Good summary James. I think us Brits, particularly those of us old enough to remember the turn of the decade from the 70s to the 80s, connect with this perhaps more than the first time, casual viewer. It’s also relies heavily on contemporary British politics (though the central conceit from writer Barry Keefe- what happens when the ultimate capitalist meets an adversary that operates entirely on an ideological level - is as relevant today as it was in 1980) which means some of the subtext is subtle. I subscribed on the back of this.

great review James, of course you know what I thought of the film - I would also suggest The Honorary Consul, Ruby and The Fourth Protocol also by MacKenzie he was responsible for directing a lot of Plays for Today titles in the 70's for the BBC and a few are on the BFI Play for Today sets which has three volumes so far.
