At 1 point in your life perhaps you might be struggling and "a loser" as the video creator likes to put it but remember that it takes years of dedication, improvement, practice at your skills/craft to reach mastery. So what are each of you working on?? Where do you spend YOUR TIME/ENERGY? Check out Mastery by Robert Greene!

I watched this series for the first time a few weeks ago thanks to a link from reddit. I keep coming back because whenever i get to part 3 i am moved to tears and it relieves me of a lot of self-criticism. It's sort of like the feeling that the song Vienna by Billy Joel gives me. Thank you so much for this series, Adam. It is so so special to me.

Adam… I just heard interviewed by Danny Gregory. I’m so glad I did because I didn’t know about The Long Game. BRILLIANT. Just watched all three! I’m 65 and have been taking up art for just the last few years… I remember you saying you thought 30 was too old to start drawing! The long game is just beautiful and beyond meaningful to me. Thank you for creating it. Keep going. I will be sharing your work.❤️

I don't think that there's anything mutually exclusive about genius and being a loser. Most acknowledged geniuses were losers in some way. Vincent Van Gogh sold just one painting during his lifetime, and his personal life was even more bleak. Orson Welles was prolific in his youth, but never really made much money off of his work; he ended up struggling to get projects completed throughout the rest of his career, and his final film role was in a Transformers movie.

Da Vinci wasn't just an artist. He was a biologist, a physicist and an inventor. He is a genius for his work on human circulatory system, His work on flying machines and catapults or his observations of nature. His genius did not come from a few paintings.

I have to say this Long Game series is amazing. I found it out in 2015, was surprised when I saw Part 3 came out hehe but it goes without saying that it was brilliant as well. I made a video telling people to go watch it here because this kinda thing needs to be shared! Very helpful, motivational and inspirational. Thanks for making such videos as these. :D

All very well done, both in your visual presentation and in your analysis! Based on what I already know about Leonardo da Vinci, you really seem to have done your homework on the man. I'm impressed and I enjoyed it! I also really relate to Leo's "long game" approach and to his getting a late start in fulfilling his true potential.

DaVinci WAS a genius. He was just really, really, REALLY smart (220 estimated IQ. That's fucking INSANE). Unfortunately, no amount of work that we do will change our IQ, and our overall success in life depends a lot on it (To the IQ skeptics, just google for correlation between IQ and economic success, and the dozens and dozens of studies that ABSOLUTELY validate IQ tests). We're not born equal. Some people are born smart, and some dumb, and there's very little they can do to change that. It's just like height. Maybe if you didn't accomplish much in life, it wasn't because of your dedication, but just because of your IQ. I wish it were the other way, where any individual can start out with the same IQ, but that's just not the case. If you wanna play basketball but you're short, then you're shit out of luck. *HOWEVER!*, IQ isn't sufficient for accomplishment. You have to work your ass off, even if you are a genius. Therefore, this video still has a lot of validity. But still, saying that DaVinci wasn't a genius is an outright LIE. Just look at everyone who worked just as much as him, and see where they ended up.

I think there are plenty of examples today of people not making it big till they are older. I can think of mainly actors. Look at jonathan banks he's been acting since he was really young, but it wasn't until breaking bad that he took off.

These guys aren't losers! They were considered losers at there time, mainly because people didn't understand them. Case in point, most Leonardo's inventions were too complex to be made at that time and Tesla's work was almost entirely misunderstood throughout his lifetime. Anyone who would still consider them losers today could be compared themselves to the people of their times, who were mostly deluded by religion and, with Leonardo's time, rejected science.

How do you define success? Money? Just imagine how rich people in history were never immortalized in history.. Of course with the exemption of the kings, nobleman and those who were already born rich. Your money would save you today. But it wont make you great person. Money is not equal to success. It would make it easier for Leonardo if he was born rich though. In the end of the day,he was a genius and money doesn't make you great.
