Keep both and do a restoration on the XR to keep it as a classic on your garage. The TTR is one of the best dual bikes ever made both the 250 and the 600

I`d love to keep the XR, It`s an awesome bike, but I have other bikes I want to own and try and can`t keep them all lol

Id keep xr no electric leg bumber however few mods on xr pipe jetting fork spring s oil weigh s braided brake line s which is all easy to do results in a bullet proof bike that can hold its own in bigger capacity company 😊

Dude you own a couple of great bikes that aren't built The way they used to build them. 🎉 Just have fun and enjoy all the quabbles and maintenance

Yeah , they don`t and can`t build them like this. i do wonder how many modern bikes will still be out there in 30+ years time? not many i reckon

I've owned both, very different bikes. The XR was unburstable, but hot starting was a real problem, really not ideal in the middle of a 6 hour enduro. TTR was a better all-rounder, I only had problems with the spragg-clutch, otherwise excellent.

agreed on both accounts. I have decided to keep the TTR and invested in some mods like 22l acerbis tank, 13/48 gearing, better clutch with stonger springs, shorty levers etc. also got a 350 kit on order which I will post a series of vids once it arrives.

So wait: the TTR has an extra-high 6th gear, or is the gear ratio just higher in general for all the gears?
@TBSL7121 сағат бұрын
I think the gears seem a little more spread and the 6th seems a little longer, however I have just changed the gearing to 13/48 for a more off road trail riding bias as i burned the clutch out on some technical stuff in Wales last time out

The yamaha is stronger Australians have flogged them to death. Your clearly haven't studdied or owned these bikes long. I have has a couple if both.. Ride an XT 600 you will fall un love! Both great bikes and very similar.

yeah not lived with them too long, the XR is definitely more playful. Back out on the TTR tomorrow for a day mixed lanes so will get a better idea of the bike

Does your ttr leak fuel when you lean it over when stationary ?
@TBSL71Ай бұрын
obvs would leak out of the carb if dropped on side. Is that what you mean?

@@TBSL71 nah around 45 degrees - had the float checked and it seems ok - just found it a bit odd

@@blackpearlpastoral Hey mate. Ok, I was out on the trail yesterday, vid coming soon, and yes, you`re right, If I put the bike over 45 degrees to the left a breather pipe lets petrol out, doesn`t seem to happen to the right. strange indeed
