Background trivia. JHope bought this song/rap from a female rapper, Bianca Bonnie, in NYC. She was sitting outside at a local basketball court watching her homies play. The phrases are baskerball terms. "Let it Rain" means everyone practices and takes shots. Let the basketball shots rain. "Clear it Out" means the shot goes in the hoop and then clears out. She lived in a poor neighborhood. A common cheap meal was Chicken Noodle Soup. "With a Soda on the Side". Refers to the poor people not able to afford milk. So they bought cheap non-brands of soda. Never a Real Coca Cola or Pepsi. JHope remixed the song. And brilliantly added the Becky G part. And this song went viral. This song was one of JHope's favorite to dance to as a child and teen. He flew out to L.A. to film the MV all by himself. RM makes note many times how entrepreneurial JHope was to do that on his own. And from the beginning, JHope always had big visions for his future. He was the first BTS member to have a clear vision to create an MV on his own. So when it was declared at Festa BTS was taking a break, JHope had already written and produced his first solo album, "Jack in the Box." He designed the whole look, marketed the music himself for public interviews, and created a listening party of celebrities to introduce the album to the world. He wrote it during the pandemic. So we got a more serious JHope in "More" and "Arson." They are 2 Must See MV's. Then he was chosen to headline at Lollapalooza in Chicago all by himself. More people attended his solo concert than any other performer in the history of Lollapalooza. They started calling it Hopeapalooza. In my heart of hearts I believe he has already written his 2nd album and will surprise us with it. And he already did. It's called "Hope on the Street". He created a marvelous documentary about his dance past and future wishes. So what I meant to say is he probably will release his 3rd solo album. But it won't surprise us because "Hope on the Street" is labeled Episode Part 1. It's on Prime Video. His first documentary is on Disney. He IS a Go-Getter! Enjoy more of JHope!

BTS did a live version for their 2021 “Muster Sowoozoo” (microcosmos) concert during the pandemic; at a big outdoor stadium in Korea but the crowd was on screens. All 7 did this song, featuring kids dancers and a replica of the chicken car. 🐔Three of the guys cover Becky’s part with 2 of them singing in Spanish!! Check it out. 💜 The actual chicken car showed up in the parking lot of Sofi stadium in LA when BTS played there in Nov/Dec 2021. MV was filmed in LA & that is where the Chicken Shack’s chicken car comes from. 💜

Jhope is my first actual bias because he makes me laugh and feel all warm inside even when im down and depressed he always lifts my spirits and puts a smile on my face. He is the sushine of the group for a reason. But as much as i love this song it is so catchy i feel like this doesnt show his full potential. When he came out with his album Jack in the box it was so shocking lol. Hes always this bright happy funny laughing person. He did warn us this album he would have to go to a dark side of himself to tell his story when he dropped the video for his song More, i tried to be prepared but as i sat and watched it i sat there with my mouth hung open eyes wide and i seriously couldnt speak for like 30 minutes lol. The way I understood his remarks is that he's defo going to watch it, but he's not sure whether reacting to it on camera is appropriate. I think he could record a reaction and then decide for himself whether he wants to post it or abort the recording and come back with a video of his afterthoughts. I'd watched Stephanie Soo's 2-hour video on her Rotten Mango channel before watching the Italian ARMY one in another reactor's video. Spring Day is a very powerful song, especially to a parent like myself. It's based on a tragedy that happened to high school students on a field trip. BTS brings it out to the open. It's inspired by the 2014 Sewol Ferry disaster. There was over 300 lives lost, majority high school students. The song is about loss, passage of time, reflecting in separation, pain and eventually the hope of a reunion. It's sad but a beautiful song.

Our Hope is beyond talented. A fiercely skilled dancer, rapper and singer. He is our bubbly quirky sunshine. Dancing is where his roots are...he takes his dancing very seriously and keeps BTS members in line when working on choreo. He has a few other solos to check out.. Ego, Arson, the entire "Hope on the street" album, DayDream, and he really shines in all of the BTS rap line songs.

