыл бұрын
The main difference between a Peavey like you have and a Cant Hook, which is one of the functions of the LogOX 3-in-1 Forestry MultiTool, as you note, is the base piece. Peavy's have an advantage in certain circumstances, like separating logs from a pile, but in general, we prefer our cant hook's chiseled toe design for gripping and controlling the log as we roll it. For larger logs like you're describing, instead of using the LogOX as a timberjack and lifting the log to buck it, what you would do is make your desired length cuts 3/4 of the way through the log, down the entire length of the log, then use the LogOX as a cant hook to roll it over and finish the cuts. We recommend this technique for most logs larger than 12" in diameter since it's just easier than fighting gravity.