A lot of reactors choose to view the Spring Day explanation, whether as a way to keep the memory alive for the children whose lives were lost, or just as a way to better understand why this song is so meaningful to people (to the point that it hasn't left the Korean charts in seven years.) Whether you choose to react is a personal choice, but you probably should watch it in some capacity, because if you're wanting to truly understand BTS, Spring Day is huge. (Just FYI, if you watch the Italian explanation, it's pretty heavy and, since you're a father, certain parts might bring you to tears, so be prepared for that.)

I also it was an iconic song in terms of hip hop history as it was one of the dances most people grew up with and it went completely viral when it first came out. In one of his lives Hobi said that he grew up listening to Chicken Noodle Soup and learnt how to dance by listening to it and It had a very special place in his heart. J-Hope made sure that Bianca Bonnie received $2.7 million USD for him to remake the song. It was so nice of him to give credit to the original artist, which is not that common. He received a lot of praises for that and also bc he end up releasing it on SoundCloud as well for free despite all the money he paid. he was planning to released CNS in Hope World (his first mixtape), but it couldn’t because the artist J-Hope wanted to collaborate with couldn’t do it. J-hope said that he was very disappointed with how it couldn’t be released then. However, Hobi still wanted to make it. So he searched for a possible artist to collaborate with. Then he found Becky G and end up liking her music, and found out that both have a special attachment to the original CNS song from their childhood. I love hearing English, Spanish, Korean and English in the same song! so cool In other of his lives, Hobi told us that when they first met in the Billboard awards Hobi and Becky were talking that each of them likes the other one songs. He said that the conversation was awkward a little cause his English isn’t that good, then when Namjoon and the rest of the members came he introduced her to BTS. We don't know when but later Hobi asked her of collaboration. He was very worried that she wouldn’t want to collaborate with him, but Becky answered him and she said that she was very busy but she would gladly do the song and was excited. They performed it together 3 years later during lollapalooza where hobi was the headliner, it was an amazing performance from beginning to end with over 100K attendees and millions watching on livestream. As for spring day, yes I do believe you should watch the back story. The video came out at a time when BTS would be blacklisted if they even spoke out about the event, many other celebrities unfortunately became blacklisted. However, BTS did what they could in that oppressive government by secretly donating to the families with Bang PD (the ceo of hybe). A little mv trivia. The dancers are The Lab which is the same dance crew who danced in ON Kinetic Manifesto mv. This may be the only song to feature English, Spanish and Korean. It was shot in West LA. JHope’s return outfit from LA instigated a new Jhope persona, Jay, created by ARMY to describe a new sexier Hobi. OG Chicken Noodle Soup song is a 2006 track by DJ Webstar (to who j-hope gave close to $3M)! There's a very fun version all the members performed it together (muster 2021)! This track was almost like a dance anthem in Harlem back at the end of the 2000s, around the time of the og Harlem shake (the actual dance move not the challenge) that's one of the 1st track Hobi danced on and same for Becky G, that's how the lyrics in his verse corrolate with the narrative! It's a sort of homage to his dance roots and beginnings!

Becky G’s “Shower” was my introduction to her discography. She is absolutely iconic. 💜 I feel everyone should view the tragedy synopsis of “Spring Day” because the song is iconic and still charting top 100 lists to this day. The song carries other messages and meanings like all BTS discography and solos. An example is during quarantine SDay became a love song between BTS and ARMY during covid. - Waiting for that spring day BTS and ARMY would meet again. It is however you interpret the lyrics and the feels from their music.

Well before Jack In The Box, Hoseok had more than proven his chops as a sophisticated lyricist, but AFTER, why would anyone exclude him from the conversation?

Jhope paid the original artists for the rights to the original "Chicken Noodle Soup" song, like big money, I think atleast 2 million, maybe a bit more, but its up there! And than he got together with writers and producers and redid it. He personally added new lyrics of his own, I mean he most always writes his own raps even in BTS songs, it is the same for the other rappers as well. But he can write, produce and mix songs also, and he does this for his own projects as well as for some BTS songs too. For example, in his verse in the beginning of the song, the lyrics mentioned about a Team called Neuron. Well if you remember, that was the Street Dance Crew that Jhope was in before he even became a trainee at Bighit. Which I know you watched the Introduction videos to the members and BTS, but they also haven't been updated in a while. And in the past couple years specifically, even more so because of the release of their official Biography last year, called "Beyond The Story: " We have all been learning more and more about the members and the group. But to kinda update you a little and also to give you a little interesting fact, Jhope was actually the first out of all the members to sign a contract with BigHit. Many get this confused and always think it was RM, because we know that he was the first to become a member of BTS. And that is very correct, but what many don't realize is that jhope was the first to sign a contract and become a trainee with BigHit. From what I have come to understand this has a lot to do with his dancing, and after signing with BigHit he went and trained more in all different types of street dance. Actually that last part we all just learned from his recent docu-series that was released on Amazon Prime called "Hope On The Street." Which is a fantastic docu-series in so many ways, you should definitely try and check it out. But back to what I was first saying, so yeah,...jhope added new lyrics, Becky had a whole new part, he remixed it and changed some of the production, or maybe that was the team he was working with at the time on this song, but I am sure you get my point. Lets just say Jhope bought the song and than changed it up and made it into his own version, all while keeping the main o.g. parts that help make the song what it was and what it still is. If you listen to the original song, you can definitely tell the difference, between that one and Jhopes song. Hobi is without a doubt a go getter, he likes to challenge himself, and I know that this song meant a lot to him, because it is something he used to dance to when he was younger, just starting out as a dancer. J-Hope is a brilliant dancer and his voice is unique! I would like to recommend his latest album! It is rocky and he sings, not just rapping! Songs like More or Arson are unimagible good! For the explanation of Spring day.... There was the seawol ferry tragedy in Korea ten years ago! BTS made this song, I think in remembrance of this desaster! It is very sad , if you start to understand the little details and traditions who are explained! But it is so worth it! They did such a good job with this song, and the explanation is even more beautifull done! I myself was hesitant to watch the explanation as I discovered that this was not a "Spring song"! But I dared to watch it. I cryed and sobbed. But I even dived into the reports of that time and a lot of mistakes and injustices was discovered! Surviving Teenager felt guilty for surviving their friends! It is not easy to watch but with your personality, I´m sure you will find the right words and I´m sure that at least one surviver is going to see your video and is consoled by your words! That alone is the best reason to know the background of the beautifull but so sad song! But it is up to you, and I can fully understand, if you don´t dare to watch it!😢💜💜💜

I'm sending this because I think it's important that you react to the spring day explanation either by rotten mango- The 2-hour deep dive or the Italian Army video. ultimately is your decision but I felt it was important for you to know a very young survivor despite being told to forget specifically asked us- the world not to forget. Many people believe the government's handling of the Sewol Ferry disaster and the cover up this sad event was beyond belief. As it is so deeply ingrained into the youth of Korea to follow the instructions of their elders (right or wrong) many of the students stayed inside the ferry boat as instructed by the captain while he and crew ran for their lives. Regarding Spring Day explanation: It is a bit heavy, so wait a while to see it if you want. Especially since you have kids. The song is about missing or losing someone. But the video references the tragedy. It is sad, but shows how BTS in a subtle way addressed their opposition to the massive injustices and corruption surrounding the incident -especially since many artists, journalists and general public were black-listed for speaking out about it. This plus other corruptions led to the S. Korean president being impeached.

Okay, yes, second comment...because it needs to be separate from the Spring Day stuff.... Hobi and Becky G have a great friendship that goes back to this song. This song was the first chart topper to be not just bilingual, but TRI-lingual. The group did it, as others have mentioned, for Sowoozoo. It is available to view here on YT, but - admittedly - it does sometimes get copyrighted. Still worth it even if you have to black out the screen/put writing on the screen for us to watch it "with" you. Jimin and RM actually do Becky's Spanish parts and they ALL absolutely kill it!!!! Although, Jin did....well....you'll see, if you do watch it. LOL
